Chapter 5:He came out of his thoughts when he heard a knock at the door. He turned towards the door and replied "come in" to that person.
Lisa was standing there. She came inside, one look at her and anyone could tell that she was nervous or rather afraid. She looked here and there then closing her eyes said so fast that no one could make out what she said "Sir caseaya haiaapko conferenceroommein bulayahai aappleasejaiye." But thanks to her lucky stars Arjun understood.
He looked at her for a while and then nodded. After which she left.
He tried to calm himself.He knew why Lisa came, and not anyone else. Actually with Lisa he had the least encounters in past so she was the one who had given him comparatively lesser number of wounds than others. He took a deep breath and went towards the conference room.
But in the way his phone buzzed he took it out to see a message. By then he had reached the door of the conference room.
He opened the door and went inside. All the others got up and turned towards him but he was oblivious to all this lost in his phone.
Riya entered into the hall from the other door. She was carrying a pile of files. The pile was so big and heavy that she was struggling to carry it. She was also not able to see what or who was in front.
They entered in the conference room and were going towards their destination when the others expected what was going to happen. Before they could stop the obvious it happened Riya and Arjun collided with full force.
Due to the collision the files dropped from her hands and the loose papers flew all around the room. The force of collision was so much that Riya stumbled on Arjun and he lost his balance and fell down on the ground with Riya on top of him.
Then their eyes met and they were lost in each other. For anyone else it would have been a romantic moment but Ariya is not normal. Forgetting all the past problems the boys had a genuine smile on their faces and the girls were just about to voice out their "aww" when the most unexpected thing happened.
Arjun suddenly blurted out "Great! Pehle tum khud girti thi ab sab kuch leke girti ho." And then it began.
"Aapko Kya lagta hai mein jaan bujhke giri?" "Nahi nahi maine jaan bujhke tumhe dhakka diya." "Phone aap use kar rahe the dekha Kya hua. Issiliye kehte hai don't use phone while walking." "Don't use phone while driving hota hai chalte chalte use karsakte hai."
"Toh dekha na ho gaya accident. 86% cases mein log phone use karte karte takkar marte hai aur phir apni galti qubool karne se katrate hai." " Itni saari files leke kyu chal rahi thi? Mujhe nahi to kaisi aur se ya to chair ya phir door se hi takrati aur phir bolti galti tumhari hai Samjhi ya Samjhau. Ab utho mere upar se."
"Nahi uthungi aap ki saza yahi hai, pahle toh chori upar se seena jori, huh."
"Riya, 97% cases mein floor ganda hota hai. Usme bacteria aur germs hote hai. Toh it's very unhygienic aur abhi hum wahi lete hai." "Don't worry Arjun mein safe hu. Main toh aapke upar hu. Aur aap gande nahi ho Samjhe ya Samjhau."
Now from the background Shree piped in " Chotu yeh log ek dusre ke dialogue kyu bol rahe hai?" Chotu just shrugged his shoulders in response. Others were quite amused to see their colleagues well now seniors to fight like kids. Forgetting all the past issues they were actually enjoying it.
After continuing for sometime they all heard Arjun say " Riya please utho dard ho raha hai." His changed tone was enough for others to realize that he was serious. Riya quickly got up and helped him to get up as well.
Riya mentally scolded herself for being so irresponsible and was worried for Arjun as he had started breathing heavily. Before she could ask him anything Sameer voiced out what the others wished to know "Arjun tum thik toh ho na? Dard ho raha hai Kya? Dawai hai tumhare paas ya doctor ke paas jana hai?" He asked in a worry filled voice.
Arjun was actually surprised hearing that tone from from him after long. It's true that Sameer had always been worried for him whenever he risked his life. But his voice never contained the concern which was present now.
Arjun glanced at him and then told Riya "Hey mein thik hu tum chinta mat karo. Mujhe chot nahi laga. Aur galti tumhari nahi meri hai mein hi phone mein ghuss gaya tha so Sorry." Riya just wished to hug Arjun but let go of that thought once she saw the surrounding.
Others especially Sameer felt bad when Arjun ignored him. He knew he deserved all of it but still there was little hope in his heart that Arjun would forgive him.
They collected the papers then Arjun and Riya sat on their chairs beside each other. All were looking at each other and them not knowing what to say and how to start.
Irritated by all these Arjun balled his fist and then with gritted teeth said " agar case nahi hai toh mein jau?"
That took everyone by surprise. Sameer composed himself and started explaing the details of the case and about their initial findings. Others also letting go of their worries for a while concentrated on the case. After that he waited waited for others to say.
Lisa gave her reports. Shree told about his findings. Ayesha and Chotu told about the victims and suspects whereabouts. Riya gave the background of the family. And Sakshi drew the most probable conclusion from the clues.
Throughout the discussion Arjun was silent. Unable control his urge Sameer asked "Arjun tum kuch Nahi kahoge?" He glanced at the clue board once and then nodded in negative. Sameer knew he had found something which The others had missed. But the problem was He wouldn't say anything.
This was what Sameer never expected. He expected Arjun to be angry to be furious he had all the rights. He also wished Arjun to literally knock some sense in his head but all he got was his silence. He could even take Arjun's bullets but his silence was unbearable. Taunts abuses outbursts anything would do but nothing came.
That was when Sameer realized Arjun was not angry But hurt.
