The famous SUV pulled up outside ETF headquarters, parking in the same place it always does and arjun stepped out, ready for his day. Looking at him, you wouldn't realise he hardly slept last night thinking about his colleagues weird behaviour. At the end he had just shrugged it of thinking that its not his business and he doesn't really care. If she needs help she will tell someone. "but will she?" he asked himself. No. hes not starting this again. Right now, the only thing on his mind should be work. Nothing else. He checked his watch. 6:57. I have an hour before work starts. I can finish some files from yesterday and maybe order some cutting chai.

But when he reached his desk, his cutting chai was already there. Arjun looked around, confused. "itni jaldi, mere liya chai kon laa sakta hai..?" he took a slip and looked confusingly at the cup. "ye toh..." he started. Arjun got up and walked out of his cabin and down the steps to where all the computers are kept. And just as he thought, the same colleague who he was worried about last night was sitting there, infront of her laptop. But she wasn't typing. She wasn't smiling, which indicated she wasn't watching a video. And she wasn't sipping her coffee. Infact her head was lying down on the desk, her eyes closed but not sleeping, trying to get some rest.

That's odd, why is she here so early? "sakshi..?"

She jolted up and looked around before she replied, "ha voh kya hai na...ki..um..tumne kal raath ko bola tha ki kaal raath ko der se ghar ponche to iska matlab ye nahi ki kal der se aana...to isliye, I came early..."

"but its obvious your tired. Go home get some rest, mei nahi chaata ki tum case ke time pe, soh jao."

"its fine arjun. Im not tired anymore" she smiled weakly and got up to go to the washroom. Arjun was finding her behaviour very weird. Voh sakshi, jo har din late ponchthi hai, that sakshi is here early?

"sakshi." Arjun stopped her. "chai ke liye thanks." But he didn't get a reply. Not a thankyou nor a welcome not even a smile. He got a nod. Something is definitely up. I should ask her about it later. But first lets finish the files.

8:00. That was when people started to show up. that was also when a certain ACP got a knock on his cabin door. l

"arjun...vo...im realy sorry...but I don't feel so well, I think I need to go home." She said nervously "I know you offered earlier but mujhe tab nahi paata tha.."

"sakshi. Humara kaam hai ki hum desh ka dhyaan de. Aur tum?! Ek point banana kiliye ye kiya hai na? how careless... go. Go home, and don't come back till you know your feeling better."

"hmmm. Sorry.."

She exited arjuns office and breathed a sigh of relief.

"too much stress yaar..."

"kya hua?" her best friend said sitting down infront of her. "are you okay?"

"nahi aayesha..i don't feel so good. Arjun ne mujhe ghar jaane kiliye permission diya hai..."

"oi, humko yaha pe chorke, tu ghar pe aaram kari gi kya?" shree joked.

"shut up shree. Go sakshi you look very tired." Ayesha told her. Sakshi didn't wait twice. She nodded, waved them all goodbye and left. Leaving a very confused shree behind. She usually jokes around with him..its their thing..so what just happened?

Arjun wasn't, however, confused that much anymore. She probably hasn't been feeling well recently that's whats been going on. Glad that it wont happen again though. He sat their twirling his pen while all these thoughts swirled around in his head. He didn't even realise when aayesha had come in to call him to the conference room and informed him about the new case.

"ha..chalo."

They both walked over to the conference room together, in silence. That is until...

"sir? Don't u feel like sakshi has been acting a bit strange and different now a days?"

He slowed down a bit, but replied with confidence. "she isn't feeling well. Shayad wahi ho."

"maybe..ho skata hai."

The case is about a missing girl. Age 14, goes to high school and one day, she vanishes. No note no nothing explaining the reason. They only found her glasses laying on the bench of the school ground. Arjun ducked under the yellow police tape and slipped on his gloves. He could hear chotu in the background.

"aakri baar kaab dekha tha aap ne?"

Arjun spun around and walked over to them. "ji, vo kaal yahi pet hi...phir uske baad ek call aya tha, for money..lekin.."

"lekin?" arjun snapped "ek baache kiliye nahi de pay?"

"nahi sir! School pe call ayya tha...then we give the call to their parents...but they didn't want to give.."

Arjun nodded and asked chotu to note down their statements before dismissing them.

"sir?" Ayesha called. he walked over to her. "ye bench ke neeche tha.." it was a half eaten cookie. Shree, looking from a distance shook his head. Aare Ayesha shayad bhool gayi hai, we are in a elementary school. Kids often eat cookies in their break and lunch.

Arjun looked up. "ye kya hai?" he asked the principal. "according to the rules, no sweets or biscuits allowed in the playground. Phir ye?"

"haan, the kids are very naughty. Im sure one of them just sneaked it in and had it for a snack." He replied shrugging his shoulders indignantly.

Arjun raised his eyebrows. But didn't say anything. Instead he looked around and asked him what the school timings are. After knowing that it started at half 8 and ended at 3 he stood up and indicated his team to make their way back to the SUV. They all sat in and put on their seatbelts but the car didn't move.

"rawte...chalo." Sameer said

"ha rathod, baas ja rahe hai hum. Shree, find out akritis parents address." (akriti is the kid who went missing)

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

ETF stood outside the house of the child who has been kidnapped. And not long after, a tall obnoxious looking woman, whos brown hair was wrapped around in hair curlers, whos husband was not in sight, and who was wearing a long silk nightgown opened the door. Strange. Looking at her, you wouldn't think that she is worried about her only daughter has been kidnapped.

"khon?" she asked

"ETF."

She looked confused after he said that. "kya hua?"

"kya hua?! Jab principle saab ne aapko call kare aur bola ki appki beti gayab hai or ek ransome ka call aaya hai, aap poochre ho ki kya hua?!?! Kaamal hain."

The woman looked shocked and called them all inside and sat them down. "mujhe laaga ki who Mazak kar raha tha...mujhe nahi paatha tha ki vo lardki sach mein.."

"VO lardki?" Ayesha cut her in between angriliy, "shes your daughter."

"no. she is NOT my daughter.ek number ki shetaa. Im not her mother. Im her step mother. Since I have come to this house she hasn't given me a moments piece. And on top of that she has complained to my husband about me?!?! Even he is getting annoyed at her now!"

"aur iske liya appne usko kidnap kar diya?" rathod asked

The woman stared at him and said; "I do not fight fire with fire mister ACP saab. I haven't done anything. Infact mein aaj pura din ghar pet hi. Ask my husband."

"where is he?"

"he just left to go to office. He wont be back before 9."

"aap humaare bina is sher ko chorke nahi jaa sakti. Thankyou"
