Making this topic to share trivia about the show, its making, team etc.

This is ONLY for trivia related to things about the show. Not about Maharana Pratap himself unlike history threads.

First off, an item from Gr8! magazine about casting of the show and the extensive search for the perfect horse to be Chetak!

The casting for SET's forthcoming historical drama Maharana Pratap is going on in earnest. Apart from the actors, the makers are yet to find the most important character and that is the Rajput warrior's horse Chetak..

Sources say that horses are being scouted from across India, especially from the northern belt where there are stud farms. Producer Abhimanyu Singh confirms, "The horse is an integral part of the story. There have been many famous tales about Maharana and the valor of the Chetak. We have even checked a few horses that were part of the President's bodyguard team and shortlisted a few horses but have yet to finalize on one."

Trivia on costumes in Maharana Pratap:

BKVPMP costume designer has received a lot of praise from Maharaja of Udaipur himself, an extract:

"... adds the designer who has also styled Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap. "The Maharaja of Udaipur called me and said I have come up with the exact replica, which is a big compliment," smiles Neerusha who is also working on the look of Hatim."

Extract on MP costumes in an article on costume dramas in Dainik Bhaskar

Designer says clothes in those days were heavy (aur kapde bade hote the). Dheerbai has been given costumes of deep, dark colours to establish her negative character. Sajjabai is cheerful and happy go lucky, so she has been dressed in colourful and bright clothes.
Rajasthani queens' outfits did not have collars. But Jaiwantabai has been made to wear a dress with a collar to establish her character as Rani ma and eldest queen.

Each outfit has kundan work and delicate zardosi work.

Each lehenga of all queens weighs at least 50 kgs!

The basic metal in jewellery is silver which has work of uncut diamonds and kundan on it.

Before deciding upon any piece of clothes or jewellery for characters, the team takes into account factors like character's nature, fabric, colours, stitching, look etc.
