Prologue
It was 12:03. What is she still doing here? He checked his watch and looked back up at the girl typing away furiously on her keyboard.
"Sakshi?"
"Hmmm." She didnt look up from her screen.
Strange. Usually she looks for every opportunity to talk..aur ab? Infact, shes seemed a little...off, for the past few days.
"Itni der taak, yaaha pe akele rahna, safe nahi hain."
She spun around and said. "Baas 5 minuets more arjun. Phir mein ghar ke liye nikal rahi hun."
He nodded and turned around when he thought of something.
"Mein tumhe drop kar detha hun. Bohot raath ho chuki hai"
She hesitated. "Nahin arjun. Ill be fine."
"Miss sakshi anand. It wasnt a question. Time maat waste karo meri."
"Hmmm."
A small frown crept on his face. There it is again.. Hmmm? Kya, ho kya rahe usse? He sat down opposing her and rolled his eyes when she looked at him questioningly.
"Hurry up."
"Hmmm."
"What is this hmmm? Sakshi...ghar kyu nahin jana chati ho?"
"K..kya matlab? Mujhe to kaam baacha hain...tumhe pata hain na...humesha gossip karti hun pura din.." She chuckled softly, "raat hi hain, jab office pura khali..iss liye mein yahe hun...not because mujhe ghar nahi jana hain."
Again. Very strange. Now a days she doesnt talk that much and focuses well, phir kya kaam? Aur itne defensive kyu ho rahi hain.
He shook his head. Lagtha hain mein bhool raha hun ki ye sakshi hain...she was confusing from day one.
"Chalo. Ho gaya."
He nodded and stood up, not waiting for her as he walked outside and towards his car. (Is it just me who finds his walk so cool and attractive xD). Arjun sat down in the drivers seat and waited patiently for sakshi, who arrived 2 minuets later. As soon as he saw her seatbelt was secure, arjun drove off.
"Just because you stayed in late, doesnt mean you come in late, samjhe?"
She nodded silently and looked out the window.
He frowned. No sassy remark? She just accepted it?!
Again he shook it off. She might be having a bad day. Wonder what happened...but thats not my business, its her personal life.
"Yaha se left."
He nodded, turned and stopped, reaching her house.
"Thankyou arjun, ill see you tommorow." And after saying that she stepped out the car.
"Sakshi."
Sakshi turned.
"Goodnight nahi bolo gi kya?"
She smiled, wished him a goodnight and closed the door.
"Ruko. Ghar ki lights on kyu hain?"
"V..vo...siddharth.."
He looked at the house and back at her. According to him, she has no reletives..phir ye siddharth kohn?
"Mera ek dost hain." She replied, as if she could read his brain. "Hes in Mumbai for a couple weeks."
Arjun nodded and reversed his car, ready to go home.
