Chapter-2
The journey has just begun
Life is short and we have a limited period to articulate our inner emotions in front of our adored ones. Never ever, let pass a second chance in your life because this is the only opportunity by which you can mend your bond with the person, who matters you the most.
(The ambulance arrived at the hospital without delaying it any further the attendants rushed them inside the hospital. Zain was in his subconscious state run into Aliya's hand, he could feel her presence because he does remember her touch, and he murmured MEZ." Please do not leave me ", were the only words he could verbalize at that very moment.)
Doctor-Take the patient to ICU.I suppose Mr. Abdullah is not much wounded so he will be back to his consciousness in few hours but these two patients have a very less chance of survival. Let us see if we can save them.
At the ward
(Zain came back to his senses but did not know what all stuff has happened until now; he was experiencing anxiousness that something very wrong has happened to Aliya.)
Zain-(Questions were flowing in his mind just like an uncontrolled river.) Is she fine? Is anything bad has happened to her? Alternatively, am I thinking too much, nothing can happen to her? All these are my dreadful thoughts; I should put my head to rest.
(Nurse entered the room with a glass of juice.)
Nurse-how are you feeling sir?
Zain-I am fine now. Could you please tell me how my accident happened?
Nurse-sir you got into an accident with a car and the victims are seriously injured. Their survival chances are very less.
Zain-oh God what have I done. May I know who they are? I want to meet them. Please take me there. (With guilt on his face)
Nurse-We got some belongings but it is not enough to identity that who they are because the stuffs are badly damaged.
(Zain was devastated to know that he has ruined a family. He was completely guilt stricken. He wanted to make things back to normal but this was something next to impossible. This is something which destiny has stored for him, which will change his entire present.)
At the ICU
Doctor-this man is very serious. Nurse put the oxygen mask fast. Where is defibrillator handle it to me fast, the patient is deteriorating?
(Rehan was critical while Aliya was still not awake. Doctors have given up their hope as they have tried everything to make their condition stable and now they have left everything to God. Zain comes running to the ICU to check whether the victims are safe or not. He was anxiously waiting for the doctors.)
Doctor-Mr. Abdullah you here is everything all right.
Zain-How are they?
Doctor-I am sorry to say but the man is very critical and we do not think he can be saved whereas his wife is little stable but until and unless she does not comes into consciousness. We cannot say anything.
Zain-please save them, this all my fault. I don't want anyone to suffer for my mistakes. May I meet the man; I want to have a word with him.
Doctor-yeah sure but only 5 minutes.
(No sooner did Zain enter the ICU he was shocked to see Rehan there his entire world came crashing down. Rehan opened his eyes with much difficulty as his eyelid was heavy and he could see Zain with a distorted vision. He with a soft voice called out Zain.)
Rehan-Zain?
(Zain seated himself beside Rehan)
Zain-Again, I destroyed my Aliya's life. I am sorry Rehan. Please forgive me. (Tears rolling down his cheeks)
Rehan-you do not have to feel sorry because it was destined to happen. I know I cannot come through this. (Having difficulty in breathing)Just promise me that you will make sure that after me there should be no sorrow in Aliya and kids life.
Zain-you are not going anywhere you have to survive this for Aliya and your kids. Please (he broke down)
(By each passing second Rehan was nearing to his death and this is how fate was playing its card)
Rehan-Aliya was always yours and will be yours only. I was there only as a friend for her. Please understand Zain I have no time left. You have to do this. Zain do not miss the second chance, which life has given to you.
(The monitor was showing dipping pulse rate. Zain became apprehensive seeing this. He asked Rehan not to give up he will call the doctor but it was too late as he was gone. Zain stood there frozen he could not believe that what has just happened. He lost his balance and he was on his knees. He yelled "Ya Allah what have I done".)
The doctors came in and tried to revive Rehan but nothing was working. Zain was still in trauma sitting there lifeless. The nurse requested him to go outside, as they have to shift the body to morgue.
(Zain went outside and sat in the chair. His eyes were red and his face was looking pale. Millions of thoughts were occupying his mind that what should he do now. He somehow gathered some courage and asked himself to be strong. )
Zain-I have to be strong for Aliya. I will not let any harm come closer to Aliya.
(Zain entered the ward and sat beside Aliya, he held her hand tightly. The golden moments, which he spent with Aliya was reminisced by him.)
Precap-doctor says to Zain that there is a serious issue with Aliya. Zain shocked.
