I myself believe in arranged marriages....I mean your parents can choose the boy you shud meet him and then if you guys can go out for ahwile and if you like him and decide he is the man for you it would be ok I personally believe that marrying a person against my parents will wont bring me happiness because they know what is best for me...I am actually engaged and we had an arranged marraige...(will be having one) and it is goin well. the minute I talked to him I knew we were meant to be

I'm not an Indian, but I do respect other cultures and their customs. But personally, I would definitely not be in favour of an arranged marriage. It's hard enough to live with someone day after day even when you love them and have a lot in common. Even if your parents pick out someone they feel is respectable and right for you, you might not feel that way.

I agree with those of you who think it depends on destiny and how committed the couple is. My parents had an arranged marriage but they would allow me to find a guy on my own. However he needs to be from a good family and have good job prospects. I would go for an arranged marriage if I couldn't find a guy on my own or if I think I loved someone and it doesn't work out then I'd go for arranged.

i think arrange wedding is good. we know our parents from last 25 years and we know our love partner from 3 year so i think in relationship the parents got the stronger one. what they want is our happyness? i think our parents think better than we do for ourselves. the other think is if u do love marrige and ou have trouble in your marrige life, your parents are not going to help bcoz you find them by yourselves. if u do arrange marrige and u have problems, i think both parents can solve the problem. it is our tradition to do arrange marrige. have u notice that how man divorce we have in india? very less compare to other countries because of arrange marrige. thanks

my views are that it depends on ur way of thinking wht arrange marriage is like.

U may sa its a compromise but maybe ur parents have chosen well! U wuld never know!

If its me n my parents hv found a guy for me, i will first meet the guy n get to know him bfore taking any other step. In such a way, an arraqnged marriage could be chnaged into a love marriage! 😛

SO not in all sense arranged marriages arew wrong, but they too hv their pros n cons.

This is jus like Vidya n Saagra. vidya is getting to like Saagra already n so if u look at it witha broad mind, this so called arranged marriage has changed somewhat into a love marriage!

I believe that there are 2 ways of having arranged marriage. now a days, arranged marriage means something way different then it used to. b4 it'd be ur wedding day and thats when u 1st c ur hubby, but, in todays society, arranged marriage means ur parents c someone and then give u time to get to know each other, in essence ur parents give u the final choice.

i had an arranged marriage. something just clicked between my husband and i when we met for the first time.

problems in a marriage can come about whether it is a love/arranged marriage. common problems are extended family and how one deals with them.
