Chapter-3

Life without you is like an empty cup

Love is something, which changes you into the most beautiful person on earth. It teaches you how to live for your loved ones and how to be happy in others happiness or sad in others sadness. It instructs you on difficult paths such as acceptance, sacrifice, pain and trust. If you love someone then you will never let that person leave you. You will be a support for him or her either they wish or not.

(Zain was sitting beside Aliya like a statue. He cannot see his Aliya in so much pain and in such an appalling condition. He grasped her hand with almost all his strength present in him. He does not want to let go Aliya once again from his life.)

Doctor came in with a serious look on his face yet quite concerned. He placed his hand on Zain's shoulder and Zain turned back to see. As he turned back, he could see a concerned look staring at him. He got nervous, he slowly left Aliya's hand and got up from there.

Doctor-Mr. Abdullah I have a bad news for you.

Zain-Is everything all right. You said she is recovering; now please don't take your words back. (Appearing helpless)

Doctor-yeah, we were almost certain about that but now I think she can suffer from nervous breakdown. This is a medical disorder caused due to depression or major stress.

(Zain was distressed knowing about this. He was self-questioning himself why he came again in Aliya's life. He finished everything for her. In the past, he shattered all her hopes and today he snatched all the happiness she had in her life.)

Zain-Is there any way out where Aliya can come through this. (Tears flowing continuously from his eyes)

Doctor-I am doubtful but there is one way left. If you can keep her happy and away from all the stress and can give new hope to live her life then she can be saved.

Zain-I will do anything for her until I am alive.

(Zain restored all his vigor, which was shattered into a million of pieces a few minute ago. He was determined to live his life only for his MEZ. He entered the ward and he draws all the curtains back so that it brightens up the room. It indicated how much he wants to live his life for Aliya and start his life with a fresh beginning. He still had that one hope cling onto him. He sat there and caressed her face tenderly and a smile crept across his face.)

Zain's monologue

I know you are very stubborn and once you make a decision you never look back. I know I have done a mistake, which is unforgivable but this is not done that you are punishing yourself for my doings. You know what ever since you left me I have stopped doing things, which I liked. Now kids also find me like a monster (with a smile), this is all because of you. You have to wake up and put together all the stuffs, which I have messed up. (His eyes were brimming with tears).Accha fine if not for me, then for those two innocent kids, which are not at fault. I comprehend all those sacrifices that you made for me and my family but this time I'll not let you suffer from any pain. All your pains are mine. I promise from today onwards that I will stand for you and your family as a protector without letting you being familiar with it. I will fulfill your promise Rehan.

At the ward

(Aliya was conscious now but she was repeatedly asking about Rehan but no one was answering. Zain was outside seeing Aliya from the glass. He requested everyone not to tell anything to Aliya. He himself will tell the truth when the situation is right.)

Aliya-ammi. Where is Rehan? Is he fine?

Shabana-beta he is fine. You need to rest right now. Please stop worrying he will come in sometime. (Shabana could not control her tears anymore so she went out)

Zain-Phups Why is you here. Please go inside she will come to know everything. We have to be strong for her.(with a concerned look)

Shabana-I can't see her in this condition. Till when we would hide the truth from her.

Zain-We have to. I cannot let her die she is my life. If anything happens to her. I will be unable to forgive myself.

Flashback

(Grumpy comes to know about all this he was completely shocked but he hold onto his emotion for the sake of Aliya.)

Grumpy-Zain you destroyed a happy family. (With angry look on his face).Now what I will tell Aliya and how will I manage the kids. Do you have an answer? Tell me Zain tell me I want an answer (holding his collar).

Zain-I am very well aware of what I have done but this time I will mend all my mistakes and I have promised Rehan that I will be always there on Aliya and kids side no matter what comes on my way.(getting rid of Grumpy's hold)

Grumpy-I will never forgive you Zain but for Aliya and the kids I am giving you one more chance. We have to be careful as Aliya's condition is critical and you know what will happen, if she comes to know about all this and I have already lost, my son and I do not want to lose my daughter.

Zain-I promise you that now my life's aim is only to keep Aliya safe.

Two months later...

Zara-dad is you ready for your wedding. (Placing the sehra on his head)

Zain-Yes my princess. Now tell me how am I looking.

Zara-Everything is fine but.

Zain-But what? (Checking him from head to toe)

Zara-Smile is missing from your face. (With smirk on her face).You should not be nervous. You have to be strong you have to handle ammi's anger.

Zain-You naughty girl. (With a smile on his face)

(Suraiya comes in asking Zain to come fast as they are getting late for the wedding)
