lol montages don't make leads story does theme does Have you ever hear a year old character replaced a 5 year lead colors keep doing how much tamasha of promoting Shiv but one cannot deny the fact Jagaya is still male lead of show Its story of Anandi and Jagaya kachi umer ka pake rishte and Shiv and Ganga are parallel leads in their respective lives Without Anandi and Jagaya show doesn't exist and you are saying Jagaya's story is side story ? because on montage Shiv is 😆 and Ratan Singh was not central character but he was one phase in a central character's life who is helping a woman Ganga against this man

Gauri was not lead of show but she was one chapter in leads lives You cannot call her story side story same way you cannot call Ratan story as side story Villians come to create hurdles in leads life Thats how the stories go and on which basis you are calling it side story Where you read Jagaya is supporting character Neither BV is saying neither colors in actual if we see Shiv is a support for Anandi This story and theme is not about him but JaAn

@Suchi

Storyline was nothing. Actors who were in main focus in this track were brilliant and I agree. I also agree that show is never dependent on "one person" alone and BV is certainly not the one to close down due to departure of one person unlike a show in same slot sometime back.

Old favourites are the only reason why BV exists and stays afloat.

But story has to be good or else such gimmicks don't work for long.
If story is haywire and if too many actors from old established cast leave then even lead star can't save the show. Like in case of KGGK, it couldn't last long despite Saakshi's return and her makeovers. All old favorites among positive and negative characters had gone and story was messed up so they wound it up quickly.

Finally, BV certainly can't boast of being different anymore. It very much relied on Ekta's formulae to carry forward. So much for being unique or classy.

@cherry- I see your POV...but the message I saw in it is the extent to which people go for a male child - which as much as we deny - is a fact of Indian society...even today a birth of a male child is celebrated and a girl child is scorned upon not only in villages but in cities too...is that not sad and ridiculous??!! I made this point earlier in FT too...
Ratan Singh did everything for obtaining Mannu and ensuring that no witness is left behind to see what he did and ensuring the Mannu stays with him forever!! It channelled me to think as to how our society is still crazy for a boy!! BV CVs have harped on it since the time of its inception...with Basant's wife expiring in order to conceive a male child!! The same thought process was reflected again in this track with Ratan Singh's attack and his family's thought process
I am happy that the drama ended with Ratan Singh behind the bars and Mannu safe with Ganga...I am happy that Singhs especially DS, showed a tremendous change in the attitude from being regressive to progressive to the extent that she was ready to compromise her and her family for the protection of a stranger!! I am happy that A has such a close bond with her family and both A and S used their presence of mind...I am happy that Sugna, the 'daughter' of the family saved them!! I saw social messages written all over it...but thats JMO...
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
On BV - this show had been predicted with doomsday sooner...it was supposed to be out of top ten, it was supposed to be shut down by May, some of its actors were speculated to have 'quit' because someone else did...
It is surviving and kicking because of the story and the tracks it has to tell...not all are good - Saja, kidnap track was unbearable - but then they come up with the past brilliance again...so point is CONTENT/ TRACKS matter...as against the contention of presence and absence of someone!!

@akash,ok I understood your point of view. But just want to share, balika vadhu is anandi and jagya's story.Jagya is the male lead thats the reason he is still in the show.Jagya is the protagonist thats the reason we can see him and singh family.Otherwise who are singhs just anandi's maika!Singh's are important because of the characters as well as because its the male protagonist's family.Shekhars family is not important because its shiv's family,it is important because its anandi's sasural. If jagya is not important than there is no need to make story for him and singhs separately.Stories can be easily made in shekhars household because thats also a joint family though I am one thousand percent sure no one will watch it,phir bhi.No one will bother about shekhar family,if any of them quits or if they are not shown.A new track is introduced,a new heroin is introduced for jagya just like shiv was introduced for anandi. If you read the story in the wikipedia or somewhere else it clearly says balika vadhu is a story of child bride anandi and jagya...If you see the cast in this forum for example jagya's name comes just after anandi. Then shiv's name occurs.Colors has do injustice to shashank/jagya that doesn't mean we will forget that jagya is as important as anandi and its a story of anandi and jagya not anandi and shiv.Montage ka kya hai, kachche umar ke pakke rishte mein anandi aur shiv ko dikhate hai. They tried to vanish jagya but they couldn't.Ratan singh is a villain who was introduced through ganga and ganga is introduced to pair up with jagya because he is the male protagonist.I hope you understand what I am trying to convey.

Hi, your post complled me to comment, it seems you switch your loyality very soon. It is a very well known fact that story is the back bone of any show but at the same time its execution and presentation is also equally important. In the case of BV except one central character rest every body are excellent in presenting their part which makes us viewers to glue into the show. Even small Mannu and Nandu imotes and brings life to their character. Since all these revolves around the said central character it is becoming painful for us viewers to imotionally connect with the show, but good or bad habits seldom die hence the increase in TRP. Even Ekta kapoor madam knows it so she never disrespect her actors

Hey guyz Today I am really happy. My belief that BV is not mohtaaj of any one person has come true. They have to keep to the story to get good viewership.

I am glad I did not turn my back on the other actors who were very much , are very much responsible for the success of this show.

I am glad I did not criticize any actors or look down upon on so many people who did such hard work to bring this show to us. Regardless of their ups and downs, they stuck to their gun.. They proved that , everything comes down to story and the way a story is told.

They proved that if one person is not satisfying to one's standards, we cannot turn back on sooo many people who are part and parcel of the success of this show. Anup ji, surekha ji, smita ji, Sidharth, Shashank, Sriti( recently), Sudheep, Basant, every person in the show, including the director, camera man, spot man, everyone.

I am really really happy today.
And if BV continues to execute in such manner it will gain back its audience once again.

The success of a show is more related to its story telling than jodis or 'chemistry', specially if its in the genre of Social Message.

The raise of TRP is not just cause of 'violence' as many have claimed but rather its cause of brilliant performances by everyone who were involved. One cannot ignore the brilliant story telling that was happening there.

Once again history repeats itself.
BV is not mohtaj of one person. Rather its always been about the story. Everytime the story went down the Viewers have left it and once the story was back on track .. the viewership has increased. If Bv stops messing around with its storytelling it will gain back whats its lost!

One thing is for sure,
you can HATE BV or LOVE it but you certainly cannot IGNORE it!

very nice post suchi 😊
the track did created a ripples in still water..
Awesome direction n Outstanding performances from all actors.. 👏
Voilence as the genre of the track.. i can't say they have to tone it down but ratan's evilness n his stupidity was evident from the very first promo of ganga..
she came running n bumped into jagya n then followed the goons.. the whole concept of this track was shown at the very first promo , so i had to accept it n can't complain abt violence..
coming to the main lead..
If we take the concept of montage seriously then the there is only one lead in this story that is Anandi.
It represented every phase of her life from
childhood - adulthood ..
The next most important ckt is Jagya , Balak Var..the story maker for everyone even for the lead.. and ofcourse his family comes with him.
the next imp is shiv because he is her husband now.. who will support her in every decision she make...

??
I am confused.
I said BV always will continue despite of the hard times its facing and My loyalty has always been towards the character from day one.
I do not find T to be bad.. I like her. So I am still loyal to Anandi's character no matter who plays it.
and I have always said that the show is run by everyone not just one person so to diss the show and wish it ill is bad. And I brought out that point. SO I do not think I change or switch. In fact , I am happy taht what I believed has come through. Thats why I posted this topic in the first place.

Since you directly directed the thoughts towards me I answered. No offense intended or meant.

Thank you

Someone gave example of 16 Dec case last year. The "bad" in that case are yet to be persecuted and good did not win over bad in that case.

Why do shows like Crime Patrol have high ratings? Why action movies break records? Violence creates sensationalism. Read any book on media. Two things are used to grab eyeballs - violence and sex. This is why news channels also cover "gruesome" murders and massacres in detail. Sometimes they go overboard and it gets flak for being tasteless. (So many rape cases happen even with children. Why only Gudia case got more coverage? It was violence and ruthlessness at its nadir)

Even a happy show like TMKOC got top ratings when Daya was kidnapped by goons and when some new woman had entered claiming to be Jethalal's wife (pati, patni aur woh drama!).

BV's recent high ratings prove that the age old formula still works and that people are more likely to watch the seasoned old actors and established favourite characters rather than the host of new characters the show was stuffed with in recent times.

@Skepblun - Ok to clarify, my post earlier was not in response to your post, so the idea was not to offend u..I read it just now...so its purely coincidental that we both have different POVs to the same topic! I have read ur POVs on earlier topics and have liked it too a couple of times...
So please dont assume that I am here to fight with u or something...I know u watch BV and then critique it...Its all good😊
I just have one thing to comment on - On the 16th december case, that girl lost her life...lost her dreams, her aspirations...no amount of judicial punishment is going to change anything and bring it back for her..so technically good died fighting with evil...it will take years for a ruling on that...n I blame our judicial system for it! @hiralshah169 I agree that craving for male child is strong in India both in villages and in cities(maybe more in cities) because I see that on daily basis around me. To see these social evils I do not need the help of any serial , being aware of your surrounding and newspapers are enough for it.

My point is we all are aware of these social evils but in their zeal to gain TRP's BV makers have not dealt with the issue sensitively,. They created OTT drama which was not suitable for 8 pm slot and also in this graphic display of violence even their message was lost somewhere (which is evident by mixed reactions on forum).

Right now the way BV CV's are executing their tracks it is similar to lots of other serials that aired on television. They are lacking in their research to back their stories, they have made mockery of Indian education system ( see the MBA of Sanchi and wihtin two months jump of Ganga from class third to passing Boards).Right now other serials also taking issues of importance of girl child, women education, women empowerment etc and even some of them have executed their tracks in a better way than BV.

As for BV being a sinking ship
BV was an iconic show with a difference but today it is like just another show on TV. After the replacement they have shown so many crap tracks and OTT drama and kitchen politics, that they have lost their iconic status. Now it is just like any other serial, there is no emotional connect.
As I said in my previous post it will keep on running as long as Colors don't get another big show that BV was a few months back. By showing sensational tracks and Ekta kapoor style stories it may even come at NO. 1 slot but it will not be the same Balika Vadhu. BV may run for another five years just like other shows on Colors but for me it has lost its soul and essence. My POV...

PS- It was not Sugna who saved the family but Padma on whose complaint the police force came and took action. Had Sugna came alone on Anandi's call or an inspector came alone on Shiv's call they would also been taken hostage. So, according to me Padma was the Saviour...
