For the most part, I don't think Ira would have had a say in it. That would be shiv's call when he decided to marry her.

btw sector r besan laddus sold in Itwaari bazaar

never saw them in the itwaari bazars i visited whenever i frequented villages

the itwaari bazaar was cute although it resembled more an oriental handicrafts exhibition , the one ashima visited

the itwaari bazaars i visted were on the roadside with the vendors sitting on the ground and hollering

Ah , but u see she interferes in everything thats Shiv's call just like Sumitra . She believes in 'ladka power' that a boy's mother inherently gets .

Hi kools,
I have only been to one sunday bazaar in my whole life -- it was last year, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat... they call it 'ravivari' there ... but there was nothing exotic with oriental handicrafts like you mention...
rather it was more of a flea market for selling second hand goods and all sorts of knick knacks.
full of second hand jeans etc. Ravivari Definitely not meant for high-end shopping.
There were some people selling food on the pavement -- laddoos, samosas etc. but I would not eat that for reasons of hygiene.
I don't know who was buying chanda's laddoos, it had to be other people from the basti only -- because as an upper-middle class person, I would rather go to a proper halwai and have them make stuff in front of me -- than buy stuff made at home somewhere in the basti - quality of ingredients, hygiene and adulterated oil are all big concerns for me.
But it was cute, chanda had fancy boxes like they do at halwais 😆😆 or like Sridevi did in her role in English Vinglish.

She might not have had much of a say, but that's not to say that she wouldn't whinge about it for whatever reason.

What's weird to me is that Ira seemed like quite a chilled out and reasonable person before marriage. When exactly did her character do a 180 😕 I haven't watched since the replacement and barely watched even from December to February, so I'm a bit out of the loop... but it does just seem weird that they flipped her character around like that. I guess they had to give Anandi some sasural issues CVs aur writers ki jai ho as far as character consistency is concerned 🤪

Actually, it was during the urmi devi episode. Her mind soured towards anandi after the revelation that dadisa had deflected a good rishta from coming to them. But more than that, shiv told his mother sternly to keep quiet and not make a scene right in front of urmi devi. Ira was humiliated by that and felt that shiv could have told her in private ... and then it was a slippery slide downhill after that.

may be they r changing with the cell phone era and using boxes for home made mithais

the bazaars i went to ...and many many times ...were not necessarily held on an Itwaar or Sunday but even on a Wednesday or so ...point is , it is a weekly bazaar. Vendors sit on side of a road and holler out and the villagers flock . Right from cooking utensils to handicrafts like wicker baskets , seasonal fruits , oil lamps , fish , cloth bags , everything is sold there

yes even mithais r there but the ones NOT sold at halwaais , those typical rare ones made only at home ...like heaps of ginger candies coated with glazed sugar syrup etc , u know the ones we see in fairs ...

but i like the Itwaari bazaar track , its intresting for the poor women watching it . Coz cable has reached even jhopadpattis and remote villages.
