Appy first tried the brightness tutorial in both pic...here they are -

and then blend them as you said..here -

then tried the Blur effect..here it is..😃

How to get a glow effect in simple easy steps?

[I always use 500X400 or 400x500 image size for all my edits. Parameters will vary if the size is more or less than mine]

Step One : Duplicate the background layer

Step Two : Apply level right above the background layer to darken it. *the more you darken the base picture the better contrast you will get. The parameters will vary from picture to picture*
82 | 1.00 | 255

Step Three : Select the duplicate layer the change the mode to screen.

Step Four : Go to filters and then apply Gaussian blur. Keep the parameter to 2.
[I have replied Gaussian blur 3 more times to achieve the desired effect. Keeping it 2 gives you flexibility you can apply according to your preference.

And here you go.
[It looks similar to my first tut but it isnt. It gives a very different effect]

Note : Also remember the glow effect works best is the pictures that has light backgrounds and portraits.

Do hit like if you like my tut and also leave your feedbacks. I am slowing trying to work on your requests. This tut was suggested by manyarsh.

I am working on how to blend in black background. That will be my next tut.

Appy will try this soon...😃..and for the blending I did it with black background..and as you can see..a black boarder appear where I use the blending..😆
