Or the best you could do is to copy initial and final frames of the GIF with lesser no of frames, in a controlled way, till it has the same no. of frames as the other one. :)

And, by controlled I mean, maybe two copies of one frame, for the first/last four, or as it seems fit. :)

Also, while making GIFs from scratch (eg. only text and cartoon chars, i.e. nothing with 'noise' in it), keep the mode to "No Dither". :)

I used tomake gifs and I've just catched up and I've noticed minus.com doesn't exist anymore?
