Right in the beginning of the season, Vandana had said something with utter bitterness, " A fruit of a tree never falls far from the tree." Maya is the fruit of Ashwin and Jhanvi - An abuser and a victim!! What sort of fruit would that mix be - Probably one who is a victim as well as an abuser!!
Maya, the cold, cynical woman who had famously said, "We should control love; Love ought not to control us when love controls us - destroy it! " is practicing what she preached, she is trying to control each and every action of Arjun, his breath, his very existence in the firm belief that she is in control of her love. Maya has offered immense wealth, status, riches and in return has sought total dominance and control over her victim!. If Arjun even thinks about rebelling, emotional manipulations kick in, Maya knows the chords to jerk and reel in the wavering Arjun- a man whose only flaw was, in getting attracted to the package Maya brought with her. Arjun has made feeble attempts to break free but has been forced to toe the line drawn by Maya. Oh!! yes, the daughter of Ashwin lives on reveling in her glorified delusions.
However, Arjun is not someone to surrender meekly, when pushed he too fights back although not as ruthlessly as Maya! He knows where and how to hurt Maya, he employs those methods. Arjun enjoys the pain that he knowingly inflicts on Maya. Maya, the woman who cannot see even a scratch has to see blood dripping from the body of the man she worships. Unfortunately, this self-inflicted punishment is something that Maya does not have the power to stop. She cries, tries to allay his pain not wanting to understand that SHE is the Pain!
When Arjun wishes to be free, her heart breaks. She is willing to go to any lengths to stay with him, accept his conditions. But when Arjun remains adamant, she does the only thing possible for jhanvi's daughter - She gives up her life!!
How will Maya reconcile the dichotomy of the controller and the victim? what will happen when her illusion shatters into million pieces? Shatter they will because Samaya has unleashed the arrow called Saanjh towards the defenseless world of Arjun and Maya. Will Maya destroy the 'Love'? or Will she regain the control not as she perceived but as it should be??
