I don't think it is Biopolar or split personality. to me, it looks like borderline personality disorder which may have existed since birth but instead of seeking treatment, ashwin aggravated it for his own benefit.

Yeah, that's what I said too. A mental health condition with which she was born or that she developed it during her childhood which was further aggravated by Ashwin. The number of disorders there are out there, one can be easily confused or mistaken with the other since the symptoms in most cases are more or less, the same. However yes, borderline personality disorder does seem to fit Maya's state better. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to correct that in the main post.

Therapy, yes. 'Love?' Not so sure. Like I said in one of my replies above, evil just doesn't have any reasoning or justification. It is what it is and that's Ashwin.

Maya probably gets violent to an extent that she can kill anyone. There was a movie called gupt where in kajol s character was mentally unstable that she could do anything when she gets angry and even murder. In childhood her best friend got bitten by a dog so she bite that dog . . . She was crazy. Maya has that voilent streak. Even when maya was fearing ashwin remember she held that guard hand and the moment ashwin was out of her sight she became rude even her behaviour is weird with jhanvi she is only nice to her when she need her or when ashwin is there or else she doesnt care.

In an crime show , there was story about the children who do criminal activities right from childhood.This child would easily kill the infants and the parents would hide it in the name of shaitan doing it. The crime rates started increasing and finally that child was sent to some center.

Maya s case woudnt be so dangerous but she has some big issue. Nowadays mental diseases arent taboo for arjun to run away.

Ashwin Melhotra is definitely the interesting Character of this show . Today everyone is talking about him and story rather then bashing.

I remember having seen Gupt although I don't remember it to such detail. Do remember Kajol's character though. I am not ruling out the possibility that Maya may have done something terrible or illegal or both owing to her mental health condition and other factors that might have played a role. It's something I have always suggested in my posts, if you can recall.

Exactly why I said Ashwin should be thanked for having given the story a much needed push.😆

I think the character that is more hidden in this case is Saanjh
maya is out in the open regarding her past and present
Everyone knows that there is something wrong with her
But one can also sense that difference in Saanjh coming out as the story progresses ;)

I don't know if this reply is meant for Tanvi or me but I'm going to respond to this anyway. I don't remember who Karol was in Gupt? Besides, we see similarities in these movies and the show because they all have been sketched with a similar base. There's no compulsion that beyhadh will go the Gupt way. Maya is head to toe an illusion, even her present is masked by layers and layers of facade. She's not out in the open about her past nor is there a stark clarity in her present because the two are intricately and complexly intertwined. The only thing she's open about is her need for Arjun. As far as Saanjh is concerned, I personally haven't seen or sensed any such hidden agendas or motives.
