hmm I dont think gauna was applicable to our praja..definitely not prevalent in 15th century...I feel it would have come into existence a bit later...maybe 18th-19th century...coz they would have seen how girls ka health and well being gets affected...

I agree...real action needs to come back soon...they need to show pratap-jalal track properly...as for romance...our kids are just doing marvellous job😳

I see, so basically during 15th-16th century girls would get married young and they would gave birth to a child but after tht they would get physically unhealthy, rit? So someone Mahan came up with this Gauna tradition. That's very interesting.

I mean CVs could've done it like PrAja getting married, all the needed marriage rituals, and they should just have skipped the SR part, showed some after marriage moments, and then leap.
There they can start it like RP running behin a child calling, ruk jaiya, ruk jaiye Amar, kitna bhagayengi aap apni Rani Maa ko? That would be cute. And the SM taking the kid in his arms and saving him from Ajab kuch aisa hi.
See sab kuch achhe se ho jaata.

P.S. This would just have made things easier isn't it?

uff! Celu nice imagination
But instead of RP, I would like to see our doll Roshni running behind AS 🤣
I kno, I kno...my imagination is too bold ☺️ but hey...it's doesn't hurt to imagine like tht 😛 😆

And whatever scene CV's are going to show between older PrAja...I am always gonna imagine my RoSal tohu 😆 *gutter mind.* 🤪 🤣

I know everybody is wondering what was the googly HB threw yesterday😆 Ajab will stay with her for few years and come back to chittor...

I guess its gauna

Gauna is a northern Indian custom and the ceremony associated with the consummation of marriage. It is associated with the custom of child marriage[1] The ceremony takes place several years after marriage.[2][3] Before the ceremony the bride stays at her natal home.[4]Marriage is considered only as a ritual union and conjugal life begins only after gauna; that is marriage is consummated only after the gauna ceremony.[5]

Now as I understand, the tradition is there, so that the girl should not be complicated with an early pregnancy and hence risk on her life and even the baby...

so once she attains puberty and somewhat is older, she can come back to her sasural...

Now ofcourse in case of real praja, amar singh came 2 years into the marriage, so by the time ajab was 17 and pratap was 19, amar singh had come...

on the show praja are 17 and 15 respectively right?

so there was no gauna during 15th century? ajabdeh definitely wouldnt have gone back to bijolia, if amar singh came so soon😆

any idea, when did the gauna tradition start exactly? as far as I get, if kids are married at early age - like 8 or 9, then girl should be sent away for gauna, since the girl hasnt attained puberty...

CVs are definitely gona start with praja all over again looks like post leap - establish them all over again

Moumi too said that instead they should have directly shown praja + amar...5 years later...again praja lovestory and then praphool...how much time will they again waste...by the time we see some real movement in the story with chittor fleeing, and chittor attack by akbar and haldighati and all?

hello hiral !
u hav raised a very interesting question that a lazy history buff like me couldnt help joining in the discussion.yes, u said correctly about the gauna tradition. as far as evil customs in rajput traditions like child marriage, sati and others are concerned they came to live after witnessing the horrors of tortures the foreign invaders like turks, pathans, afgans and the mughals inflicted upon them...when the average life span of a person started shrinking lower because of their mindless slaughters, when raping and looting women became a weapon to gain submissions.so the culture of getting a daughter married at the tender age of 3 , 5, 7 started and hence gauna ceremony became necessary. during rana pratap's time women of rujput royalty were not married that early that a gauna ceremony had to be . Royal household women were educated, taught to sing,to draw and paint, cook, recite poetry and play veena, sew and embroider, play chess and ofcouse rige a horse and wield a sword ! they were groomed to be an ideal life partner of a rajpoot maharana...and these trainings took time obviously ! usually girls were married at the age of 14,15 or 16. A sodhashi ( 16 yrs old maiden) was coveted to all. rajpoot men also got married at the same agebcoz by then they hav established themselves as a brave warrior ready for the world .
so, if thew show gauna for praja that would be ridiculous...even history says kunwar amar singh was born after one yr of the marriage. it was pretty common in those days all around the world to hav a child at the age of 16/17 .

Don't Know when gauna started exactly ! But i know it was followed in the 17th century . I have seen in The Great Marathas , Mahadji Scindhia wedding took place in childhood and her wife used to be in her natal home only. I am sure Gauna was not there in 15th century .Bhago lives with chakri yaar how can they leave ajab in bijolia then ? 😳

CVS gonna give us gauna tradition so that they can start praja love story post leap with the adult cast .

Honestly Amar Singh was born a year after Pratap and Ajabde wedding. There was no gauna earlier. I mean in MP's times.
This is creative liberty by CVs. Huge one at that!

They did the same with JKR when they introduced fictitious separation between Manu and Raja Gangadhar as no pregnancy or SR could be shown with a teenaged girl.

smthg else that might b bhnd a 'ee-establishmt of Praja' is an attempt to erase some memories if Faisal and Roshni. these cvs know how much we love these kids this is why (imo) the leap is only taking place now.
