Self defence is only one of the measures that a working woman or a college going girl can use.

And it is clearly shown that this method is meant for them.

For children older women and other women in vulnerable states it obviously cannot be used.

Each group needs a different method.

Where is it being shown that it can be used by young children and older women?

Hi Aparna...😊 I haven't watched the epi so i don't know exactly what was shown...What i intend to say is everywhere we see people asking girls to be cautious...No where they show that a man should be more responsible...

Its a good thing if they have shown that self defense is important for girls...But it would be even better if there was a scene where Shiv addresses men about giving respect to women and treating women with dignity and equality...

There is just video clip were Shiv and Anandi were giving a talk in a girls college and as a part of that they got some experts to demonstrate self defense mechanisms for the college going girls.

What is wrong in teaching a girl to give it as good as she gets?

The roads and the world belongs to her just as it belongs to a man.Why should she rely on the goodness of men and good behavior of men?

Self defence classes are only aimed at working women and college going girls that group is vulnerable to attacks.

Do these women have to stay out of the roads till the men get some sense into their heads?

What is wrong in making a woman more self confident?

Why so much opposition to helping a woman learn how to defend herself?

Why wait only for laws to be made and enforced?

What is wrong if a woman is taught teach a potential rapist a lesson??

There is just one answer to all these questions...the approach is defensive and not pro-active.Defense is never the solution to any problem.The problem is that it is not a full proof solution.The problem is that by forcing the girls to learn martial arts we are provocating the fact that its ok if the govt doesn't do anything for us.The wrong is that why is it a compulsion for me to learn martial arts if I dont wish to???? A man can decide whether he wants to learn self-defense or not then why cant a woman?Why it shud be a need not a choice for her??? Why provocate the fact that no only women will have to always "FIGHT" for themselves.Why we only tell women to fight???Dont we women have the right to live a smooth free fearless lives where we can do what we want. I shud hv the freedom to decide whether i want to learn self-defence or not. If I pay the govt taxes for my safety they are under the obligation to protect me and help me live an easy and free life. A life of my choice. Confidence doesn't come from learning martial arts.I can be internally confident even if I am a house wife.

"The fear of law" is the biggest right of any citizen.My cousin who lives in US told me about a case that had been filed against an electric appliance company who sold a faulty product.They had to pay so much of penalty that they went in debt.Would a faulty appliance make an issue in our country?Though it can be life threatening.That is the power of "fear of law" No one wants to become bankrupt or lose their life just for a moment of fun or sexual satisfaction.

Selfdefens is needed I agree, but only if the girl is able to fight back, she cant fight with 5 or 10 men. epi is not on aired.. my thoughts are not based on epi I was talking about the use of selfdefence in rape issu...if a girl defend herself I will surly proud of her, but I cant expect that she should defend herself from sick mind rapists.

Seriously? Rapists are psychopaths. You can't teach a rapist not to attack a woman, you can't teach a serial killer not to kill, the only thing you can do is stop him. And him knowing it's illegal It will not stop him. So self defense is pretty helpful.
