Recap: Ram and Priya conversation over phone

Part 10:

The next day, a Monday...it was a busy morning for both Ram and Priya. Apart from an SMS, they did not get to talk. Sham ko Priya ne Karthik ko jldi ghar bulaya aur usko daanta ki Natasha ki baat pehle kyu nahi batayi. Karthik apologized and said that she was busy with the annual day function isi liye disturb nahi kiya. Fir Karthik ne Natasha ke bare me saare details batayi. Uske baad Priya ne Ram k baare me Karthik ko bataya...Karthik was very excited. Then both of them discussed and decided to talk to their parents. Similarly Ram also spoke to daadi and his mom Krishna-ji about Priya and Karthik.

Raat ko Priya ne Ram ko call kiya around 9:30.

Ram smiled: "Fiiinallyyy fursat mili mujhe yaad karne ki..ah?"

Priya smiled back: "Kyu? Apne konsa fursat bana kr mujhe dus baarah call kiye aaj?"

Ram winked: "Accha! Kaho to kal se har dus baarah min me call kardu?!"

Priya retorted: "Ufff aap bhi na. Aise karenge to mujhe college se aur ghar se bahar nikal denge"

Both of them laughed. Then Ram asked after a pause: "To ...aaj kya kya kiya?"

Priya: "aaj...aaj karthik aur Natasha ki baat ki ghar me"

Ram was excited: "Wow...kya bole apke parents?"

Priya: "haan maan gaye...maa-papa..and mujhe bhi Karthik ki choice par puura bharosa hai. Aur fir Natasha ke bare me Karthik ne kafi kuch bataya...accha laga hai sabko."

Ram: "That's so sweet. Aur kya bole apke maa-papa..actually unhe ek baar chhoti se milaana hai...they should all meet and talk to each other na?"

Priya smiled: "Ji...maa-papa aap sabko invite karenge, shayad is weekend ke liye."

Ram: "Good good. Aur...aur kya baat hui?"

Ram obviously expect kar raha tha ki Priya ne khud ki shaadi ki bhi baat ki hogi...uski update chahiye thi usko.

Priya jaanti thi par chup rahi : "Aur kya...kuch nahi."

Ram tried to explain: "Matlab...unki shadi ki baat hone ke baad...fir...fir kya hua?"

Priya: "Fir? Fir dinner time hua. Mae kitchen gayi"

Ram was losing patience: "okkk...fir?"

Priya smiled: "Fir roti banayi aur baingan ubala"

Ram: "Areee wo nahi pucha maine..baat kya hui ye batao"

Priya: "Oh baat!"

Ram felt relieved: "Haan whi to...kya baat hua?"

Priya knew very well what he wanted to know...but she was simply not ready to reveal.

Priya: "Zyada kuch nahi...sabne kaha baingan ka bharta buht accha bana hai."

Ram lost his temper: "Oh God mae goli maar dunga us baingan ko yaar."

Priya made a puppy face: "Oh! Pehle pata hota to bachaa ke rkhti na...ab khatm ho gya."

Ram: "Priyaaa!"

Priya bit her tongue and smiled: "Kya hua aise kyu chilla rahe hai"

Ram: "Kuch nahi. Mae phone rakhta hu."

Priya laughed loudly looking at her phone: "Oh...mae to ek aur baat kehna hi bhul gayi thi par its ok.."

Ram cut-in and spoke like a kid: "Arre nahi ...mae to...mae to aise hi bol raha tha...tum batao na...please please please"

Priya ko buht pyara laga Ram ka yu kehna..

Priya blushed: "Maine hamari baat bhi ki..."

Ram smiled...he just waited for her to continue

Priya: "Maan gaye...actually...khush...buht khush hai. Par..."

Ram: "Oh...par kya?"

Priya thought for a second: "Nahi kuch nahi..khush hai bas"

Ram insisted: "Nahi btao na what is it? Please ab ke baad mujhse kuch chhupao mat Priya...you can trust me."

Priya felt better: "I trust you completely par ye trust ki baat nahi h... baat ye hai ki hum middle class family se hai. Aur aap itne...to shaadi...aur do-do

shaadiyan ek saath karne me thoda financial..."

Ram interrupted: "Ok ok samaj gaya...relax...aur ab ye baat biklul chod doo aur btao is there anything else? Koi aur issue hai?"

Priya: "Issue to ye bhi nahi hai manage kar lenge par.."

Ram: "Are kaha na ye topic chhodo... iske alawa aur koi baat hai???"

Priya: "Soch rahe the ki kya Natasha hamare ghar me adjust hogi??...I mean...wha har tarha ki luxury and comfort hai...yaha bas necessities hi hai, no

comforts...kal ko use dikkat ho sakti hai."

Ram: "Fikar mat karo ye sab baatein maine us se already kar li thi. She is mature and has thought about it completely and only then decided. Mae guarantee deta hun she will adapt and adjust very well. Aapke ghar me jo hai jese hai wo khush rahegi. (after a pause) Suno...meri baat par vishwas hai to ab muskuraado please"

Priya smiled: "Hmm."

Ram grinned: "Good...ye hui na baat! Ab mae kuch bolu?"

Priya: "Sure..."

Ram: "Maine bhi aaj sham ko ghar me sab discuss kiya. And as expected...sab khush hai dono rishton se. Infact they are all eager to meet you!" he smiled.

Priya blushed: "oh..."

Ram: "Khush ho na?"

Priya smiled. He could hear her happiness. He said "Mae bhi khush hun. Ghar me bhi sab khush hai. Chalo ab so jao, take rest."

Priya smiled: "aap bhi, good night"

Ram: "Good night Priya"

Ram aur Priya ki baton ka silsila jaari raha puura hafta. They all met at Sharma house over the weekend...boht baat-cheet hui...sabko pasand aaye dono rishte. Ab tak to green signal tha...ab license bhi mil gaya dono couples ko...to meet, to date and to know each other better. Fir pandit-ji se muhurat niklwaya...it was decided that both the weddings was on the same day...about a month later...22nd October ko. Shadi ki dher saare taiyyariyan krni thi.

The next weekend...Seeing Ram from the balcony, Priya came down...she was in a deep red silk sari with black zari bordering it. She had left her well groomed hair open. The glow on her face, the charm she carried and the smile she flashed at her man left him speechless. He stood leaning against the car door, just absorbing her beauty even as she walked towards him with all the grace in the world. Priya ko hi dekhne laga, muskuraate huwe..

Priya sharmayi: "Aise kyu dekh rahe hai...chaliye na"

Ram smiled back: "Dekhne do na...itni khubsurat lag rahi ho, thoda aankhon me sama lu...

Priya cut him off: "Uff subah subah dialog-baazi...chaliye ab.."

Ram smiled...he opened the door for her, made her sit and then came back to drive.

Ram turned the ignition key: "Mindblowing you look. Red suits you well" And stared at her again.

Priya bent her head down: "Aap bhi buht handsome lag rahe hai...specially with this red tie"

Ram adjusted it: "Accha! Thanks my dearo!!"

Priya: "Aaj kaha le jaa rahe hai? Aur sari me aane ko insist kyu kiya? Kisi ke ghar le jaa rahe hai?"

Ram laughed: "Nahi...ek chhota sa press meet hai. The print media wants to publish about our marriage. Maine boht manaa kiya tha par you know how it works na...din raat phone kar rahe hai ek hafte se. So agar hum oblige nahi kiye to chori-chhupe hamare pics kheench lenge...and wo sab chhap jaye to it would be awkward for us... Isi liye accept kar liya...and that's why I wanted ki tum sari pehno...you look all the more gorgeous...(after a pause) Par haan fikr mat karo I have given them very clear instructions ki koi bhi ulta seedha sawaal nahi karenge. Priya heard him out patiently: "Oh hmm samaj skti hun...and im fine with it..." she smiled.

In the next 15 minutes they reached the press club where both got a very warm reception amidst ample security. Sab arrangements kiye gaye the aur public allowed nahi tha. Raya started walking along the long corridor. Priya ko thoda uncomfortable lag raha tha...Ram could sense her anxiety.

Ram smiled: "Don't worry Priya mae saath hun na" and held her hand. Pehli baar usne Priya ka hath thaama...Priya ne uska haath dekha fir uska chehra. Ram noticed it. She smiled at him and he smiled back. It was a sweet moment. Fir kuch journalists dikhe to Priya ne conscious hokr hath chudwaya.

Conference shuru hui. Questions shuru huwe...kafi relevant and positive the...shadi ka date, venue, Karthik-Natasha ke wedding ke questions, dono weddings ke events, guest lists, whether Priya will continue to work after marriage, kya Priya Kapoor Industries ke board member banegi...aise questions aaye. Agar thoda bhi uncomfortable laga to Ram ne jawab dene se inkar kar diya. He took on most of them...slowly Priya bhi confident lagi, she started to answer questions about her profession, education, family background etc. She kept a smile throughout the session...buht smart and warm answers de rahi thi. Ram ko accha lag raha tha...she exceeded his expectations. Many of them complimented that they make a fine pair.

The last question...

Journo: "Sir aap gussa mat kijiye...par ye sawal buht se logon ke mann me hoga...there were so many Page 3 women who aspired to marry you... aise me aapne Priya ma'am ko kyu chuna?"

Ram laughed: "Nahi gussa kyu hounga. Well, I don't know aap kiski baat kar rahe hain. If you know them, please ask them to meet Priya. They will automatically understand the reasons behind my decision."

That brought a smile on everyone's face. Priya ko bhi accha laga. She looked at Ram who naughtily winked at her. She was shocked...she simply blushed. Photo-session shuru hua. Ram buht protective raha. He didn't let anyone take individual pictures of her. Uske saath raha...dignity aur pyar chhalak raha tha unke beech. He even instructed the media they should first send him whatever photos and articles they want to publish so that he will review them first. Just before leaving the room, some shook hands with them.

Ek journo ne Priya ko kaha ki she is lucky. Ram replied: "Correction. She chose me, so I feel lucky." Aise kehte huwe Ram ne Priya ko dekha...wo sharmayi...it was a picture-perfect moment.

Ram Priya wapis car ki taraf chalne lage...

Ram: "Thanks Priya. You handled it so well. Actually kal hi batane ka socha tha...par laga ki shayad tum tense hokar raat ko so na hi paogi..."

Priya laughed: "Nahi...aisa nahi hai. Mae outspoken nahi hun par itna introvert bhi nahi hun. I can confidently speak my mind, itna bhi darr nahi lagta society se. I just go by the other person...wese bhi ab aap mere sath hain to mujhe koi darr ho hi nahi skta Ram." She said and looked into his eyes.

Ram ruk gaya...he had heard every word with so much interest and love. Usko boht accha laga. Priya knew he was still living in those sentences...

Priya: "Chaliye na" she smiled.

Ram smiled back: "Hmm ab shopping time, chalo lets go".

Dono ne dher saara shopping ki. It was around 6 PM. Ram got a call.

Priya: "Ab kaha?"

Ram: "Kapoor Mansion"

Priya: "Are waha kyu?"

Ram: "Kuch nahi...mae kuch bhool gaya hun wo lekar aaunga...fir tumhe ghar chod dunga...please? And smiled at her. She nodded and smiled back.

Ram and Priya reached Kapoor Mansion. Priya car se utri. Ram insisted that she also goes inside. Priya ne maan liya. Andar jaakar Priya ne dekha ki Sudheer aur Shipra ji, Karthik, Natasha sab the.

Priya was surprised: "Aap sab...yaha?"

Shipra: "Ram ne hum logon k shopping k liye subah hi gaadi bheji thi . To Krishna ji aur daadi ke saath hamare bhi lag-bhag saare purchases ho gaye..."

She looked at Ram...

Ram: "Haan... I thot lets all meet up...saare purchases saath me beth kar dekhen...ek dusre ko dikhaye..."

Natasha smiled: "Aur saath me Priya bhabhi ki favorite kulfi khaye ..." she said and opened up a box containing dozens of kulfis. It was Ram's

idea so he was smiling at her. Priya was thrilled about the whole thing. Sharmas and Kapoors ne kulfi khayi...Priya ko boht chhed rahe the Karthik aur Ram...kulfi ko lekar... buht masti ki sab ne...kisi na kisi k tang khinch rahe the...sabko accha laga. fir sabne apne apne shopping items ek dusre ko dikhaya...they had a great time together. Fir Krishna-ji ne Sharmas ko dinner khane ko insist kiya...It was almost 10PM when they finished dinner. Fir Sharmas apne ghar ko nikle.

Jaate waqt Ram aur Priya darwaze se car tak jaa rahe the...unse thoda aage Nuts-Karthik ...Sudheer-shipra already car me bethe the...

Ram: "To..kesa raha.."

Priya: "Boht zyada accha..apne aaj fir se jhuut bola ki kuch bhuul gaye the aur yaha lene ke liye aaye" and smiled.

Ram smiled back: "hmm...wese sirf mae nahi...hum dono ne kuch bhula hai.."

Priya: "Kya?"

Ram: "Humari shadi to fix ho gayi taiyyariyan bhi ho gayi hain.

Priya knew he was hinting at something: "To?"

Ram winked: "Wo magical 3 words...abhi tak reh gaye hai na"

Itne me Karthik and Natasha ne peeche mud kar dekha...aur wait karne lag gaye RaYa ke. Karthik said "aao na di"

Priya giggled to Ram: "sun liye na 3 magical words.."aao na di"..ab chup-chap chaliye..."

Ram got irritated: "Karthik...tum jao na gate tak aate hai."

Karthik: "Nahi sir...nuts bhi tired hai aap bhi...aap andar jayiye mae aur di chale

jayenge" and smiled.

Ram seemed helpless...he made a face to Priya...she giggled all the more and quickly walked towards Karthik. Nuts bhi Ram k taraf chalne lagi.

Ram could not show off his irritation to Karthik or Natasha...he just smiled sarcastically and waved a good-bye to Priya and Karthik...who walked out of KM ...
