Thanks Pankhu...so I guess ur and Shreya's explanation goes perfectly hand in hand...she too said that it was a by-product, result of aftermath of torture inflicted by invaders...including mughals...so it would have started with early child marriages in late 16th - early 17th century...to get a girl committed early and at the same time protect her health by having a gauna later...Originally posted by: pankhudi_TiaRa
Don't Know when gauna started exactly ! But i know it was followed in the 17th century . I have seen in The Great Marathas , Mahadji Scindhia wedding took place in childhood and her wife used to be in her natal home only. I am sure Gauna was not there in 15th century .Bhago lives with chakri yaar how can they leave ajab in bijolia then ? 😳
CVS gonna give us gauna tradition so that they can start praja love story post leap with the adult cast .
