Isn't it? It is always so powerful. Her resolution and her riposte, the witty comeback to the medicine shop comment, were fabulous.

Doodle, you are right. I consider myself a strong person. I have been very independent since the day I started working. I can connect with Priya more than Ram. That contract waala scene, I keep revisiting it multiple times. I haven't seen the complete episode yet though. Ram and Priya are the two sides of the same coin who chose different mechanisms to overcome their past traumas. They complete each other

I can so agree with you. I have been an independent thinker since my childhood. My parents/family/sasural/friends/ everyone know that they can't make me do otherwise if I say something. But that contract scene gets me every time I watch it. She would have NEVER signed the contract if it were not for her mother's respect. Hats off to that girl.

Every time Ram tells her not to step onto the carpet, I feel like telling her that - "TEACH him a lesson he NEVER forgets."

Her dialogue that she will not even take the carpet back was just the cherry on the top. He was so bowled over. Remember, when Ram comes back with Vedika, he steps on that carpet, she indirectly reminds him about the same

Your in depth analysis on Ram and Priya has left me in awe. It is both the good and bad in life which makes us what we are and how we perceive the things that we see. I am so bowled by the parallels in the two analysis'- the darkness in Ram's life akin to the rain in Priya's. And the light ( spectrum of colours) equivalent to the Sun. To truly appreciate the good, they had to go through the bad. And how they both see purple and start experiencing emotions long forgotten by them- just too good ( Your Purple Rose reminds me of the love potion in 'A Mid Summer Night's Dream. Purple petals were used by Puck to cast the love spells. 'Where the bolt of cupid fell. It fell upon a little western flower before milk white now purple with love's wound. Maidens call it love in idleness'.)Thank you for helping me understand Ram and Priya better and enabling me to see all the scenes you have mentioned in a new light. The first 15 episodes are pure magic and i probably know them by heart. By quoting them, you have added more magic in the show for me. But even more than that, I want to thank you for reminding me how much I love books and sending me back to them. I remember reading A civil contract as a 17 year old.. wasn't much impressed and had kind of dismissed it..But today, so many years later, i have picked it up again. I wasn't ready for it then and wouldn't be today too if it wasn't for you. So thank you. And i have made a note of all the books you have mentioned. The ones I haven't read are on my list to read now. And yes, your dp is a constant source of delight as are all your posts <3.

You are being very generous. Thank you. Now, you have reminded me to watch North and South again. Last year during quarantine, I think I read it for the third time.

Yes, for Ram, his life was in complete darkness. When we see him pining for attention and V's rubbing it on his face, it gets me every time. I could only know that he was living in a dark room without any ray of hope. His notion of love is very monotonous; for him, love is always sweet and comfortable. He never understood that love should make one uncomfortable. It is never supposed to be calm. There should be a storm in one's heart. In the IV, when Pri says that love should make one uncomfortable, then he starts to look at love through a different definition.

Yes, I thought of 'A Mid Summer Night's Dream,' but I needed a poem about dewdrops or 'boondein' to connect Ram's 'baarish ki woh pehli boondein' dialogue. So, I chose the On a Drop of Dew poem.

Oh, I am glad you picked up A Civil Contract again. Great, have a good read. Out of all the references, you can try A Light between Oceans, a tear-jerker, but absolutely worth it!

I really like the episodes of the contract, I review them in my spare time. Your and Priya's concepts here are very close to me. Independence is the most important thing. Due to health problems, I do not have that independence that would be complete, but where possible, I create it. I don't expect a man, marriage or anything else to provide for me. She got an education, started working during her studies, got used to solving problems on her own, sorting out her conflicts, communicating or not communicating with others.

Therefore, I absolutely support the way Priya broke into the familiar world of Ram and destroyed 1000 stereotypes at once, showing her character and signing these papers, silently, through rain and other obstacles.

Ram had no chance to stay in his illusory cozy shell "Vedika and stepfamily are saints, I love Vedika, my world is perfect."

Ram could not help but be impressed by a man he had never seen, for him the name "Priya" eclipsed the name "Vedika" precisely because a hurricane of something real, honest and not interested in him otherwise than in a human sense burst into his life.

Yes, you are right again, based on emotions towards people, Ram is looking for excuses for what is not necessary, therefore the position of Priya, who sees things directly, regardless of connections with people, causes Ram some shock and admiration. How can a woman be so strong and principled, living in a world where men and strange stereotypes always rule? I am sure that this question is still beating in Ram's head, so he falls in love even more

He was blowed over by her in that moment.

He knew this girl is completely different from everyone he has ever encounter and in that moment he knew that he needs to earn her respect, her care, her friendship.

His relationship with her won't come easy to him.

Absolutely! Like I always write that Pri is a no-nonsense character and today when he said that in the sneak peek, it felt how much he knows her. Winning her will be the ONLY difficult thing he might ever encounter in his life. He has started to understand the definition of love - far from his understanding!

Exactly he got Everyone very easily and the one he didn't got he never fought for them.

Priya is the first fir him, for whom he wants to fight.
