First of all,I would like to congratulate you on your brilliant replies to the various questions.I am always impressed by wit and humour.Wonderful to have you as the MOW.Your kids have lovely names.
Thank you Akshata !!! I am glad you enjoyed 😛😛
1.Are you feeling like a celebrity answering all those questions about your pets and peeves?
😆 No, I am feeling like an interviewee being grilled for a reaaaaallllly sought after job....
2.What about Astitva appealed to you, initially and,
The novel plot - the strength of Dr Simran's character, the real life picturiasations of the situations, the sheer chemistry between Simran and Abhi, the very life like characers of Manas, Anandi, Urmila, even Abhi's mom, Ashwin and Kiran . The plots were natural, the acting mindblowing, the show was simply superb. And truly different.
3.What has changed your opinion?
The situations shown now are completely convoluted and plots are unrealistic , too many unnatural things happening at the same time to the same person, the acting too now is often routine, the glitches numerous, the sudden appearance of completely black and white characters instead of the greys.....some awful actorsand awful acting, even the lead actors have started looking jaded, seem to go through the motions......I can go on and on....to sum it up, it would have been better to conclude it when Abhi came back to Simran the first time around. Introducing Neha in to the serial was the biggest mistake that Sinha made. That turned the serial completely unrealistic !!!! Astha as a character was completely wasted, now it's as if she never existed.....how unrealistic can U get !!!
4.I have known Bengalis to be very artistic and talented,as is evident in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.Have you learnt singing or play any instrument?
I am afraid the answer to both is no. I used to sing a long time back, but now I have stopped. I never had any formal training. I hope I can rectify that someday.I did a lot of theatre though.
5.Do you like to dress up traditionally on occasions or find it cumbersome and do so because you have to?
(I do understand it's not practical to wear traditional clothes in the US on a day to day basis)
No, I love wearing sarees and Churidaars. Westerns are comfortable and practical in US, but when it comes to dressing up, nothing can beat an elegant saree or a sleekly cut laancha. For normal functions, I prefer wearing churidars. In India, I seldom wear westerns. There I have too many choices.
I love the Bengal cottons and Dhakka Jamdaanis.
Me tooooo.........
Love and Best wishes,
Akshata
