just wait till I get U on the MOW thread......😑

I was just joking...next time I will just congratulate you. 😳

Sorry folks !! I could not log in the whole day. My husband just decided to take the laptop apart yesterday night to 'clean' it...has just now put it back together after I raved and ranted and pleaded to fix it quickly....he is really sweet, yesterday he had forgot his laptop in the office so he actually went back at night in the snow to fetch it so that I could use it at night while mine one was getting the much needed bath.... πŸ€—

Hi Minnie !

Sorry for the delay in asking you questions on MOW ... just not had the chance ! But firstly i would like to wish you a very belated happy birthday !! hope you had a great day!

Thank you....😳. I did !!!

I have been reading you MOW..you write very well..! my questions for you are:

- what would be your best birthday present ever?

In future tense??? ...well....don't know. I don't really wish for much, I will be happy if I continue to have what I have now in terms of love and happiness for ever to come.

- whom are you closest to on this forum ?

I am very close to many, but sree, anitha, jprasad, and vijay are very close to me.

- what should we add to the forum you feel ?

many many things, but you see, i don't want to take away Vijay's job...😳

- what is life all about, in your opinion ?

Living fully and letting others live fully as well.

- could you tell me what you think 'being in love' is all about ?

10-15 years - a headon rush for anyone whom you find goodlooking;

15-20 years - a feeling of lightheadedness when someone you dream about says 'I love you" and constant thoughts of ' I can't live without'...

20 - 25 years - the feel of a bonding, friendship, and the reality of spending the whole life with that someone not looking that daunting;

25+ - when you really want to be with someone inspite of the bills, the cleaning, the nagging, the taken for granted factor, you can really know what it is like to be in love.

- how long were you in labour for ? (sorry if this is a personal question)

During neil, about six hours, before he suddenly decided to go right up instead of moving down - I had to be operated upon in emergency.

no labour during my younger one - C sec due to complications at the end of eight month.

- your favourite food..>!? (not aloo gobi by any chance hey!!)

hhehheeh, nah, it is gobi aloo...😳 gocchaa !!!πŸ˜†

It's butter chicken.

will be back with more...!

look forward to it....

aloo gobi !

This is a wonderful thread you are running - great questions, and often even greater answers! πŸ˜›

Hope you had a great birthday and anniversary and (slightly) belated wishes for a great year ahead 😊.....and (hope it is allowed), but πŸ€—πŸ˜‰

It is, with your wife's written permission πŸ˜‰

OK, now the compulsory questions...

1) You seemed to be mega-pro-simran....but not anymore it seems? Is that so? and if it is, then how comes? πŸ˜‰

I still like Simran. The Doctor Simran I had started liking was a different person. Today also I don't really have anything against her, but I don't really relate to her as I don't relate to the serial anymore. A few situations here and there at times appeal to me, but that's about it. As someone pointed out in another thread, we need a conclusion and hence we are still following it .... I guess I too loved her at one point of time immensely and hence can't let go of that image easily.

2) Who would you replace the actors in astitva with? This has been discussed before, but I can't remember what you wrote (if u did)....So, you can choose which characters and actors to replace...e.g. I woulld replace the older simran with Madhuri Dixit, and make her daughter astha as nikki aneja walia....What would u do? You don't have replace with other actors as well...e.g., I would have replaced Saurabh with the old bean wawahehe....

πŸ˜† II, U do come up with wierdest of questions.

I'll go with your choice of older Simran, but I would take the one who played Divya in role of Sia. This Sia irritates me to no end. Or take Shweta Salve.

For Sid, I would love Mihir Mishra. He looks the age and he looks terrific as a doctor 😳.

Dude, Sanjay Dutt...that was rude...it is Minnie's week to be MOW, so she is allowed to write whatever she wants to. Plus its a sweet story. If you dont like it, dont enter the discussion - as simple as that!

MOW = Member of the Week. That is the name of this post anyways. Its not a question of "gussa hone ka" but a question of "irritated by rudeness" Anyways, good luck at IF...

I see. So, in what way is Manhattan more advanced than LA? I mean is it the openness of he people or the place? We plan on visiting LA next year (We have only visited the Bay Area prior to this), do you have any suggestions as to which places other than Hollywood and Disney are worth visiting/seeing there? Are 4-5 days anough to spend at the place, or would that be rushed?

From what I have seen and heard from friends, manhattan is much more exciting and there is a lot more things to do. I guess the famous hospitality factor plus the Manhattan being manhattan thing woks in favour. It's also a hollywood stars hub, so I guess it's latest in fashion as well, plus it being a melting pot of different cultures accounts for it's shedding the conventional attitude of the rest of the North. LA, in comparison, is a little laid back. Though truthfully I haven't had that much time to delve more deeply, so I cud be completely wrong there.

If you are planning to go to Disney, then that would take a lot of time. Other than Disney and Hollywood, there is Universal Studios of course. Don't miss the Rhodeo Drive - it's spectacular. But don't go on a Sunday, you will miss everything. Beside these, the beaches of Santa Monica and Santa Barbara are a must see. The PCH is unbelievable. There are some breathtaking Danish towns up in the folds of Angel Hills if you have a taste for natural landscapes. LA downtown is worth a visit at night. In terms of beauty, LA on the whole is truly breathtaking.

If you cut down on your Disney tour, 4/5 days are more than enough.

So, what are your views on love marriages and arranged marriages? What do you think are the pros and cons of both?

Hmnn....that's a tough one, and I guess difficult to answer with sounding cliched.

Frankly, I have seen the success and failures of both kinds, that too from the most unexpected quaters, so I am not sure I can give a yardstick to any of the attributes.

I feel the bottomline is, no matter how you get into the marriage, after a while, the only thing that works for it is your commitment towards it to make it work.

The only visible difference that I have seen in both kind of marriages is that the couples in arranged marriages have a hesitant start - they are both dealing with an unknown factor - so the first year often is frought with adjustments while the ones in loved marraiges fight with the heightened expectations they usually have of their spouse because of the close proximity with each other prior to their marriage. So, in the initial period of marraige, the teething problems, as I call it, vary in nature for the couples of both types of marraiges. But after that, the equations start getting based on the same level for both .

In the end, it's all a call of luck. If you are lucky, you will get Mr or Mrs right anyway.

Ok, now, can i get the recipe of Paneer Pakora from you? My hubby loves Panner dishes, so I am keen in learning more and more Paneer Dishes...If not in this thread, PM me the Recipe. πŸ˜†

It's easy πŸ˜›: Cut the paneer in rectangular pieces, keep them big, marinade them in salt, sugar, few drops of vinegar, a little garam masala, and chopped green chillies. keep aside for two hrs.

Make a pasty batter of cornflour with water, salt, a pinch of baking soda, red chilli powder, a lil turmeric powder and a lil sugar.

Dip each paneer piece carefully in the batter, make sure to brush off the green chillies off it, and deep fry it. Stick a toothpick into it for easy pick.

Do you like Vegetarian food or Non-vegetarian food more?

non veg..πŸ˜›

How do Neil and Aryan relish food? What do they like the most?

They have nothing called 'food' in their dictionary. "Food" is an annoyance they have to put up with because of their villain mom.

What they do know is chocolates, ice creams, pizza and sandwich. These are not food. These are 'snacks' to be had strictly for enjoyment.

Minnie, as far as I know you, you are a great mom to your kids... What is the advise that you would like to give all the mothers in this forum or would-be mothers?

Thanks Sree πŸ€—....Enjoy your kids. The kiddy years don't last, they grow up in no time. It's easy to get frustrated, but don't let it get to you. However, however much you hate it, discipline is very important, the whole future of the child depends on it. Plus, while being a mom, just don't forget to give yourself a little time as well. That makes you a better parent.

What according to you is the Success to Marriage?

When each half understands that there is no use trying to make the other half understand that their point of view is more fun !!! So when each agrees to what the other says without even listening - U know the marriage is a success !!!

What actually comes to your mind first when you hear these terms: "Love", "Friendship", "Husband's togetherness", "Understanding in Marriage", "Virtues and Discipline in Life", "Important Virtue for a Woman"

Baap re !!! Sree, I think I will need a dictionary and a thesarus !!! You are taking a pscycology exam???😑

OK, what my reeling mind can make out, these are the following:

Love - is relative to your age, mood, looks, fame and bank balance πŸ˜‰. The rest is marriage.

Friendship - a bond where each has a tissue for the other always at hand.

Husband's togetherness - only tolerable when the other one in the 'togetherness' is you....

Understanding in marriage - The ability to understand when to keep your mouth shut !!!πŸ˜‰πŸ˜†

"Virtues and Discipline in Life" - chapters in Moral science book in school

"Important Virtue for a Woman" - The most repeated line since the day a girl is born.😳

I will be back dear!!! So wait for me!!!😳

I know. You are a tireless worker.πŸ˜’πŸ˜‘

πŸ˜† You are welcome anyway πŸ€—.
