DAY 2

This morning ajabde woke up earlier than pratap and completed her tulsi puja because she didn't want to again fall a prey to his irresistible charms. When pratap woke up and saw the puja place with hopeful eyes, he got a little distressed on knowing that she was not there but he knew he had this deepening effect on her. So he quietly left the place and started preparing for executing his next move.

On the other hand, our panditji was waiting in the cowshed for bhago. He knew she would come there to feed the cows and that he will not let her go this time without talking to her. Chakrapani's wait ended pretty soon. As bhago went to feed the first cow, Chakri made his presence felt by holding her hand and moving her around. She was about to shout by this sudden stimulus but seeing her husband out his hand on her mouth calmed her nerves.

CH: saubhagyawati it's me your husband. What are you trying to say?

Bhago indicated towards his hand and he removed his hand.

BH: Panditji what kind of a behavior is this? And what are you doing here at the cowshed? Leave from her at once.

CH: No I won't without talking to you. See saubhagyawati I know baujiraj has hurt bhabhisa a lot but he is honestly trying to mend things. I tried to stop him but please understand even I have got some limitations. I know you are frustrated on both of us but saubhagyawati I need your help in uniting baujiraj and bhabhisa. Even you want that they unite again don't you? Then please help us saubhagyawati atleast for the future of your friend.

BH: Okay panditji. That even I have noticed that KP is really sorry for what he has done. I will help you fully from my side. Just tell me what has to be done.

CH: Thank you so much. Yeah so first you have to bring bhabhisa after dinner to the bridge on the riverside rest all baujiraj will handle.

BH: Okay panditji.

It was late afternoon. Lunch had been over. Pratap had been reading his verses the whole morning and afternoon and ajabde was preparing garlands for the puja. Suddenly, the head woman priest entered ajabde's room and said,'Beta, why are you not wearing bangles? These four days are very auspicious for a married woman and you are moreover pregnant. Bangles are a symbol of happy marriage and an indication of a bright future. It would be really appreciable if you arrange for some bangles my child.'

Ajabde nodded her head and took her leave. She had anyways finished her work and wanted an excuse to go out and wander in the mela. She was glad she got one. Ajabde left for the mela which was held in the celebration of the upcoming puja. There she went to the shop of jewellery. Coincidently, pratap had also come to the mela to look for some weapons. He saw ajabde having a look at jewellery and asking saubhagyawati about her choice and so he went there to tease her. Seeing pratap approaching, Subhon left from there. Ajabde was lost in her own world. She didn't sense subho leaving. She asked subho(actually pratap) How are these bangles subho? Will they suite my hands? And what do you think about those earrings? I want to look exceptional in the puja. KP should know what he has lost. Answer na subho!

Pratap: kp already knows what he has lost. And you don't need jewellery to ascertain your beauty. You look exceptionally beautiful even in the simplest of dress just the way you do now.

Ajabde was shocked to hear her husband's say that. She turned around and saw pratap staring fondly at her with his intense gaze. She started her usual blabbering,'What are you doing here KP? Is this the way to talk with anyone and listen to their conversations? What do you intend on doing KP? It is against your values to overhear someone right? Then why were you doing that? And...

Pratap: QUIET AJABDE you speak so much when you are completely affected by someone's presence isn't it?

Ajabde: Who said I'm affected by your presence?

Pratap: I never talked about my presence.

Ajabde was in a spot. She had herself spilled out her feelings. Damn such a fool I am she thought while pratap was grinning at his innocence. On seeing him smile, ajabde said,' What are you laughing at KP? Oh yeah! It's always so delightful to you when you see me losing to you

Pratap: Loosing to me? Ajabde I have lost my heart to you, my self to you and you talk about loosing yourself. And well, talking about my values, they don't restrict me from coming near to my wife.

Ajabde: Fine then I will only go from here. Bhaiya ji, here is the money.

She hurriedly threw some gold coins on the vendor's stall and was about to leave when pratap's comment made her embarrass all over again

Ajabde so generous of you. You gave the vendor the payment and didn't even take your materials. Such mistakes are only done when people are greatly shy and affected by someone's presence don't you agree?' Pratap knew he was torturing her but he just could not resist when he got a chance to make her red. Ajabde took her articles avoiding pratap's gaze and left from there fussing over her stupidity leaving behind a contented pratap.

AT PRATAP'S PLACE

CH: Baujiraj saubhagyawati is with us. Now it's just you and your proper execution of our plans.

Pratap: Great news Chakri. Now I will make sure ajabde falls for me again. Anyways let's start preparing now. SOM...SOM

Som: Yes baujiraj coming...all the preparations are done just get bhabhisa at the riverside after dinner.

Pratap: Yes that'll be done. Now let's leave for dinner.

AFTER DINNER

Ajab: Subho where are you dragging me so urgently?

BH: Just come ajabde I have seen a very beautiful flower near the riverside and I intend on making you see that. Come fast or else it will get wrinkled.

With this both of them made their way towards the destined place. On the other hand, Pratap had reached there and was waiting for his belle to come. Just then he heard sounds of anklets. He saw ajbde approaching the riverside with saubhagyawati.

BH: Ajabde you wait here I'm coming.

Ajabde: Subho where are you going now after being so excited to come here.?

BH: Just wait here ajabde I'll be back.

Ajabde: Okay be back soon. With a confirming nod, bhago left leaving ajabde alone to wander.

Ajabde was shocked by the way the riverside was decorated. There were tuberoses floating on the river and the foliage of the trees were complimenting the sparse growth of the algae on the river. The railing of the bridge were peppered with creepers entwined on the carved wood. But what caught her attention was the swing that was constructed efficiently by using ropes that were covered by climbers. It was suspended from the tree exactly above the edge of the river. She approached the swing and sat there. After making herself comfortable, she started to swing slowly by applying her meager force. But even the slow swinging was giving her the utmost pleasure. Her legs were touching the river water splashing the water on the lower part of her lehenga. She was enjoying the shower of lilies that were falling on her from the tree above. Her laugh was echoing in the placid environment which was making the whole scenic air merge her laugh as a melody into their winds that were blowing past pratap. Yes, all this was arranged by pratap to make her happy and he then intended to talk to her. But seeing her so free left him frozen at the spot. She was first of all looking ethereal with simple clothes, open hair and no jewellery and then her mesmerizing ear-to-ear smile made him go breathless. The warrior pratap could not move from his place because of a girl. Yes, this girl made him go on his knees and that is why he wanted her all the more. Collecting his dispersed senses, he went from the backside to ajabde so that she couldn't see him.

Suddenly, ajabde felt a strong push from behind. She looked behind and saw pratap smirking at her with the look of where-will-you-go-now. Ajabde abruptly got up from the swing trying to escape KP but poor girl didn't know that she was midway of her one round and so when she got up she was about to fall in in the river when KP rushed there with his lightening speed and caught her in his arms. Ajabde was gently cradled in his strong arms and both shared an intensive eyelock. Pratap started moving towards the grass away from the river with ajabde in his arms. Ajabde had lost all her senses to respond. All she could see was a genuine apology in his eyes. When they reached a safe side, Pratap gently placed ajabde on the ground and remarked,'So you intend on risking your life every time so that I can come and save you huh ajabde?' She blushed at this an said,'No KP I don't expect you to be there for me during my hard times as usual'. Pratap felt the pain in her voice. He said,'Ajabde, I'm sorry. REALLY SORRY. I got carried away by some baseless assumptions and left you. Now, I have realized my mistake. You mean the world to me ajabde,' he continued and held her hand near his chest,'This heart beats for you and currently it is racing because of your touch. Can you feel it?' Ajabe could indeed feel it and blushed at his comment. Pratap, seeing her melt, brought her near to him and held her waist tightly while ajabde lowered her eyes. Pratap concentrated on her luscious lips and came near to her to kiss her. As he was about to kiss her, ajabde turned away leaving pratap only a patch of her silky hair to hold upon. Pratap was confused at her sudden reaction. That was when the disappearing figure of ajabde turned back, smiled and said,'KP you have still a half brinjal to cut. Hope you are successful but yes, brinjals should be cut before they get spoilt.' With that she left. Pratap comprehended her comment easily and mumbled,'More two days ajabde and the brinjal will be cut without getting spoilt.
