Chapter 4 :Arjun went to his cabin after Raghu Sir left. He sat on his chair and leaned his head on the head rest. Closing his eyes he tried to calm himself down. The morning events had already exhausted him. Unknowingly his right hand went up to his chest and lightly rubbed his wounds. While trying to relax his mind drifted to the day which was the root of the present scenario.
Past
Riya rejoined ETF as senior inspector and Arjun was also promoted to addjoint DCP after considering his past record in ETF.
After 4 months of Riya's rejoining the incident took place.
In these four months Riya and Arjun's bond had strengthened. They were now friends.
They used to have late night talks with a cup of coffee. Yes coffee Arjun never confessed but he loved the coffee Riya made. Sometimes they had a walk by the sea shore and even had dinner together which was rare though.
This started when one day Riya told him."Arjun Sir aap rathko so nahi pathe kiyuki aapne dil me bohat bathe kaid karke rakhi hai unhe batiye dekhna dil halka hojayega aur aapko chain ki neend bhi ayegi." To which Arjun replied mocking her or the fate she didn't know. "Mere bathe sunne keliye koi bacha hi nahi. Riya replied almost instantly " Main hu na main aap ki saari bathe sunungi without any complain".
Arjun looked at her, it was all he wanted someone to share his pains some one who would listen to him, he was really happy but then a thought came in his mind that was it right? When Arjun didn't reply Riya put her hand on his shoulder. And then Arjun knew what he had to do. He looked at her with many emotions And said " Toh taiyar rahna kal rathko,mere problems sunne keliye" saying so he left. Riya realizing what he said smiled to herself and she also went out .
At first Arjun used to hesitate and never did once Riya pressurise him. She used to listen to whatever he wished to say. Slowly Arjun became more comfortable with her And used to talk to her more freely And openly.
This didn't help Arjun to sleep at night but reduced a lot of burden from his heart.
In these 4 months ETF got it's new recruits Ayesha, Lisa,and Sakshi. All the 3 girls had become an integral part of ETF.
It was a normal day for ETF a case of drug smuggling came which led them to Rocky where after seeing the $ mark Arjun lost his patience and destroyed Rocky's house. Which resulted in another round of showdown between Rathore-Rawte that encounter with Rathore had shook Arjun to such an extent. that he lost all his control and broke down in front of everyone.
Same night Arjun was in his cabin clutching Roshni's file close to his heart trying to find some solace. At that time Riya came in . Seeing him in that condition gave her a lot of pain but she gathered courage and sat by his side and gaining his attension asked him" Subah ko Rocky ke ghar mein Kya hua tha?" Seeing him not replying she decided to drop that matter and give him some time.
When She was about to leave She heard Arjun speaking. He told her whatever happened and at last Rathore's accusations. After listening to him She herself felt angry on Rathore And wanted to give him some piece of her mind but restricted herself and focused on Arjun.
Arjun then showed her Roshni's file and said" Iss file ko hazar baar par chukha hu, pura file yaad hogaya hai mujhe par fir bhi koi surag koi clue nahi mil raha. Dusron ke cases solve karte waqt mere nazar mein sab kuch parta hai par apni Roshni ke case mein..." He broke down before he could even complete Riye hugged him and consoled him till he gained back his composure. She herself had tears seeing him but She controlled them.
A little later she broke the hug and wiped his tears then said"Aap zarur Sikander ko dhund ke use uski saza denge. Aur rahi bath sabut ki toh woh aap isiliye dhund nahi pa rahe kyuki aap ye case dil se dekh rahe hai aur yaad hai aaphine kaha tha ki dil sach nahi sirf jisse pyaar karta hai usse dikhata hai. Sach janna hai toh dimag chahiye. Aapko sabut nahi sirf Roshni ka dard nazar aa raha hai. Ek baar thande dimag se Roshni ke pati ke bajay addjoint DCP Arjun Rawte banke sochiye kuch na kuch zarur milega."
He looked at her with new hope and again read the file and yes he did find something unusual which he had missed earlier. After a while he spoke up" Riya meine Roshni ke security ke liye kuch logo ko rakhwaya tha teen log toh ussi din maare gaye par choutha teen hafte baad car accident mein mara gaya wohi prime witness tha mere alawa. Aur mein victim hu uss wajah se mera statement proof ke taur par nahi liya jayega aur issiliye kisine Sikander ke hone par yakin nahi kiya kyuki sirf maine hi gawahi di thi."
Riya after thinking for sometime replied" Toh aapka kya manna hai usse jaan bujhke maara gaya. Par aapne toh kaha tha ki Roshni ke security ke baareme kisiko patha nahi tha. Koi tha kya jisko aapne bataya tha?
Arjun tried to remember then after a while he said" Sirf Commisioner Sir, Raghu Sir aur Sam". The word Sam opened the fresh wounds seeing thatRiya said " Mujhe pata hai aapko Rathore Sir aur Raghu Sir pe khud se zyada bharosa karte hai par commisioner Sir?"
Arjun was a bit confused now " Tum kehna kya chahti ho Riya? Meine yeh case commisioner Sir ke kehne par liya tha aur ussi wajah se Roshni ke security ke liye bhi unse bath bhi ki par... ." Arjun stopped in between realizing what Riya said and glanced at her shock evident on his face.
Riya was equally disturbed by the sudden turn of events and said" Aap hi sochiye unhone aap jaise officer ko ETF join karne keliye almost force kiya akhir kyu jabki unhe aapko suspention letter dena chahiye? " When he frowned at her statement. Riya smiled sheepishly and said "I mean aapko to har jagah se transfers mil rahe the. And don't give me that look I know aapko pata hai main kya keh rahi hu. Hona ho directly or indirectly he's definitely involved in all these. "
Arjun absorbing the new revealations nodded in agreement.
After that Riya and Arjun formed a team and their bond was stronger than ever. Now Riya used to call him by his name. Although much to Arjun's reluctance he inclued Riya but took a promise that if there is any danger she would back off.
They reached Nadim Khan with the team but he was also killed Arjun was also targeted but the bullet was never fired.
Then Arjun called commisioner and tried to get some information from him but he felt something wrong during the whole conversation.
Cohelo was not ready to give him access to the intelligence report though he was the one who promised to give him every single bit of information about Sikander.
After that he got information that Sameer had access to the cofidential reports so he decided to steel the hard disk from the Record room.
When he told Riya about the plan she was hysteric she tried to stop him but when he didn't agree she also gave in.
She questioned him" Aap ko patha bhi hai aap kya kar rahe hai? 100 percent cases mein isse chori kehte hai? Agar kisiko patha chal gaya toh hum gaye kaam se. Aur aap itna relax kyu ho cctv footage kisine dekhliya toh hume dissmisal letter mil jayega!!"
Arjun couldn't help but laughed at her anxiety which made her more angry "Riya issiliye kaha tha mere sath mat aao par tumhe to ana tha ab bhukto! Aur rahi bath cctv ki toh mere baba mujhse bhi zyada ziddi the tumhe kya laga unhone mujhe IPS keliye prepare karwaya, nahi unhone mujhse engineering karwayi woh bhi computer engineering toh hacking wakhing jaise chote mote kaam mujhe aate hai".
Surprise would be an understatement Riya was astonished by the new revealation so she just nodded and followed him. They got the hardisk copied the information and kept it at it's place.
Everthing was going correctly but they did miss one thing Arjun's phone call to the Commisioner had aroused the evil from the dark who was slowly stepping towards them.
His thoughts were broken when there was a knock at the door.
