its so sad..
our show deffo deserves betr trps..

Even our rival show which is pretty new, (ghulaam which airs @ 9 on life ok ) has gone up to 0.8 now. Ive seen a few eps of it. d female lead is so weak & keeps cryin all d tym. dey torture dat poor girl so much, dat it gets difficult 2 watch d scenes.

I guess ppl like to watch shows whr eithr d bahu is helpless/ or bein tortured. sick! 😡

I have watched some shows on other channels that started off as unique, but due to the pressure of the channel was forced to incorporate the typical saas-bahu drama. The only reason I continued watching those shows was for the amazing pairings and the original plot that promised something different. I still haven't been able to understand where channels and CVs find the need to change a perfectly good story by incorporating overdramatic scenes, unrealistic characterizations and unbelievable plots in the name of suspense/thrill/trps. Some really great shows have been ruined because of this pressure and in the process some family-oriented shows are spun into something unwatchable and headache inducing.

At the same time I feel this idea of "saas-bahu" generalizes many shows and leads so many shows that have unique concepts to be misjudged. For example, other than Maya's character, that of a strong and multifaceted female lead, Maya's parents and Saanjh's character, everything else in the show is similar to many shows I have seen in the past- the overdramatic quotient and the ways they sometimes try to butcher saanjh's character by showing her as more of a saint in-comparison to maya. And how can I forget vandana's distaste for Maya. I stopped watching the show, but come here to get updates. I am just glad this is a finite series (I think all indian shows should have caps of 1 yearr, any longer and the chances of it being ruined is much higher). thankfully Beyhadh hasn't butchered Maya as much, and from what I have read Saanjh's character is doing much better. Jennifer-Aneri rock as always 😳 Their talent is truly the backbone of this show.

Sony tv shows usually have low trps and highest online viewership
Clearly shows that their audience if of a much younger generation

Other than that beyhadh has opened with a good trp of .9 and I think the launch of new shows has played a role in lower trps
It should hopefully go back up now that the marriage track has started

I don't mind if they churn out saas -bahu sagas. I don't think the public would mind an independent lady but I guess making her a psycho is the main thing.

can you get money from online trp???
i think thats how beyhadh is doing well with money from online trp

sony show like beyhadh and kuch rang are both hit shows n very popular. i feel if it was on colors or star plus trps will be in thier 2. something
its because of sony, sadly trp is very low

if naagin or saathiya or ishqbaaz aired on sony i think trp will be 0. something.

personally my opinion

EDKV, KRPKAB and more recently Beyhadh were all shows with potentially good content to offer. The one that's relatively new, the one that makes an attempt to try something different, the one that had the scope to challenge the unintelligent content of other shows. Sadly though, the TRP's are such a huge matter for channels that the production houses/show makers/writers are forced to ruin their product beyond recognition just for the sake of trps. It's business for them and loss for the viewers who wants Indian television to change for the better. However, as long as there are masses who somehow enjoy shows like Saath Nibhana Sathiya, Naagin, etc, the hope for change is dim.
