Hritu Dudani

Hritu Dudani

Television actress Hritu Dudani, who is currently playing the role of Ronit Roy's daughter in Imagine's TV serial 'Bandini', wants to clarify to her fans that in real life she is not at all rude or arrogant.

Hoping the audience takes her seriously, she says, "I play the character of Birwa in Bandini, which is a grey shade character, full of attitude, with lots of anger in her. She is a big business tycoon and she does not talk to anyone. She has basically come to be a very rude girl. But in real life I'm completely opposite to what I play in that serial. So when I meet my fans, they get scared to even approach me because they think I'm rude in real life. In fact, I'm very friendly and get along very well with people."

Well Hritu, for the time being, at least your producers should be happy that you're essaying your character so well that fans think you are Birwa even in real life.

Hritu agrees but says that apart from Bandini, she would now prefer to play a positive role if she is approached for another daily soap for a change. "Majorly I would like to do a positive role or if the character is challenging somehow then definitely I would like to do something like that."

The role I would love to play
TV actors confess about which actor's shoes they would love to be in and play the role that he/she is playing on TV. Find out which is the dream role of your favorite TV stars.

Abigail
The role that I think is perfect for me is Phoebe (played by Lisa Kundrow) from the sitcom Friends. The reason is because I feel she resembles the way I am in real life (laughs).

Bandini, one of the longest running shows on Imagine is gearing up to run some more as it readies to leap by 18 years, next month. The show will have a completely different look, however the love between Santo (Aasiya Qazi) and Dharamaraj (Ronit Roy) will only increase.

A source says, "We are working on a leap track currently which will take place in the second week of September. There are many new characters entering in the show and the casting is still on for them. Few old characters like Baa and Bapuji may exit. There would be more tension in Dharmaraj's family though they will stay together under one roof. Most of the characters and the show will have a new look. Post leap Santo and DM's emotional bond will grow stronger."

Santo has recently discovered that Vishaal is her son. "Suddenly Vishaal gets kidnapped and no one will be able to find him. He will remain missing from the Mahiyavanshi family for many days. Santo is heartbroken and she too tries to find her son but to no avail. A helpless Santo will have no option but wait for her son and at that point, the story will take an 18-year leap," the source adds.

Within a week's time the new cast will be finalised and if everything goes as per the schedule then the leap episode will air on September 9.

'Udaan' actor punches Ronit Roy

Mumbai: Good scripts come with a lot of pain for actors and Ronit Roy for sure would agree. In the film Udaan, there is a scene where the lead actor, Rajat Barmecha had to punch Ronit Roy in anger. But the punch was so hard that Ronit was in serious pain.

Explains Ronit, "There's a scene where I have this argument with my son and he is supposed to react and punch me on my face. It left me in a terrible pain because by mistake he actually hit me really hard."

When asked if the act led to any serious damage, he says, "Honestly, the blow that I got on my face has injured my nose and it needs a surgery. It's just that I have been shooting for a reality show and I haven't really got the time to get it fixed."

Well, acting is never an easy task and scenes where punches are required, could for sure turn out to be a risky affair.
