Since this is like a symbolism thread, I thought I'd post this here. Idk where else it fits. 😆 And idk if a post has already been made on this. Sorry if it is a repetition. I noticed this from day one, the names of the three male characters. Mrityunjay, Rudra and Rishi. But today, it was more obvious than ever coz we got more of MJ today. And he's AWESOME. 👏😉 He's the stud man.

Notice how Mrityunjay and Rudra both stand for Lord Shiva. Mrityunjay is someone who conquers death, thus emerging victorious. And Rudra stands for ferociousness? Like in general parlance. I am not delving too deep into mythology here. So, I think, Rudra is that ansh of MJ that has his ferociousness, anger, and power but is probably not the will/skill to conquer and win. Rishi, though has nothing to do with Lord Shiva, but Shiva has a yogic form as well, and it may signify someone who's calm, composed which Rudra is not. To conquer, one needs both ferocity and composure. It's almost like MJ's qualities that have made him what he is today are split between both his sons such that neither can equal him, Rudra tries, but he is/will be outsmarted by Maya. And that's were Maya will rule I suppose.

Rishi's got MJ' charm and Rudra's got his seriousness towards life. And coz both of them aren't complete enough to walk on their own, or so MJ believes, he's gonna try controlling their lives. I didn't really see that MJ was a control freak earlier but today's dialogues showed that he wanted to control his sons' lives. Why? I have no idea. Maybe he's one of those self-righteous, self-obsessed people who believe they are the only ones right and everyone's got to listen to them to do well in their own respective lives without realising that everyone's got their own right and wrong.

Ooh interesting take. The CVs are either going for layer upon layer of meaning or we're just going too deep into this, but I have a feeling those names were all chosen on purpose and it has to do with the reasoning you provided above.

I like the name related symbolism. Totally agree.

But I found MJ quite a control freak from the start. Remember how he told Amir in the anniversary party that no one can invest in Rudras company except him. Also the way he pushed the pool test almost risking the employees life to see if Rishi was intentionally hurt or not also rang warning bells for me. He seems very shady to me and possibly why makers are taking time revealing his character.

Dec 10th - Symbolism Galore

I couldn't find one simple title for today. There was just so much going on. So I chose a broad encompassing title. Let's hope I did justice to it.

Ananya and Rudra's pure friendship - Despite everything, Rudra does care deeply for Ananya. He knew that she was stressed/angry over whatever he did to get those wounds and he made the mood as light as possible to get her to relax. What I like the most about their friendship is that there's nothing hidden in it. Ananya's feelings are out in the open. Rudra's feelings are out in the open. And there's no awkwardness about it. Ananya believes that Rudra will come to love her someday and even if he doesn't, it'll break her heart, but she'll be able to move on over it. It's a pure friendship. The type you would want to have with anyone. Someone you can share your pains, laughter, joys, ups, and downs with.

Now let's just point out one thing right now. Ananya is smarter than she's been given credit for. Rudra can make light of the challenges all he wants. Ananya understands that it's torture for Rudra. It's in line with his reaction after the first challenge. He wanted to fence and take out his anger, but he couldn't. Ananya sent a cake as another outlet for anger. Just let it go and enjoy the moment.

Rishi's selfishness - What a liar. I tell you, Rishi is turning out to be stereotypical in every sense. He cares about no one, but himself. Even faking that concern for Maya and the lies were all to get Maya closer to him. In the process, he revealed a lot more about himself than usual. He revealed part of his real personality. Girls are not important to him. They are just someone to attain, keep around for a few days, and then leave - through the scorecard. Even Maya is just someone he wants to attain, except in this case, because Maya is a damsel-in-distress, simple charm won't do. He has to woo her and show her his commitment. And for a damsel-in-distress who has been hurt before, that commitment is all the way to marriage. Of course, he also needs to understand his boundaries. Rudra shouldn't have to remind him to not touch a woman if she doesn't want to be touched. He should know that. But then he is used to getting what he wants and he's probably never been refused by a female before.

The bracelet - I come back to the bracelet, but this time in a broader sense. I'm not just focused on that bracelet that connects this mysterious lover with Rudra, but the bracelet that the lover gave Maya and the bracelet that Rishi is attempting to give to Maya. Watch how Rishi puts the bracelet on Maya. It's like a handcuff. Open, slip on from underneath, fasten from above. Symbolically suggesting I'm making you mine now. Now watch how the lover puts the bracelet on Maya. Slips it on and tightens it to the point where it's wrapped tightly around the skin. Symbolically suggesting that you are mine and you can't get loose from this. You're trapped. Maya didn't just jerk away her hand from the bracelet because it reminded her of the past, but I believe it also reminded her of this feeling. The feeling of being trapped and not being able to get away.

Rudra vs Rishi - Not in real, but in the symbolic sense. Today the tables turned. Up to now, Rishi has always been the happy-go-lucky, fun-loving guy and Rudra the quiet, sensible, thinking one. Today the tables turned thanks to Maya. On one hand, Maya made Rishi cry. Despite his selfishness, she made him realize that it wasn't going to be so easy to get her and that even if he did, she wouldn't just bring happiness in his life, but sadness as well. Rudra, on the other hand, was happier, confident, and fun-loving today again thanks to Maya. Maya's tasks may have been difficult, but they also filled Rudra with confidence when he completed the first two. This is important because somewhere Rudra was losing confidence in himself and his abilities to run his business. I don't think he would have gone to MJ, but he may not have been able to fight off MJ as vigorously as he will now. Fun-loving because he managed to cheer up Rishi by teasing him - tu idiot hai. Haan tu bewakoof bhi hai. Wohi naa? I like this teasing banter between the brothers. But I also like how serious Rudra can get when things need to take a serious turn.

MJ and his mother - There is so much going on here! I don't know where to start! Okay let's go step-by-step. The CVs set up this sequence in a particular way and it's best to follow it.

First, their responses to Rishi and Rudra. MJ - aansoon dil se aate hain aur khushi dimak se. Lekin yahan dil samjhta nahi aur dil sunta nahi. He's both complaining about his sons indirectly and also pointing out his characteristics. Dil as in Rishi and dimak as in Rudra. Rishi thinks directly from his heart, but doesn't understand anything. Rudra thinks from his mind, but refuses to listen to reason. In the same way, MJ reacts both from his mind and heart. When Rishi or Rudra are hurt, in pain, or wounded, his heart reacts. He wants to protect them to the point of stifling them. But once that initial phase passes, then his mind takes over and he wants to find out who is hurting them and why and make them go away, again to the point of mollycoddling his sons. That's exactly what MJ's mother said as well for both Rishi and Rudra and MJ.

MJ - lekin kabhi kabhi dil toota tha hai lekin aur zada mazboot ho jaata hai. I feel that here he's referring to all 3 of them. MJ has had his share of heartbreaks. No, I'm not whitewashing him. If he turns out to be a scheming, arrogant man, then he's going to get his share of mean comments, but what I mean to say is that MJ is not just one layer. He's many layers. Like most humans. And somewhere in those layers is a man who has had his heart broken more than once to the point that he put up barriers and became this man that no one likes. Rudra has had his heart broken as well. By MJ, by Antara, and possibly by a girl he loved. But unlike MJ, it hasn't made him cold and distant. It's just made him wary. He's got shields up, but only long enough to assess the person coming towards him. If he thinks he can trust them, then he'll lower those shields. If he can't, that person won't be able to get in. And finally, new to the game is Rishi. He's just had his heart broken for the first time and now it remains to be seen which way he goes: cold and distant like MJ or wary like Rudra.

MJ's mother - kahin akal ne tumhara saath hi naa chod diya ho. The way she paused to say this makes this important. And MJ's reaction adds to that. MJ has done something big in the past, something that he didn't think through and that brought about the divide between mother and son. Mrs. Roy wasn't just taking a snide jab at MJ, but also reminding him that it divided them and maybe it can bring them together again. All is not lost between mother and son. If they can drink together and have a meaningful conversation, then they can potentially bridge the distance that has appeared between them.

The foreshadowing, mazboot hone ke chakkar mein kahin Rishi galat haaton mein naa chala jaaye. Mrs. Roy sees and understands the heart more than MJ. She knows that when a person is heartbroken, they seek solace and in the process they may end up going down the wrong path or going to the wrong person. Maya has hurt Rishi, but she could just as easily heal Rishi as well. And while MJ keeps believing that the heartbreak will make Rishi stronger, Maya will turn Rishi against him. Be warned MJ. Your mother has warned you.

Finally Mrs. Roy kahin tumhare jaise naa ban jaayein vs MJ's mere jaisa bana itna bura hai kya and in response tum jo ban gaye ho naa woh bura hai. There's a lot to this small interaction as well. Mrs. Roy is angry with her son because he has done something big. Something that he didn't think through and something that hurt him and others around him. Despite all the taunts and mocks, somewhere deep down Mrs. Roy loves MJ, but can't forget that one defining moment and she doesn't want her grandsons to become like that. And MJ's comment, while casual, was full of pain and suffering. Every parent wants their child to be like them and yet here, his own mother is telling him that she doesn't want his sons to be like him. But note here. She doesn't want them to be like this MJ. There's another MJ hidden behind this arrogance, intelligence, and scheming MJ. The MJ that she loves and wants back and the MJ she wants her grandsons to be like. Is that what we're seeing then? Are Rudra and Rishi both somewhat like MJ and combined fully like this old MJ?

Symbolic and Real Deaths - Okay there was a lot of death talk in today's episode and I realized one thing. They won't both be real deaths.

Rishi - main toh hanste hanste hi maar jaonga. Rishi's death seems more likely to be real. Rishi takes death casually. He mentions it casually in conversation. I'm sure most of us have at some point. Something like Rishi's dialogue (I'll die of laughter). It's not real, it's just a figure of speech. But here's the thing. You never know when something like this could come true. What if Rishi will actually die and that too laughing? He won't even realize it. He'll just happily walk into his own death and in those seconds before his death he'll realize what Rudra meant whenever Rudra would stop him from talking about death.

Rishi - aapke baad maaronga. Again this simple dialogue makes me believe that Rishi will die first and will possibly be the only death in the show. Rishi believes that death happens by age. He's younger, so he'll die after Rudra. What better counter to this than him dying first? And Rishi's death will break Rudra. The man who can't even hear his little brother talk of death will break upon seeing his little brother actually dead. This will make him stronger though, like MJ said, but it may send him down the wrong path or to the wrong person, as Mrs. Roy said. As you can tell, either I'm drawing connections where there are none or the CVs have really planned this out to the most intricate of details. (I'm leaning towards the former, mind you. I think I've just gone mad and am seeing symbolism where there is none. 😆 Screw you CVs!!! 😡)

Haarne se better main marna pasand karonga (precap dialogue). I hesitate to talk about precaps, but I just want to make a quick mention to this dialogue. I know there was a lot of talk of death today, but I have a feeling that Rudra's mentions of death don't mean real death, but a symbolic death. Rudra isn't scared of dying. He's scared of losing. For him, a symbolic death would be a loss. This ties into everything that happened today. Rishi repeatedly mentioned death and his will be a real death. It may also be the loss that would symbolically kill Rudra and make him into someone different (as I mentioned above). Alternatively, maybe there's a bigger loss in store for him in the future that will symbolically kill him. I don't think his will be a real death. It'll be symbolic. He'll die and be reborn again. Like a phoenix. Except this will be without the reincarnation stuff.

Rudra's intense reaction - There's a story there. His reaction when Rishi wanted to talk to MJ about Maya was intense. Without realizing it, Rishi asked the right question. Did MJ chase away a former girlfriend of Rudra's? Rudra's hatred for MJ can't just be about a girl. There has to be more to it. But that question is a good starting point. Rudra is clever though. He quickly made it about Rishi. This is one of his strong points. He made the challenges about Maya. And he made his reaction about Rishi. It's also an interesting facet to his personality. When push comes to shove, Rudra is quick to deflect. I don't mean that he doesn't take responsibility. But when someone touches on a topic that is sensitive to him and he doesn't want to share with anybody, he quickly but casually deflects it back to the other person.

The symbolic fight club - The whole set-up and the way Maya and Rudra were standing facing each other with Fight Club perfectly between them sets up the whole scenario for the show. It'll be about a face-off between these two. The symbolic fight club. But will they always be against each other? I doubt that. As Rudra learns more about Maya and comes to understand her motives, that fight will turn against a common enemy.

Dard nahin dena chahta - And this dialogue highlights what I mentioned above. Rudra is all willing to fight but, at the same time, he doesn't want to hurt anyone. He fights when it's important, not just for the sake of it. And even when he fights, he wants to be careful. Now this dialogue also has another meaning to it. He doesn't want to hurt Maya. Despite what he says about hating her and teaching her a lesson, he doesn't want to give her pain, even if he was given pain. But Maya doesn't care (dard se kuch khaas rishta hai mera). Once again, tying this back to MJ's dialogue (lekin kabhi kabhi dil toota tha hai lekin aur zada mazboot ho jaata hai), it points to the fact that Maya has been hurt before and now is no longer scared of being hurt. Once again, a symbolic fight has been set between the two. Rudra wants to be careful and not hurt her, but she doesn't care and will take all the pains that come her way.

444 - The symbol of angels is back, but by reusing it, Maya has effectively told us (or at least the CVs have), that 444 is more than just that. Something in her past is tied deeply to this number. First her license plate and now this game. I can't speculate on just two small instances. Let's hope we get more so that the speculation can begin. As usual, Rudra asks those questions that Maya doesn't want to answer.

First of all let me tell u that in love ur symbolism posts.. and I defo wait for it everyday post epi..

Touch played an important part from the epi yest and today..

The whole touchy bit with Rudra yesterday.. he held her to save her..even if it was not acceptable for maya she still couldn't do anything about it..and there was a bit when she came up and into rudra arms she was affected..but she gathered herself quickly.. but when he got angry and held her, she asked him to keep away.. rudra is not such a person who barges that space.. but that moment he was angered by the fact that maya played with their life just for a task..

On the other hand Rishi rushes his hand hold etc which she couldn't tolerate.. Rudra telling rishi that he shouldn't be touching a woman if she doesnt want it.. I know rishi should have known that.. but as a brother it's a good gesture to keep educating ur siblings..rudra has done that more than once till now..

Ok let's start with the obvious notable stuff today...

1. Rishi talking about death..this is not the first time he said that.. but distancing rudra from MJ and death Of rishi will be a huge blow for MJ.. do let's see..

2. Maya mom can sense something wrong with her daughter who talks about revenge and all..she is scared and worried both but she doesnt say anything.. her mom might play a important role someday between rudra and maya..she knows what happened and she understands that bringing back love in maya life may change things..

3. One of my fav parts was maya telling rishi that all she wants is love and respect from a person who will shield her from the world.. somewhere I felt she meant it but obv she dint get it from the person she loved.. instead all she got was pain.. and the dialogue of rudra in the fight part.. main dard nahi dena chahta was like a counter to maya words..

4. At the phone call with Ananya.. I love went to rudra saying maya .. and ofcourse in the fight part he said Hume ek hone mein something of that sort..

5. MJ and dadi convo was interesting.. someone told me that the show is like mahabharat.. then dadi has to be the shakuni 😆.

6. Rishi is a liar.. but it's also that he is not in love or anything.. he just wants to woo maya for timepass which is clear. But maya pushing him away will make him want her more.. might even sometimes bring a different person out of him..

Finally the precap and fight.. it felt like maya had this pleasure of giving the pain to rudra the same way that she received.. but then why him? Does he deserve it.. till now rudra has been in the end of physical hurt by maya everytime.. but I also feel that he will win the fight even after getting beaten down eventually.. remember the fish part.. fish fights until it has life left in it..

But I wonder if Rudra doesnt try to think why maya just for sake of a book is going to such a crazy extent.. hope he questions that..

Sometimes this is my exact thought. Are we reading too much into everything???

Dard nahin dena chahta- I think Rudra inherently is very gentle and doesn’t want to cause any harm to her either literally or figuratively.

Aww thank you. I didn't realize it was that popular.

@ Red: That seemed very uncharacteristic of Rudra, but also pointed towards a facet of his personality. He doesn't mind challenges, but being put in danger under a whim is where he draws the line. I did notice though that when Maya pushed him away, he didn't barge into her space again.

2. I find Nandini quite spaced out. She doesn't know what her daughter does for a living. She is still thinking about her son and husband. She forgets that Maya's lover hurt her and love is a taboo topic. But maybe in her spaced out nature, she'll help Maya find love.

On the precap and your point, I noticed that Maya gave Rudra physical endurance tasks, but there's a mental component hidden behind each from which both are learning.

  • Selling fish is no easy feat, especially sitting out there in the sun everyday. Yes, not the most physically exhausting, but it taught Rudra the importance of stories and creativity. It taught Maya that Rudra doesn't think of anything beneath him in the face of a challenge. The smell of the fish was bothering him, but he still took it on and did a great job with it.
  • The race to the top. It taught Rudra the importance of listening and not just doing what you think is right. But, at the same time, it also taught Maya that Rudra is not one to give up so easily. Yes, he was racing against a lift and anyone else might have given up, but Rudra pushed himself to get to the top and he got to the top before her. Incidentally, they didn't technically race to the top. There were still like 4 floors left where they stopped.
  • The fake fall. I would say this was more for Maya than Rudra. Maya understood what type of person Rudra is from this. He hates her. She knows that. And yet, in that moment, he chose to save her rather than let her die like that.

I do hope that Rudra questions her as well. The first and even the second task I can understand. The first was testing his ability to sell and the second his perseverance in the face of adversity. But what's the point of the fight club and that fake fall for selling a book?

@ Bold: We probably are. But if the CVs are here and reading posts in the forum, they're probably also being blown away by our discussions.

Rudra can say all he wants that it'll be his turn to hurt her when she signs on, he won't do much. His pain is mostly all physical. He shied away from fencing with her when he first saw her face. How's he going to return the physical pain in some challenge?

Ok, I like this couple, because of the fact that they are very open about their feelings for each other. I appreciate this friendship because of this openness. So, I have another Mahabharat foreshadowing to add here. Ananya and Rudra's relationship reminds me of Arjun and Subhadra because Subhadra loved Arjun, but Arjun always saw her as a friend. Also, she was Krishna's sister. And Draupadi had a very sisterly relation with Subhadra. And in this show, Maya is the Krishna, and she is Draupadi also, so does this foreshadow anything?? I may be wrong, who knows.

But then he is used to getting what he wants and he's probably never been refused by a female before.

Well, Rishi may be selfish, but I don't think he is bad. Who isn't selfish. Everyone is.

The bracelet - I come back to the bracelet, but this time in a broader sense. I'm not just focused on that bracelet that connects this mysterious lover with Rudra, but the bracelet that the lover gave Maya and the bracelet that Rishi is attempting to give to Maya. The feeling of being trapped and not being able to get away.

Bracelet nahi, phanda hai phasaane ka. Kisi ne kabhi Maya ko phasaaya tha, ab wo usi ke zariye kisi aur ko phasaayegi. Maya's pain is her weakness and her strength also.

Rudra vs Rishi - Not in real, but in the symbolic sense. Today the tables turned. Up to now, Rishi has always been the happy-go-lucky, fun-loving guy and Rudra the quiet, sensible, thinking one.

I get the feeling that Maya was traumatized mentally and physically. She was physically assaulted and her heart was broken. And both can cause an unending sequence of pain and agony. So with Rudra and Rishi, Maya is playing both. She is gradually breaking Rishi's heart which will cause him pain and with Rudra, she is giving him physically challenging tasks to give him the physical pain.

Kaafi lamba tha nahi. All in all, I would just say, I need to watch Mrityunjay's character fleshed out. He is not the divine angel that he shows via the conversation with his mother. This was the first decent conversation between mother and son. Gave some insight into their relationship and also something Mrityunjay has done, which he shouldn't have.

As I pointed out in my post, all this talk about death is boring me to death (pun intended). As long as death is not happening, I will not expect the worst. Death does not necessarily mean the death of a person, but it could mean the death of the person they are to emerge into the person they will be because of Maya. They could be her biggest allies or her worst enemies. Let us see.

I don't understand Mrityunjay's problem. Why is he so against any woman coming into his son's life? Is this mollycoddling, controlling, protecting or something else?

I don't know why, but I also have this feeling that with the passage of every episode, Maya will start turning towards light and Mrityunjay towards darkness and so that when a midway is reached - that is when a proper show off will happen. What do you say?

444 - The symbol of angels is back, but by reusing it, Maya has effectively told us (or at least the CVs have), that 444 is more than just that. Something in her past is tied deeply to this number. First her license plate and now this game. I can't speculate on just two small instances. Let's hope we get more so that the speculation can begin. As usual, Rudra asks those questions that Maya doesn't want to answer.

Rudra always asks pertinent questions, I like it that sometimes he manages to make Maya uncomfortable.

Good Post👍🏼

I loved your symbolism as usual! Was waiting for it.

I loved the handcuff-bracelet meaning coz I didn't get it when I watched the episode. 👏 That was awesome. And it was true also. It was exactly like he was trapping her, and Maya wanted to get rid of the feeling as well as the memory. Could it be that despite everything Rishi does manage to trap Maya in some way in future? He may. He's a charmer like MJ. And yesterday, he may have been lying about his concern for Maya or he may have realised it later and believed that he WAS concerned. Yeah, when he said he was looking for Maya, it was a lie, however, he may have looked around for her once the first fear had passed.

However, it is obvious that he's got the scheming streak of MJ More than Rudra has. I hope they DO explore that side and in the end not write him off to establish Rudra. Rudra is anyway owning everyone with his deep-rooted pain and hurt and intensity. Rishi's downfall need not be used to establish Rudra. But anyway let us see.

Regarding RuAn (I love how they have used a ship name for their business as well 😆) and their friendship. In the last season too, we saw a lot of foreshadowing in the beginning about Maya coming in between two friends. But this season they have shown it very, very deftly. I loved how she interrupted a phone call and not some glaringly obvious interruption otherwise shown on television. And Ananya says no one can come between us. Classic dialogue that comes in every show, every serial. I hope though, that when something like that happens, these friends don't think there's a rift between them. That would be different. I don't want to see another Kuch Kuch Hota Hai here. 😆

Regarding the death signs, I comprehended it the same way you have, that it was too obvious to be Rudra's death. It's probably Rishi's or something else. Yeah, losing Vs dying was awesome. 😉

Then MJ - His mother, it was from this scene that I picked the analysis of their names. Dil and Dimaag. He also referred to himself I think. MJ as a whole is a complete package to face any adversity in life, but his sons have only got half his qualities. So, he could have meant his heart said something else but he was willing to explain to his brain about how to deal with his sons.

Point here - Rudra's problem of rebellion is a problem for MJ. Why is Rishi's girlfriend a problem? Why did MJ say problem is solved? Maybe this is what he thought when Rudra was younger and was of Rishi's age, and he did something to drive away the girlfriend.

EDIT -

1. Regarding Sultan, the dog, even that is a foreshadowing of death? It was supposed to be a joke which backfired. 😆 It was funny though. But maybe, there's something there.

2. Why did you say Antara betrayed/hurt Rudra? She seems to love him a lot
