This is a Hindi soap we are talking about, don't expect or need to see anything explicit. I think their love story is being handled well and tastefully so far and hope it continues to be so even when they truly become a couple.

We are talking about a BT soap which has, in the past had some bold scenes in its shows compared to the other shows. Hope they don't show such scenes for DM-Santo. By the way the age of Suraj is a mystery. He looks like a 4-5 year old but Shubi is supposed to have died 7 years ago. Trust BT to have such inconsistencies.

So people saying that they don't like the concept of the story is kind of a moot point. This show is catering to a different kind of audience and going by it's ratings on the channel, there are lots of people who do like the concept. People who want to see young love stories, there are many of those on TV.

It is not only different kind of audience it is catering to but also a wider audience. If it has lots of viewers it is not only to see DM-Santo love story, but these viewers also include the ones who watch it for Hiten-Khemi (if the trps in recent times when the Hiten-Khemi track is going up is any indication and the number of Khiten fans here are anything to go by). There are some who like Kaddu-Shanks and some who dont care for love stories but just want to see a family drama of how Santo adjusts and gets accepted in the large high caste parivar (like me). So if the viewers who watch it for the younger pair comment on the old-young pair, what is wrong in it? After all, the fans of the old-young pair have been pretty scathing in their comments of the young pair, have they not? So to each his/her own. The story is such that none of the fans of the various couples here can say that their couple is beyond controversy. It is the aim of the show makers also to make all the love stories in the show as controversial as possible to raise trps.

Oh yes, there may be examples, but how many people are open minded to accept them? As to children, a man who is really in love with an older woman may not bother about kids, they can always have a test tube baby or adopt a child. As Mombs Demi-Ashton are one such couple but then they live in a mroe permissive society than ours. Here people will jeer the older woman and say that she has trapped the younger man.

True. Eastern world may not be so accepting. Even the more common trend of older man, younger woman is being gasped at. 😲

The reason why people find it difficult to accept age mismatched couple is that the probability of the younger partners outliving the older one by several years increases, especially in cases such as this where the man is older than the woman by over thirty years. So other things remaining the same, it would be inevitable that Santo would spend a good part of her prime as a widow. Widow remarriages are not as common, especially in a society such as hers. In the case of a younger man marrying an older woman, there would not be as much problems finding another woman after her death.
One can always say that it is not how long you live with your partner that counts but how you live with him. So a few good years with DM may keep Santo happy. That does not take away the fact that she may have to face life on her own for many years unless ofcourse she too dies young (which is still a possibility) or DM lives for a 100 odd years. Even if he does, Santo's burden will only increase, taking care of an ageing man (nobody can defy age associated ailments).
Such things may be fine for a fiction but I am sure many of us would not want such a situation either for ourselves or for our loved ones.

A Saudi Sheikh visiting our forum will LOVE the way we are making the whole 50 year old man & 18 year old girl-in-the-cradle relationship acceptable.....admissable...appropriate & legitimate!!!
Talk about regressed thinking!!!

I haven't seen many BT soaps, so can't comment knowledgably about the sort of bold scenes they have. All I know about BT soaps from people who have watched them is that they have a way of ruining themselves with nonsensical plots and convoluted relationships and I hope Bandini does not go that way. I did watch Kayamath for a while until they ruined it and nothing I saw in it seemed all that bold to me but then boldness I guess is a relative term.

Intimacy can be shown in a lot of different ways and if what I have seen so far is anything to go by, I am sure the creatives will be able to come up with scenes that are appropriate and tastefule for DM-Santo's situation.

As for Suraj's age, I agree it is a mystery. He does look like 4-5 but if he is Subhi's biological child and she died 7 years ago, then he has to be atleast 7. But maybe he is not DM-Subhi's biological child either and we already have doubts about Hiten and Maulik, so maybe none of them(at least the boys) are, lol.

😆 You're right, boldness is a relative term but I think most of us will be squirming in our seats if they show anything on par with KYM in terms of that. 😆

Thats why they have script writers (atleast I hope they do), to come up with appropriate scenes to portray different emotions for different couples in their own way😊. Just like DM-Santo scenes wouldn't have made sense on Milind-Prachi, similarly Milind-Prachi scenes wouldn't make sense for DM-Santo.
