Just posting my standard way of making a normal gif..

First of all do have in mind, what size u wanna make..

If for tumblr, u can use the format ratio, i use the the 16:9(250:141px).. U can still experiement with the image crop and image size according to your wish..

First I go to file>import>video frames to layers.. And then I choose the video I want to wrk on..

Once u click on the video u want to work, u will see a box appear which u need to use and edit the part u want to show in the gif...Selected range, choose your range(don have a long range, it will create noise unwillingly because there are too many frames).. remember limit to every 2/3 frames is checked.. U can edit the number of frames of limit, this means the editor skips frames which are similar.. Click ok once u are satisfied.. Now your video is imported as layers and frames.. Usually to avoid confusion i select all frames and all layers and group the layers... that way if i add any coloring and effects, i wont be confused with layers..

Ofcourse the first edit u do is to crop the pic, u can use your desired dimensions and use image size to decrease its size...

Now look at your frames..Use control or shift to select frames which u don want.. Then below the animation timeline, click at the icon at side(the dustbin icon), it will delete the frames u have selected... (NOte: please DO NOT use the delete button on your keyboard, because it will ONLY delete layers but NOT the frames)..

This done, now change the loop time of your gif.. If by playing they are too fast, u can select all frames and click at the arrow near the timing an change according to your want...

Do play the gif every now and then to see if its working or if u like the edit u just made.. (NOTE: remember to select all the frames when making any edit)

Once u are satisfied, now u can proceed to coloring and sharpening the gif... (NOTE : rmb to change to video timeline if u are sharpening the gif)

Plus if u wanna use topaz clean on your GIF, u don have to do it on every frame or have your PS force close when saving it... Once u use topaz clean and smart sharpen in video timeline mode, instead of saving it, u render it as a video first.. Then re open again and then now save it normally...

Save for web devices>

settings are selective/diffusion/colors:256/dither:100%/looping options:forever and hit the save button and walla u are done!!

I don knw the setting used in the above, but my usual setting is crispy style, clean 0,0,9/edges 2, 1.93, 0.25/texture 0,1,2.. It also helps if u duplicate your first pic and set the duplicate to screen(bright). soft light(dark) and use smart sharpen after using topaz...😳
