16 August written update

The Poddar family gets the first prize. But Sarika is not on stage with the others. She is entering her dressing-room dejectedly, when she sees the attendance register on the table. Overjoyed, she rushes to Santosh. Meanwhile Shikha is trying to instigate Santosh about how Sarika contradicted Ghanshyam in public and brought disgrace to the whole family. Right then, Sarika enters and shows the register. She also tells Santosh she has nothing to do with Naveen. Santosh says she believes her.

Ghanshyam is telling the entire family that now the community will be backbiting about them because of Sarika's speech. But Santosh defends Sarika. She shows the family the register. Everyone is convinced but Ghanshyam is dissatisfied. Later in his room, he tells Vidya that this girl will bring about the ruin of the family, but he won't allow that to happen.

Jay plays music in the car ("tum mile") while drpping Sarika to college; but when he sees her studying, he puts it off. She thanks him for letting her revise her chapter. He and Taruna are sitting the college canteen trying to figure out why Tripathi is after Sarika. Taruna tells Jay he can't help Sarika while she is in college. But Jay gets an idea. He goes to meet Adesh, who is worried about competitors eating away at their profits. They need a new business idea. Jay has one. He tells himself--now i can remain close to Sarika all the time.
