^ nothing wrong with hiten-khemi relationship at all, in my book. this masi-bhanja stuff does not seem to be affecting anyone in the mahiyavanshi household as much as it is affecting some of us here on the forum.

In the name of uniqueness, next she will have a 70 year old marrying a 18 year old! *phew* 😆

I think most of us are happy with Same Age individuals falling in love.......Thank-you!
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the DM-Santo track too, but maily coz of DM's strong acting.....but the so called "unique" concept of 50 + year old marrying a 18 year is Not unique by any standards!
We start spouting moralistic lectures about why Hiten should NOT be marrying Kheemi,
BUT by our standards of morals take a dip when it's DM-Santo allegiance......
I understand some people have a certain deferance towards DM's character coz they have itched him so well....it natural to have a certain adherence for him....
But to turn around and say it's okay to have 50 plus marrying a 18 year is pure sacrilege....blasphemy!!!

Thank you so much for that one, people seem to call Khiten selfish and wrong but they never seem to look at what they are accepting themselves, it really is wrong to say that Khiten shouldn't be together yet say Santo and DM! o_O!

I dont think an actor who is not as attractive or as popular as Ronit Roy could have carried such an unconventional story on his shoulders. Bidai and Yeh Rishta kya kehlata is not about about a couple with mismatched age. So they are not on the same plane.

And I never said that Bidaii or Yeh Rishta are on the same plane as Bandini. If you see my comment, I was comparing KMH(and not Bandini) to Bidai and Yeh Rishta, both have new unestablished actors, yet Bidaai and Yeh Rishta are top rated show on television whereas KMH is not even doing too well on it's own channel. So don't buy the argument that KMH is not so popular because of it's new unestablished cast.

Only this story is in rural settings and has the added dimension of caste system and the hero's grown up children.

I wasn't commenting on the uniqueness of the show, but on the premise which is not going to change because people do not like an 18 year old girl hitched to a much older man. So people saying that they don't like the concept of the story is kind of a moot point. This show is catering to a different kind of audience and going by it's ratings on the channel, there are lots of people who do like the concept. People who want to see young love stories, there are many of those on TV.

Hey, no one said that it's OK to have a 50+ man marry a 18 year old - if someone had stopped the marriage before it happened, then kudos to him/her. But no one did and the marriage did happen. And relationships cannot be broken on a person's whim especially in a rural setting like in Bandini. Santo cannot go to the divorce court and say "I want a divorce because my husband is much older to me and I only married him to save my Nanaji's honor but now I have decided that I do not like it that he is so much older. So I want a divorce so I can get hitched to a younger man". The story now is about how to make a relationship that was unwanted to begin with work despite all odds and that is what makes this show so successful.

I would prefer to see their love story sensitively handled (as they have done so far) without emphasis on physical relationship.

I would actually like to see DM-Santo be a married couple in every sense of the word - and if they have a child, great! I am sure DM can handle playing with his son/daughter and grandson/granddaughter at the same time quite well. His youngest one currently is still only 6-7.

This is a Hindi soap we are talking about, don't expect or need to see anything explicit. I think their love story is being handled well and tastefully so far and hope it continues to be so even when they truly become a couple.

There are lots of real world examples of older women-younger men couples. I guess you do not see too many examples of a big age difference simply because of biology. A young man who some day wants a family obviously won't marry a 50 year old woman who won't be able to have kids.

Bidai and Yeh Rishta Kya... are not only love stories but are family dramas. hence are not in the same genre as KMH. So there is wider audience of them. New comers or not, they will do better than KMH which is not only having new comers but is also a unidimensional story with the support cast hardly having much role to play. It is also the reason why Bandini (being family drama) is doing better than KMH. I think I gave more than one reason (RR) for its success. KMH started off well but in terms of script it sucks. The target audience is also limited to the younger lot.
