Ah okay. They were just giving us very few Rudra scenes in the past few weeks so I thought he was shooting for the movie.

Happy Women's Day!

Today's episode was heavily focused on self-respect, rights, self-worth, and it comes at a perfect timing.

Exactly what I felt while watching the episode. Despite the bloopers, inconsistencies, execution issues if BH2, the CVs are brilliant on certain core ideas that they want to address. Today’s episode was a class act in addressing the issue of what defines a women’s self worth & the execution was bang on!

On one side, we have the abusive MJ, who keeps Antara in fear always, forces her to drink ashes, and promises to divorce her and leave her nowhere if she doesn't do his bidding. On the other side, we have Maya, who wants to destroy MJ, but at the same time seems to be empowering Antara to stand up for her rights.

What was interesting today was that Maya destroyed Antara further before making her realize that this is not what she is worth. Antara is so used to being used and abused that she touched Maya's feet, cleaned the bathroom, went through garbage, and then even put her head (and symbolically her respect) in Maya's feet. All in a bid to make her come back and so that MJ wouldn't leave her.

Think about it. MJ is the man who says "good girl" like Antara is some pet and then reminds her to remember her level. For MJ, Antara isn't some trophy wife. She's just a thing, a magnet who keeps his sons near him. That's it.

On the other hand, Maya kept pushing Antara and she kept doing everything. But think about what she said when she told Antara to search the garbage. Ek bahut hi keemti chamkli cheez. Log uske liye maar mit the hain. Tum dekhogi toh samjh jaogi. What's more important that self-respect. People will kill for it. Haven't wars been fought over self-respect? And the last bit was a taunt. Antara doesn't know what self-respect is. She only has pride on her name and that pride has destroyed her. She went to every level to bring Maya and Rudra back. But Maya refused to let her fall any further when it came to putting her head in Maya's feet.

Maya may want to destroy MJ and Antara and Diya and everyone, but in the process, she taught Antara an important lesson. Pride and arrogance on a name or for a position will destroy your own self-worth and self-respect. And without these 2 things you cannot survive. Look at Antara. She drinks, does drugs, needs medications to live. Even then she is still nothing. A mere pet and that's making pets look bad. We love our dogs, cats, birds, turtles, fish, etc. But Antara is even worse than that. She's like those slaves from the Prohibition era in USA.

I do have to say though. Kudos to Maya. And kudos to the CVs. They brought an important message at the end for all battered women. There was a member here on IF up until last year. ProfMcGonagall aka Minnie. She works with battered women everyday. Today's message was perfect for her role. I wish she was here, but she has left IF for good. Nonetheless, hopefully she saw this episode.

MJ’s treatment of Antara is classic domestic abuse at both physical & emotional level which is meant to break the spirit & make the victim identify with the way the abuser views/ defines them. We do not know how Antara & MJ’s relationship began, what drew them to each other & how & when things soured. But knowing MJ’s character he probably made Antara emotionally/physically dependent on him & then manipulated her feelings for him to break her spirit to the level that she forgot her own identity & the only thing left was the title of being his wife. So much so that she is ready to lick the dust off of Maya’s feet to keep the title...she has truly hit rock bottom in self worth. She no longer loves him but she feels she is worthless without his name. And she is not alone in this...women stay in abusive relationships for all kinds of reasons ranging from kids & sense of security to financial issues & lack of self identity. I do wish this show had a wider audience and everyone feeding on saas-bahu trope got to see more of such stuff on tv. We know how this is gonna end though. Antara is going to grow a spine & challenge MJ & he is going to crush her. Had she not been so cruel towards Manvi I would have loved to see her finding her mojo finally. But we know it’s not going to end well for her.

On a separate note, Maya's comment that she understands Antara's position and doesn't hate her rubbed me the wrong way. She understands Antara's position and doesn't hate her. Abey what did Rishi do to you that you killed

Melanie is a really good actress & am glad they are finally showing her prowess. The show is finally getting on the right track I think. Anu is a blot in the name of true chuddi-buddies...faking friendship with Rudra...seriously 🙄! And poor Rudra...is any of his closest and most valued relationships without deception? The purest relationship was his little bro Rish who his sanki wife finished off! This man is so cut out for angst!!

See I understood Ananya when she was hurt, but why does she assume that there is something on with Maya? She just doesn't like Maya and thus assumes that Maya is doing everything. She had half a sketch and just assumed that it meant that Maya was Rishi's girlfriend and had something to do with Rishi's death. Why couldn't Rishi just have sketched Maya because he felt like it?

Anyways, I do agree. I just don't understand Ananya anymore.

Agree with you on Rishi and Rudra's relationship. It was the closest and the most pure.

Mar 11th - Higher You Fly, Further You Fall

Today was all about flying high, and falling that much further.

Ananya - Ananya is flying high because she thinks that by deceiving Rudra, she can easily get closer to him and also destroy Maya. She believes that by helping Adi, she is saving Rudra from a sanki Maya. But it isn't so easy or so simple. Firstly, Rudra knows that Maya is sanki. He doesn't know the extent of it, but he knows. Secondly, Ananya is playing with Rudra's emotions and trust. The day Rudra finds out, he'll break their friendship and then there will be no turning back. And finally, Ananya is simple and straightforward. She thinks Adi is doing all this to help Rudra, but in reality, he's doing all this to help MJ. He's using Ananya to forward his own intentions and the day his intentions are complete, he will dump Ananya and leave her to take all the blame.

Antara - Antara is flying high currently. In a bid to prove that she is now her own person, she has gone to the other extreme. From the timid, quiet, meek, drugged doormat to the loud, cheap, annoying socialite. And her fall will be fast and hard. You don't just go from one end of the spectrum to the other end in a minute without disturbing those around you. And if that person is MJ, you don't just sleep soundly without expecting a response. Antara thinks scaring MJ with some "papers" is enough to get him to back down and unfortunately she is going to be proven wrong.

Maya - I say Maya as well because right now she is flying high in her success. She thinks that nothing can stop her. She keeps the hits going and MJ will finally succumb and fall. But she's up against a man who has no conscience. He doesn't care about anyone or anything. He just wants control over his son and his image. And once you push a man like that far enough, he hits and hard. Maya is making small steps, not winning big battles. And the day she fails in one of her attacks, it'll be a hard fall for her, but not as hard as she fell when she was Maanvi. No, she'll be back up and soaring again, but she will fall.

On a side note, I'm so glad that the CVs didn't make Rajiv into the typical gay man that Indian TV and movies love to show. It's natural and real. I mean, yes they did make him a bit extravagant to make it obvious, but none of those stupid stereotypes about effeminate characteristics, loud and flashy clothes, OTT flirting, etc.

The mysterious man - Abey yaar now who is left to be introduced?!! Don't tell me that there is someone even above MJ who wanted to destroy her.

The precap - Oh man I hope it wasn't Maya who sent those goons to harass/rape Antara. That would be a new low.
