Oh you asked! It was half a joke tho. 😆

You remember the Yayati+Shukracharya's curse wala story?

There when Devayani and Sharmishtha were bathing, Pavan only messed up their clothes and sparked off that rivalry na. 😉

That rivalry which finally led Yayati to nominate Puru instead of Yadu, and then both the Yadu and Puru/Kuru dynasties spiraled into the great War (with a lot more impetus and a little nudging from what I like to call the Gandhar Effect). 😆

Uparachira Vasu had a reproduction accident with a fish when he was away from his wife. Said fish got pregnant with boy and girl twins. Dasa Raja found kids in fish and brought them to the king. Vasu kept boy and gave girl to Dasa Raja to raise.

Satyavati had many marriage proposals including from Asita, who was Nandagopa's brother.

Vasu instructed Dasa Raja to refuse as the king wanted Satyavati to marry Shanthanu.

So yeah, Uparachira Vasu played behind the scenes in Dasa Raja's manipulations.

FYI. The twin boy that Vasu kept later became king of Matsya. King Virat was his descendant. So things came full circle with Abhimanyu Uttara marriage.

Even more interestingly, said Asita's son Devala had a daughter Sannati who married king of Panchala.

So Krishna's foster cousin's daughter was married to Drupad.

Note: kings of Panchal were called Brahmadutta, a fact confirmed by Bheeshma.

One of the Buddhist jatakas actually says Brahmadutta was also king of Kasi. He killed king of Kosala and married the pregnant queen who had a a daughter, KANHA, who then married sons of Pandu. As in Panchali. So if we put both together, Panchali was Krishna's foster cousin's granddaughter. I think at some point she does call Krishna matula, so it's entirely possible.

Which makes me uncomfortable because unless Krishna were very young compared to Devala, it puts Arjuna et al at her grandfather's age also.

Possibility is high Krishna WAS much younger because Asita was clearly Shanthanu's gen. Devala would've been Bheeshma's. Sannati/Drupad's wife would've been Pandu's gen, thus putting Panchali at Pandava gen. So I assume Krishna, as Arjuna's contemporary, was around same age.

If I have to name one person, it has to be either Dhritarashtra or Duryodhana. Tough choice.
