Guys I dont know, it has been quite some time I have been getting Durga vibes in Zoya. Ek Hasina Thi was also a show by Cinevistaas and it was a thriller and it will always remain one of my favorites. But EHT had a love story as its parallel track. Love story of Dev and Durga. I had always felt that love story somewhere was left adhura because the show closed in 8 months. It had its moments, but then the focus of EHT was the female protoganist and male antagonist. The hunter and prey syndrome between Shaurya Goenka and Durga Thakur.
For the past sometime when I watch BP I feel that love story of EHT is repackaged with amazing leads in BP. In EHT Shaurya does a crime and Dev mistake, a gross mistake. But Dev's mistake burns the girl Nithya and her belief more than the crime Shaurya does. So when she comes back as Durga with the face of a girl who is already dead in her smile is a charred woman.A woman with burning fire inside to burn everything around her. She hates everything about Nithya who she treats a failure and her favourite hobby is burning Nithya's picture everyday. Dev runs around searching his Nithya wanting to correct his mistake. He makes friendship with Durga who decides to marry Shaurya as for her mission is important and also Dev's safety as her plot has resulted in him having life threat. During those days I use to mention Durga cannot win, only Nithya can win the battle. The girl needs her self belief and the person who can give her that is Dev himself because of whom she lost it as she had trusted him blindly. Dev had to walk on fire to reach her. There is a scene where he is beaten up in lock up mercilessly. He chases her, he suffers like mad, the straight forward Dev Goenka even agrees for a deal marriage with Durga for his Nithya. He takes out the poison in her and she stops him from self destruction giving proof that of course his Nithya is there. He finds out finally Durga is Nithya.
If you look at BP though Zoya is not Durga as she is not manipulative she has lot of pent up feelings in her. Her anger at Yash which she had never expressed in true sense. She closing the doors of love is also because if she opens them the first thing that will come out is not nectar, but poison. Her pain that is locked. Aditya had ranted and raved at Pooja, at Yash but Zoya has not really. She has not talked about her relationship with Yash,the way Aditya has opened up to her. She is burned, scarred and more than half dead.
She is treating this half dead state as life with a smile. Her emotions, her feelings she has locked them up never wanting to acknowledge them and friendship offers a safe zone for her to be normal, sane. With his confession tomorrow Aditya is going to throw open the doors of her rage, her pent up emotions and more or less killing her soul. Whatever she couldnt do with Yash with her pent up rage she is going to go for Aditya comparing him with Yash. Yash did a crime, Aditya a mistake in love. But for the criminal Yash, Aditya will have to take the poison. We used to shout during EHT marriage track, what is wrong with Dev Goenka, one more time he speaks Nithya we will switch of television. But that was Dev's penance for getting once chance with his Nithya to correct his mistake.
Same will be Aditya. He will be mad running around, because he needs one chance to prove himself but Zoya is not going to give him due to past though she herself will be disturbed as Durga was. Just like Dev took the punishment, Aditya will also take her indifference as his punishment. Because the poison in Zoya has to taken out. She needs to be a better judge of character. She needs to know she cant be good with everyone, she cant be bad with everyone. None is God. Everyone is human and humans make mistakes and they need to be given a chance. Because if you dont give a human a second chance humanity will cease to exist. Yes a Yash has to be punished, but a Aditya can be forgiven and given a chance to improve himself.
