Maya played her cards really well, with this act of her she has gain both sympathy n respect simultaneously from Vandana,Ayan,Saanjh n world.
She also said that pyaar pagal kar dena wala dialogue seeing Arjun and gave credit to him, with this his doubt about ,u trust me or not? is gone(though the ques was done in a light hearted manner, initially ).
I think the scared Maya was the real Maya, who accepted Ashwin bcoz she doesn't want to loose her mom,but is scared to death in front of him.I think that secne wasn't manipulation neither the rectn at the proposal time.As after saying yes,at the time of hugging the way she was seeing Ashwin had confidence not "see I won kinda look".To me she looked quite relaxed ,content n assured.
The Saanjh Maya scene was very well put,the double meaning, the taunts, the threats, all was quite natural and more than that intresting😆

One post please Shruthi Di. I love reading the way you analyse every episode. It helps to see all the characters in various dimensions.
Coming to the episode.
Maya Mehrotra proved that she's the best player and this game will always be played according to her rules.
One thing I loved in the episode is that while everybody believed Maya and Ashwin, they both knew perfectly that the other was playing a game.
That is why I love these two characters so much. They know how to play their game and they know how to win.
The last bit was superb. The way Maya told Ashwin that she knows his game perfectly and his reply was even more superb-"Hoon toh tumhari hi baap Maya baby." I just love their interactions.
I love ArYa too but the two characters I love the most are Maya & Ashwin. These two awesome. I love their mind games and how easily they manipulate everyone around except each other. Once I mentioned in my post, Maya's the perfect opponent for Ashwin because she's the one who got his brilliance, manipulation and FIRE.
P.S.: A special mention to Rajesh Khattar and Jennifer Winget. They portrayed their roles brilliantly. They perfectly enacted Maya & Ashwin's silent war.

Yeah even I love this baap beti ka game . They both know each other so well. That was brilliant when Maya said she knows him & is aware he has not changed kyuki saap kabhi apni chal nahi badal sakte & then he smiled & said that dialogue ! I loved that interaction of dad & daughter. Both were brilliant . Yesterday for the first time I even enjoyed ArYa romance & felt the sparks between them but the last scene of baap beti was too good ...even more than that 😆

This baap beti is brilliant. I just love the way they play games and what I love the most is their dialogues. Short and to the point. That's how people should be.

Someone here called Maya's character un-indian-which is true because usually indian shows never push a character to this extent unless it is the vamp.so I hope audiences don't write off maya as one.

I don't think we are supposed to relate to maya or condone her actions but I understand her, where she comes from and why she does what she does. Because Maya is not doing anything for the greater good, she is only looking out for herself. in simpler words, she is blindly selfish. Again, the root of her problem lies in her childhood- in the most crucial years of a girl's development.

was there a reason to manipulate everything to this extent or even provoke sanjh? no, because arjun is already hers, arjun only loves her and she should have just given time for everything to fall into place naturally, that is what any normal person would do. Except that maya is abnormal, she is irrationally afraid that something going away from her even if they are not. Which I can only describe as paranoia. manipulations and mind games yielded good results, so thinks this is the right way especially since no one was there to tell her otherwise. Only way she will stop is, when she loses. her dirty games will take arjun away from her and that is when she will put in genuine efforts to win over people. for maya to win the battle of life, she needs to lose at least once.

This makes a lot of sense...thanks! Could you post this as a separate topic?
