A glance at the Cast of Jinn

Main

Vikram Singh Chauhan - Aman Junaid Khan

Vikram Singh Chauhan made his debut as an actor in the popular show Qubool Hai. From then on he appeared in numerous shows like Million Dollar Girl & others. For those of you who have seen Ek Hasina Thi he wowed one & all in his role of Vyom the lead antagonist. So much so that some of the members started rooting for him to get the girl. 😉

In Jinn he plays a young and handsome Nawab who is reeling under the shadow of an all powerful Jinn. He possesses the Jinn’s powers & transforms into a beast like creature. Can Roshni save him ?

Aditi Sharma - Roshni

Aditi Sharma made her debut with the show Kaleerein. There she played the very charming Meera Dhingra.

Here she plays the daughter of a Tawaif who is searching for answers regarding her birth parents. Her ambition in life is to open a bakery. She possibly has powers of an angel or a fairy like the Daivik of Nazar. In this show she plays the love interest of Aman who will help him in his battle against the Jinn with her love.

Supporting / Recurring Cast :

Saloni Daini - Narrator / Fairy Maddy / Tara sister of Aman

Better known as 'Gangu Bai' in the entertainment industry, she was the one who gave the voiceover in all those teasers. She will be playing Aman’s sister in the show. She’s also the 1200 year old Fairy Maddy who’ll be narrating the the first few episodes.

Smita Bansal - Aman’s Mother Parveen

A doting mother she would do anything to protect her son from the Jinn.

Sushant Singh - Aman’s Father

He made a deal with the Jinn for power & riches because of which the Jinn has now come for Aman. Known for his corrupt practices he ruined a lot of innocent lives for personal gain. He was the one who put Roshni as a baby into the river.

Garima Vikrant Singh - Roshni’s stepmother / Tawaif

She rescued Roshni as a baby. She believes that a tawaif’s daughter will remain just that nobody would see them differently. She wants her daughter to earn money for her.

From the time they aired the first teaser it captured my imagination. As i’m sure it has everyone else’s. The promise of a strong male villain, sorcerers & magic, beautiful visuals together with that oh so hummable Kahani Humari stayed in my mind long after the promo finished airing.

From then on i was greedy for any new information they provided be it any new articles, star’s interviews & other teasers. Throughout it all there stayed a question at the back of my mind which i look forward to being answered. Will it be a purely supernatural show like Nazar or will it be an everyday daily soap drama ?

Before giving the recap i wanted to discuss the factors that drew me to Jinn.

The Jinn & it’s world building - Coming from the makers of Nazar I’m confident they will reinvent the mythology of Jinn just like they did with the Daayan. It is as yet an unexplored concept in itv. Then there’s the imaginative world building that they’ve already displayed in Nazar. I am curious in the absence of hindu god’s & goddess what new concepts they would bring in. We’ve got a talented team helmed by Director Atif Khan. So I’m confident of the final product.

The OST - Be it Soulful tracks like Saajna or rousing one’s like Namo Namah or the Daayan’s anthem they always churn out good music. We already got a taste of it in Kahani Humari. So music is another thing i look forward to.

Exploring a new culture - We’ve never had a supernatural show with a muslim backdrop before, combined with the charm of Nawabs, beautiful palaces, the refined language etc i was hooked. And yes the charismatic leads Aman & Roshni and their fairy tail like love story.

It remains to be seen whether the expectations raised by the promo will realised in the show ? Let’s find out.

Note : This a one time recap only

Monday’s Recap : Meet Aman & Roshni

Image

The episode opens with 3 boys taking a road trip passing by a river on either side of the road. Turns out they’re helping their friend escape the clutches of a Jinn. While his friend is clearly freaking out about this, the one driving is sceptical about this so called Djinn. The friend explains that just like there are ghosts & fairies there are Djinns in this world. People go to them for help for various reasons, it could be for beauty for riches etc. In exchange they have to agree to the Djinn’s demands. His father too made a deal with the Djinn to become rich. “What if they don’t agree to pay then ?” the one driving curiously asks. “Then the Djinn personally comes to collect payment himself ! ” the third friend chimes in ominously.

Image

Just as the friend driving scolds them for unnecessarily scaring themselves, he sees something that causes him to abruptly pull on the brakes. The car spins around throwing his friends out of their seats. They're about to upbraid him for it, when he points at a terrifying sight. There appearing out of the fog is the mythical Jinn making his intro with appropriately spooky background music.

Image

All three sit petrified while he menacingly approaches them causing the ground to rumble with every step he takes. Gathering their wits they try to drive out from there but the car stays put with the tires squealing in protest. ( Uh-oh 😲) Trying to get out they find the car doors locked. All the while the Jinn steadily closes the distance between them. He stoops down from his great height to peer at them to reveal one huge eyeball ( Yikes ! 🥶) Heart pounding in their chest they wait for his next move. He doesn’t disappoint. The Jinn crushes their car with his bare hands as if munching on fruit loops including it’s passengers. Having demolished the car he tosses it’s remains into the river. (Ouch 😕)

Image

Our narrator comments on people’s limited imagination. Jinn & fairies don’t just exist in books they are real. And who should our narrator be but a cheeky 😉 1200 year old fairy guarding the water fountain. Meet Maddy she’s here to guide you on the magical love story of Aman & Roshni. But first let’s meet our leads.

Image

We then see a young man who is being waited upon hand & foot via magic. The tea pot pours him a cup of tea, toasts butter themselves etc. etc. Just like in the promo. This is Aman Junaid Khan ! Only for everything to come to a crashing halt when his dadi catches him red handed. They rehash an old argument. She scolds him for his use of magic, to keeping a pet eagle, to his choice of clothes. He is getting married after all so he should dress to look different from the rest.

Bad choice of words ! It serves to reminds him how different he really is ! We see flashes of a beast like creature. Frustrated he asks his reflection in the mirror “Why am i like this ? “ Dadi as usual tries to change the subject. But Aman wants to know the truth , why does he have these powers, powers that only a Jin..Dadi cuts him off mid way. She forbids him to speak that name in this house ever again. Regarding his questions she doesn’t have the answers either. Except our narrator Maddy knows she’s lying ! Dadi can’t bring herself to tell him the truth, that a Jinn is after him...

Image

The fairy continues if Jinn’s exists then so do Angels & also human beings who possess angel like qualities. The scene shifts to a balcony where we see many sparrows feeding from a bird bath & eating leftovers from a breakfast tray. Generally making a mess of things. Annoyed a women who we later come to know is Roshni’s mom ( Garima Singh) chases away all the sparrows. Only for Roshni to again fill the bird bath when she turns away. Holding the grains in her hands she whistles for the sparrows. They happily feed from her. Fashioning a crown from twigs they crown her as a reward. Our narrator introduces her as a tawaif with a golden heart. We leave her to dance in joy as the scene shifts back to Aman’s house.

Image

While everyone in the house is busy preparing for his marriage Aman looks around for his ami. He worries that ami would be missing abu at such an important time. Dadi yells at him for always starting this topic. She looks really agitated. To appease her Aman promises not to bring up abu again. Mood restored he again asks for his ami. Dadi points her out to him. We then see a radiant Smitha Bhansal aka Parveen. She is all smiles & laughs as she reassures her son she is all right. In response he tenderly kisses her forhead ( Aww ). She hugs him back while she hides her worries from him. Both Dadi & Parveen share a heavy look. ( What exactly are the women hiding from him ? 😲)

Whatever it is we aren’t kept in suspense much longer. While Aman goes for the Chand Raat celebration Dadi shares her worries with Parveen. It hurts her heart to hide the truth from him, but how can she tell him the root cause of all his problems is his own abu ! Scene flashes back to his father who is none other than Sushant Singh. Parveen replies it their duty to protect Aman even if it means lying to him. But dadi fears that the Jinn will come to extract his payment in exchange for fulfilling a wish. Parveen doesn’t think so. More pressing is how to hide his father’s bad deeds from him.

Image

We are treated to some more flashbacks...Aman’s abu holding a briefcase full of money....He & a woman hugging a man while sporting a calculating look...He ruined so many lives, took many lives Parveen recounts...A plane crashes & we see him coolly walking away from the wreckage leaving a couple to die. The worst offence was throwing baby Roshni into the river... We know it’s her because she was wearing a golden bangle at the time. The same one Roshni currently holds in her hands.

Image

Holding the only link to her past. She asks for her mother to confirm again how she rescued her. Mom apparently found her in a basket with 4 birds guarding her and fished her out from the river.

Mom though is more concerned as to why Roshni refused to dance at the MLA’s son’s wedding reception especially when she was offered a huge sum. It wasn’t as if she was asking her to do a mujra. We come to know they’re facing financial difficulties. Roshni plans on earning money by opening her own bakery. (😒 Roshni you’ll forget all about your bakery once you get involved with Aman) Ami wants her to stop running away from the truth. She is a tawaif’s daughter & people won’t see her any differently. It’s a painful subject but Roshni doesn’t let herself get discouraged. “Ami if we want the world to respect us we need to respect ourselves first ! “ Roshni tells her ( Atta Girl 👏). So saying she prepares to go to the Chand Raat celebration. It is said tonight whatever you wish for will be fullfilled. What she most desperately yearns for is answers about her past. She has a feeling those answers will find her tonight.

No truer words spoken for we see Aman parking his car in the mosque courtyards. As Roshni leaves mom warns her against bringing any scratches to the car. She bought it for 2.5 lakhs.

Image

Maddy continues narrating while Roshni is looking for her past, Aman’s past was looking for him. Waiting in the clouds is the Jinn who's come to collect his dues. As Aman continues walking the Jinn’s shadow approaches him. Should it’s shadow fall fully on him Aman would forever become his. While on one side darkness was approaching him, the other side was Roshni who drives into the courtyard. Bending down to pick up her water bottle she accidentally collides with Aman’s parked car damaging it's rear end in the process. About to step into the Jinn's shadow Aman halts & turns around to inspect the damages.

All the while the shadow follows closely behind. There Roshni too gets out. Horrified by visions of going to Jail & ami selling off her bangle in her absence Roshni resolves not let him get his way. Stepping in front of Aman to confront him she accidentally steps into the Jinn’s shadow. It dissolves away into black mist startling even the Jinn. Interesting 🤔

Going on the offensive she accuses him for irresponsibly parking a big car. Poor guy ! she doesn’t let him get in a word edgewise. He clearly doesn’t want any money nor the 5 kilo Nankathai’s she offers as compensation. By this time our heroine goes too far by calling him a ‘Amir Baap Ki Bigri hui Aulaad’. He asks her not to mention his dad’s name. Oblivious to the warning signs she finishes her rant by mentioning fathers who always spoil their sons, accusing him of going crying to his abu about the broken car... Leaving him with the 5 kilo mithai ke dabba’s she stalks away triumphantly.

Our hero pained by her words takes out his anger on her car. The car flies above her head and crashes in front her. Yup the car is totally destroyed . Oh my Lawd
☢️ ( That’s the 2nd car that got demolished today. Somebody is a major Rohit Shetty fan ! ) Poor Roshni is shattered seeing her car in pieces. 🥺

Image

Aman goes to offer his prayers at the dargah. About to leave he finds Roshni there as well tearfully offering up her prayers. And we get the scene of the second promo. He looks at her remembering the flying car, she finds him looking at her and turns her head away in reproach. Scene then shifts to his house. The woman of the house are busy organising everything, when suddenly the clock strikes at 6:25 To Parveen’s Dadi & the 3rd woman’s horror it continues to chime. It’s the first of the three sign’s of the Jinn’s coming Dadi shakily notes.

In the dargah Aman is about to leave when the chandelier & everything else starts to shake. Looming high above the dargah is the Jinn ! Cracks appear everywhere in the structure, the building is about collapse, people run away helter skelter. Aman & Roshni can only watch the destruction in horror. Suddenly a child’s cry can be heard. Roshni rescues him at great risk to her life.

Image

Back at the house all three women run to the swimming pool. To their horror it completely freezes over. This is the 2nd sign ! Parveen notes. At the dargah everything comes crashing down. Aman summons Baazigar his eagle who turns into a wand. Crying out Kiya Mifa he stops the top most structure from falling onto the people below. Roshni having deposited the child to his mom, turns around to see everything in suspended animation. Putting aside her astonishment she pulls a woman out from under there. Everyone else gets safely out from there as well. Only then does Aman release his hold over everything. It all comes crashing down.

Breathless from his exertions he views the destruction around him. In the background we see the Jinn. Our fairy sadly notes “At last the Jinn found Aman ! “

Image

Precap : Aman grabs hold of his ami’s hand as she’s leaving. As she turns to face him we see his eyes turn ice blue & his hands & feet grow monstrous nails. Next scene they show a beast like creature hiding behind Parveen & another woman. They’re acutely conscious of him. He flies from behind them but he’s too swift to be recognised. Next scene we see the beast in his room throw a cupboard at Parveen.

My Thoughts

Phew 😅 What an action packed episode specially the last few minutes. Those scenes gave me goosebumps. My favourite moment was when he called out for Baazigar. I am happy to note that it did indeed live up to my expectations. Although it’s still too early to tell whether it will go the saas bahu route or not. I’m am impressed with how they planned this episode actually. They packed this episode with just the right amount of details for the main characters to satisfy our curiosity at the same time left us wanting to know more. At no time did the episode lag it was fast paced throughout. Now that we’ve got everyone’s intro out of the way we can look forward to the main action.

The story of Aman & Roshni reminded me of Beauty & the Beast. A handsome prince stuck in his castle, cursed to be a beast until true love can free him. A plucky heroine fated to save him. That scene with those tea cups & pots etc reminded me of the characters from Disney version. You know Mrs Pots, Chip, Lumière... The overall tone of the episode had this outer worldly feel to it like something out of a fairy tale.

Visually the episode was a delight to the eyes. The sets and the use of color schemes for both Roshni’s & Aman’s home. The beautiful yet simple costumes that was designed for them. I was struck by how radiant Smita looked & Garima’s look reminded me of Rani Mukherjee’s in Sawariya. VFX was awesome 👏🏻 specially in the last few minutes. And the car 😭 James Bond film is one thing but when you wreck the car of the middle class that hurts. For a minute there I actually thought i was watching a Rohit Shetty film seeing the no. of cars being wrecked today.

Coming to our leads i liked Aditi’s sassy Roshni & her ‘Allah knows best ! ‘. It reminded me of Piya’s Lapu Jharna. That scene when she’s feeding the sparrows she looked gorgeous. Overall Roshni is likeable. Her powers too reminded me of a Daivik’s. Similarly Vikram plays a very subdued introverted guy with hidden depths. It reminded me a bit of Ansh.

Some of the other themes in this gave me Nazar deja vu... Jinn’s shadow is like Daayan chakra to Aman’s eyes glowing icy blue like Ansh’s glows golden. Aman’s dad like Ansh’s mom is evil. The thing about Jinn is they’ve so far shown only the CGI version. I’m curious whether they have finalised any actor for it or are we going to be treated to CGI only. Speaking of Aman’s dad i knew Sushant Singh would have a meaty role in this. I don’t think he’s the Jinn tho. He’s taken up Savdhaan India. Playing a Jinn would require a full time commitment. Same with Smita Bhansal she’s listed as recurring cast not regular cast member.

Now that i get to watch Nazar & Jinn daily. It’s Happy Hour for me 😊 ! I plan on watching them in the night except for the times when i recap Nazar. I’ll be honest I don’t enjoy watching it in the morning. Anyone who wants to have a discussion with me can find me in the evenings.

This Friday I won’t be recapping Nazar i’ll start next Monday !

Happy discussions to all ! 🥳

🙋‍♀️ Hi Harshada been a long time.

I’m posting my answer to the question u posted in your title “How justified is it for Aman to misunderstand Roshni ? “

None ! He has zero grounds to misunderstand / ill treat her. Why do i say that..

Morality, woh cheez hoti hai jo tumhein permission de, to do something truly horrible, only to give yourself a pat on the back later on saying ‘ I did no wrong !’

🕵🏻‍♀️ Let’s examine Aman’s actions on both those occasions

First the money throwing incident...

He’s disappointed the Ayaana didn’t cure his ami & how does he choose to take out his frustrations ... He chooses to forget his insaniyat & devalue her in the worst possible way. Why ?? Another woman broke his ami’s home ( his past ) + she’s a tawaif so naturally she’s a low character like that home wrecker. See his reasoning..

🤨 Every human being has a right to their dignity be it even sex workers ! Aman has zero remorse for his actions cause according to him ‘ He did no wrong ! ’

🤔 You might argue ah but his past is just so tragic 😭 no ? So it’s understandable his mu. B_ll sh-t ! Having a painful past is one thing & punishing an innocent bystander for it is another ! In his heart Aman is fully aware of what he’s doing. He damn well knows Roshni has nothing do with his dad leaving them but it’s ok to punish her for it. It’s blo_dy unforgivable !

Second his kidnapping Ro for marriage...

He needs to marry her to save his ami’s life. He’s hesitant to force the girl. But the minute he finds about the husband’s first wife it’s completely permissible for him to not only kidnap her but to buy her services. After all he’s doing a great samaj seva by saving that first wife’s marriage. His morality gave him that permission...

Ya but what if in another universe she really was doing what he thought. I want to ask...

Whether she is a tawaif / gold digger or not why does she owe him an explanation for her choices ? 🤷🏻‍♀️ At that point of time they’re complete strangers aren’t they ?

Even if she is one why is it ok to sl_t shame her ?

And can someone tell me why should a woman’s self-worth be tied to a man’s judgement ? He gets to decide whether she’s a good woman or charitraheen. This is the 21st century not the damn 19th century !

(🤫 Ps : If being someone’s daughter earns her the title of tawaif what about people who have pre- marital sex these days or 😲 gasp* goodness children born out of wedlock. Does that mean they’re tawaif’s too ?? )

Lastly why is it acceptable for an ITV romantic hero to have such low standards , because he’s pretty ! Even in romance novels these days the heroes have evolved. And l’m not asking the romantic hero to be a feminist but atleast don’t be sexist !

I mean no offence to any fan’s sentiments I’m just pissed off at what was shown.

Hello Everybody 🤗 I'm back had a great vacay. Planned on participating yesterday unfortunately still tired from the trip

The highlights for this week's track for me was

Image

Return of EDV + that highly anticipated bathtub inauguration - My reaction Drool 😛 😜😍 😘 😍 That smirk, that swagger, those taunt muscles ☢️ ☢️ ☢️ God he's hot !! Can we keep him ? Pretty pls

Need i say more 😉

Image

My reaction to the 3d - Daayan printer - 🤣 OMG LMAO I freaking love it !! 👏 Can i have one of those ? Want to switch my mom with one of these. Would definitely enliven my dull evenings 😉

Image

Captain Hook & her band of lil Peter Pans - I gotta say i dig this new look of Mo. 😉 Mo did me proud this week. 👏 Even tho i knew it would be left upto Moad ultimately to rescue Rathods. Still I was impressed with her cunning. She knows how to win a fight even when outnumbered. 😘 Dil Khush Kar Dita

Image

And Riad the adorable kids 🤗are no less smart when it comes to dealing with their enemies. They keep their cool even under fire

Seeing Moad making a entrance i half wish for a fight sequence like the Moansh one (Naman-Piya’s wedding) . I guess they are too young for it but it would be so exciting.

Image

Daayan Jod - The whole time this was happening i had my eyes covered with only a small hole to look through my fingers 😬. Bracing myself for the inveitable disappointment , I fully expected Sanskari Devi to be rescued. Surprise Surprise Operation Daayan Jod was successful ! Evil Vedi is always so much fun whenever she makes an appearance. During Piya's pregnancy track when Mo turned her evil & they both took up the sword. That Ved had solid zingers 👍🏼 Not to mention Evil Daayan Ved was a hoot😉. Double Ved was entertaining this week. 👏 I bet Ritu Chaudhry has fun enacting those scenes. So if they permit MDV tomorrow that will make my day !! 🤗

I wish SD could dissapear forever & MDV remained permanently. Too much ask 🤔 Sigh i'll be lucky if they have her even for a day.

I'm also happy that Daayan Rathods get to stick around a bit longer. Chai with powers & flirty Shekhar were awesome 😆 It be great if she dumped the real Shekharji to go off into the sunset with this version.

Ansh i already showed my appreciation 😁

That was about the things i liked in this track. Now let’s talk about the things I didn’t like 🤷‍♀️

Losing a beloved family member so suddenly like that I understand how you would want to revive them at any cost. At that time you wouldn’t be thinking about destroying the ashes. Poor Shekharji 😭 I felt bad for him. But for a Rivavanshi to think like that it is unacceptable. For him first & foremost should be to assess the danger & to eliminate the threat. If not then to take steps to safeguard the family. Not plan how to outsmart Mo.

He can't give in to emotional foolishness or make promises he has no way of fulfilling. Divya in his place would have manned up in the situation. She would have tried to make Piansh aware of the dangers. 🤷‍♀️ Mo was the only one who was talking sense the entire epi. Atleast Piansh later on should have realised they had small children & family members who have no powers. If they can't think about destroying the ashes then atleast take measures to protect themselves. Not i repeat how to save the ashes from Mo. There's also the matter of other duplicate daayans roaming around.

I felt bad for Ni. Had he been a real person he would have experienced burnout by now. He's constantly under pressure to come up with ek tareeka hai. Ni u need to say no at times.

Mo - Piansh final scene There is a saying never mix Business with Pleasure. I want to add here don't mix Rishteydaari with Business . 🤦‍♀️ This wasn't the time rehash old wounds. There is no such thing as free passes from family atleast not with Mo. An enemy of your enemy is your ally so what difference does it make what motivations they had to help you..Morality wasn't needed here.

Mo whatever she is, is fully capable of protecting herself. If she doesn't have strength she has street smarts. What about Piansh. Can they say the same. If yes then what about Riad or Rathods ? Can they protect themselves or does Piansh have the confidence to protect them ?

This wasn't the time to alienate Mo but to make full use of her. She was the only one thinking clearly here. Shekhar’s attack was ill timed.

Mo - I get why she would be in a snit & refuse to help stop MDV's ressurection . What i don't get is, how can the woman who previously never lost sight of her goals give in to a silly tantrum just to spite the Rathods.

While i applaud her cunning, i have a hard time believing the woman who previously fought in against Dil in that rain car scene & who fought with Ansh during Naman's wedding, could be so powerless against a choti grab. Sigh i miss the raw fights of those days. Mo has lost her mojo

Naman - I didn't enjoy his track this week. I prefer him as a normal man than a chudail. I hope he comes back to his human form. I did like the inclusion of chote ustad tho. Their pairing reminded me of Vikram & Gabru's jodi ( Shhh koi hai ) I'm curious to know where his track is going i don't want it to be aimless, put there just for laughs. Then again the makers are known to surprise us.

You asked me Nikki why I couldn’t connect with Piansh. Like i said my problem first & foremost is Ansh.

In the beginning they were complete strangers yet between them there was this slowly growing awareness like tempered fire whose temperature steadily kept rising. They were strangers but not quite. The only witness to their unspoken attraction was their song Saajna - A soulful melody. Pure Magic ! Their feelings culminated in a very erotic back kiss. So chaste yet charged with eroticized fantasies. I remembered srk - madhuri...

😞 And then you lost me at Ansh crashing Piya Naman’s wedding. Picture this you’re sharing a passionate gaze with this incredibly sexy guy across the room. And then he pushes you romantically against the wall. Cornering you he slams his hand on the wall behind you. You want to move but he arrests you with his smouldering gaze & the first words that come out of his mouth is... “ I don’t care that you stay, lekin tumhain yaha rehna hai Piya kyunki Maa chahati hai” 🤦🏻‍♀️

Huh ? Seriously your mom is the most romantic thing to you. That dialogue so wrong on so many levels. Total mismatch to the romantic tension you had there going. Real mood killer !

Other instances was when Mo turned Ved into stone. Before Ved could fall to the floor Ansh swoops in to romantically catch her in his arms & possessively gaze at her like she is his GF. I could clearly hear the director's instructions bts.

That scene was so... 😞

Then to rescue his GF he crashes his second gf’s wedding. The one who actually loves him. Girl is waiting for the guy while she marries another man who she doesn’t want. Ansh did interrupt Naman Piya’s wedding but he did it for all the wrong reasons. It was clear as day he didn’t care a damn Piya was marrying another man, any man for that matter. Only that she come help mom. Like that jungle firefly scene didn’t happen. Not what I expect from a romantic hero..

🙄 It didn’t exactly help Piansh’s fans tunnel vision by this time. I should have avoided the forum that time. I love romance as much the next person but if you ask me to have the same thing for breakfast, lunch & dinner every single day I will get bored.

They were only interested in discussing Piansh & only Piansh. Every episode’s every scene’s merit was discussed on the amount of screen space Piansh got. If there was romance it was the best episode ever. If they got minimum screentime Nazar was thoroughly thrashed like it the worst serial in the world. Didn’t matter about other actors, tracks, vfx etc. Other topic discussions were virtually nonexistent. Other Piansh fans too got turned off by this. Speaking about the main topic for discussion Piansh. You needed to watch what you said lest you offended sentiments. Like walking on eggshells. Offscreen too tunnel vision was carried forward. In the cast’s group photos laser focus was on Harsh Niyati’s pairing like the other people in the photo didn’t exist. Itna craze toh mera Mo ka bhi nahi hai bhai ! Mind u I don’t get Mo every time in the serial either.

Nazar gives balanced tracks. Not just the leads even supporting cast get their due. It has got everything for everyone. Someone’s looking for romance they get that, for family bonding, those looking for supernatural, stunts, for comedy, for Mo, for Daayans etc. Not just romance it’s a mixed bouquet of genres. Such shows are hard to come by. 300 + shows on itv these days are only about romance, so why can’t this show be embraced for it’s uniqueness ? Why insist on turning it the same like other shows. Even I don’t see it as purely a Mo show !

Bottom line : If u do Piansh bhajan 24 / 7 i will get pakaoed !! 🍳 It’s not like I set my heart against Piansh. Yaar mujhe bhi mauka do to like them ! But i digress the other reason i lost interest was the other half of this relationship Piya.

Most of the serial’s duration i found her character problematic. Pre wedding she
rivalled even Ved in the ganga Jamuna dept 😭 😭 and that wide eyed look of innocence looked too artificial. I hate damsels in distress ! Thankfully post wedding she upgraded. Divya’s death gave her the necessary kick in the pants she needed. As Sarpika she was badass 😍. To be fair i did try to revive my interest in their romance. For a while i did succeed....

Post - leap she turned into a doormat. Had she accepted Ansh without a fight audience would have erupted. So they played it safe she was enough of a firebrand to appease the audience without doing anything to upset deeply problematic indian traditions.

Case in point in 6 yrs she decided to separate from Ansh fine but throughout the separation including Ansh’s engagement she still wore the mangalsutra & sindoor. Neither did she move on. Whenever Ansh spewed his hate filled nonsense. She never interrupted just a hurt filled Ansh & went still. She even tried on occasions to prove her innocence to him. When she finally did tell him off she left him the kids rather than take them with her. The condition of her returning to motherhood was to accept being a wife first. During the namah track she said those terribly old fashioned dialogues about her swarg being her pati etc. In reality she never really stood up for herself.

Final nail in the coffin for me was how this relationship ultimately shaped up. To me they didn’t really have a solid foundation to build upon. Yes some of the times they showed trust, mutual understanding, teamwork etc. But mostly it looked like chemistry wala love b/w two incredibly good looking people. That’s all ! There’s nothing real about them. For me atleast.

That’s why Nikki i found the romance quotient of Nazar boring. smiley26 By the time the suhaag raat epi finally came I skipped it entirely.

Lastly to anyone reading this. I mean no offence to Piansh fans sentiments or any fans sentiments for that matter. The purpose of post isn't intended to mock any fans sentiments. I just had some bottled up feelings & this is a safe place for me to vent.
