Anniversary Day,

ESS office,

Aryan was in his cabin, reading the files of the recent cases n signing them. A peon came to him with an envelope n a box. Aryan opened it n saw a printed note in it. The box contained a black partywear tuxedo.

"Aryan,

Reach The Tulip Grand Hotel tonight, 8:30 p.m. sharp. Don't call, just come.

Shaina."

He read the note n smiled.. thought.. Neha..baccha idea to aapka bahot accha he..likha hota to handwriting se pehchaan jata..isliye print kar diya..oh..but maine to phir bhi pehchaan liya.. koi baat nahi.. hum iss jagah pahuch to jayenge.. dekhte he surprize kise milta he."

Rawte Mansion,

Shaina was sitting in her room, reading a book, a servant came n gave her n envelope. She read the printed note inside.

"Shaina,

Come to the Tulip Grand Hotel at 8:30 p.m. wearing the saree that I gifted you today.I'll be waiting, don't be late.

Shaina kept back the note.. Yeh Aryan bhi na.. ek aur surprize?? she looked at the note again.. nah..ye to Neha ka surprize lag raha he.. kyuki Aryan ne bheja hota to wo apne handwriting me likhte..print karne ki kya zarurat thi?? hmm.. to ye meri pyari nanad ka surprize he.. chalo to phir.. get ready for the surprize!

8 p.m.

The Tulip Grand Hotel,

Neha,Arjun n Rahul are already present there checking the last moment preparations. Everything was set.

Neha - sari taiyaria to ho chuki he.. ab bas mehmaano ke aane ka intezaar he.. surprize ready ho gaya he na??

Rahul - baby..ab bas bhi karo..ye sawal tum pichle ek ghante me dus baar puchh chuki ho..

Neha - haan dada lekin..

Arjun - ab tum dono apni behes band karo.. mehmaan aane shuru ho gaye he.. let's go n receive them.

Arjun n Rahul received the guests, the ETF team, the ESS team, some family friends, n a few others.

Neha was busy in keeping watch on the arrival of Aryan n Shaina..they had to be there at 8:30 exactly n that too together, she was busy setting that in one corner. Karan came to meet her,

she was wearing this saree, her waist long hair left open, her back was turned at his side, so he hugged her from back,surprizing her. But to his surprize, she shivered when his hands brushed across her waist when he hugged her. She pushed him n turned around quickly, her hand raised to give a slap.

Neha - how dare you.. [she stopped on seeing Karan n composed her thudding heart] oh.. tum ho??

Karan [looked at her puzzled] - kya hua? tumne aise kyu react kiya??

Neha - sorry. mujhe laga koi aur he.. rats..agli baar aise piche se mat aana.. shukra manao ke mere haath me iss waqt kuch nahi tha.. nahi to pata nahi kya ho jata.

Karan - kya ho jata matlab??

Neha - simple, mere haath me agar knife ya gun hoti to you could have been hurt! so be careful next time! [her cell buzzed] excuse me for now.. tum bahar sab ke paas jao.. mujhe thoda kaam he..

Karan - ok.. [he left half-heartedly, knowing that there was no point arguing]

Neha answered the call..

caller - Shaina ma'm ghar se nikal gayi he.

Neha - ok..tum baccho ko lekar yahan aa jao.. dhyaan rahe ki bhabhi tum logo ko dekh na paye.

caller - ji ma'm.

Neha looked at her watch.. great timing! she exclaimed to herself n then called another person..

Neha - Bhau kahan tak pahuche??

person - sir bas nikal hi rahe he..

Neha - ok.

Neha came to the main hall..

Arjun - all set??

Neha - ji bhaiya.. every thing is set.. ab bas bhau aur bhabhi ke aane ka intezaar he..

after a few moments, she received 2 messages, she read them quickly.

Neha - bhaiya.. wo dono aa gaye..

Arjun signals the lightman to turn off the lights.. the hall is completely engulfed into darkness. An announcement is heard

Rahul - ladies n gentlemen..please be patient.. the guest of honour are about to arrive.. please maintain silence..thanks you.

As soon as the lights turned off, Arjun felt a tight tug on his right hand.. He felt Neha's restlessness even if he couldn't see her face..

Arjun - [whispered] aaj bhi andhere me darr lagta he??

Neha didn't answer but sighed, the grip was still strong.

Arjun was lost in the childhood memories..

~flashback~

Arjun was 12 n Neha was 6 at that time.. he was working on a project at night, Neha was sitting n watching him, helping him with colours at times. suddenly there was a power cut.. Neha held Arjun's arm tightly..

Arjun - baby.. daro mat.. me abhi candle jalata hu..

Neha - nahi.. bhaiya.. aap yahi baithiye..mujhe andhere me bahot darr lagta he..

Arjun - baby, me hu na yahan.. phir kyu darti ho?? me bas aadhe minute me candle lekar aata hu.. phir andhera nahi rahega aur tumhara darr bhi!

Neha - nahi bhaiya..aap kahin mat jaiye.. mujhe bahot darr lag raha he.. (she was on the verge of crying)

Arjun - meri baby to super-girl he na.. to wo nahi royegi.. hmm??

(The lights started again due to the inverter.. which automatically starts within 5 minutes of power-cut.)

Arjun - (the hold loosened a bit) baby..ab to light bhi aa gayi.. to darna nahi.. samjhi??

Neha - ji bhaiya! (nods slightly)

(Arjun pulled her chubby cheeks to which she returned an angry glare n pouted cutely.)

Neha - bhaiya!! kitni baar kaha he aapse mere gaal mat kheenchiye.. lekin aap to samajhte hi nahi!! (Arjun laughed heartily at her reply.)

~flashback~

A soft smile crept on his lips as he remembered her cute antics. He wondered that this girl who fears not even the death is still afraid of the darkness. Why??

8:27 p.m.

Aryan n Shaina reached the parking lot of the hotel at almost same time. Aryan was looking a handsome hunk in his black tuxedo.

Shaina was wearing a black n red saree, n a delicate necklace.

Aryan - so ready for the surprize madam??

Shaina - absolutely!!

Aryan forwaded his hand n she held it, both of them walked inside the hotel together..

When the reached inside, it was complete darkness.. they wondered if they had came to the right place or not.. they walked to almost middle of the hall n stopped there. The lights glowed slowly cascading the soft white n red coloured decorations in the hall, n from the above there was a rain of white n red rose petals.. the heart-shaped balloons falling down.. the ambience was lovely!

Aryan - oh..so this was the surprize! Shai.. kahi iske saame hamara surprize feeka na pad jaaye!

Shaina - nahi padega.. aap bas thoda itminan rakhiye!

Soon there was a little commotion outside.. there were two men trying to get inside, first man was a slim, fair-looking man of almost 30 years of age, his hair were gelled n golden highlights shone on them brightly. Second person was having a well built muscular body, a little older than the first man, wearing a long over-coat, holding a pen into his mouth like a cigar.

Rahul - [to two men] koun he aap dono aur kisse milna he aapko??

Man1 - dekhiye Mister, hume hamara kaam karne dijiye..

They both came in pushing Rahul little out of way.

Man1 - You are under arrest ACP Aryan.

Man1 - wo jo bhi ho..kya farq padta he.. hame to bas ise arrest karna he!

Arni went towards them, she said to both the intruders.

Arni - Aise kaise mere bade papa ko arrest karenge aap??

Aryan (kid) - pehle ye bataiye ki aap he koun aur arrest warrant bhi dikhaiye. [he demanded]

Man1 - oye baccho.. hamare raste se hato aur hume hamara kaam karne do..

Arni - nahi.. pehle warrant dikhaiye.

Man2 - lekin tum dono ho koun??

Aryan (kid) - ye sawal to maine pehle pucha..to aap bataiye ki aap koun he??

Man1 - main?? Main Maamu form Special Squad

Man2 - aur main Chachu from Special Squad

Arni - Maamu??Chachu.. lekin kiske??

Aryan - Ajay, Boxer.. ab apna drama band bhi karo.. aur kitna pareshan karoge baccho ko??

Ajay - drama nahi kar rahe.. tumhe sach me arrest karne aaye he..

Aryan - accha to phir warrant dikhao!

Boxer - warrant abhi raste me he.. aa raha he..

Arni - kaise?? gaadi me ya chal kar??

Ajay - [picking up Arni in his arms] aap ko kisi ne bataya nahi ki aap bahot bolti he!

Arni - wo mujhe pata he.. ab aap mujhe jaldi se niche utariye nahi to me chillaungi!

Ajay - accha thik he meri maa.. rakhta hu tumhe niche..

Ajay puts Arni down.

Aryan - ab to batao ki tum dono kya kar rahe ho!

Ajay - kaha na tumhe arrest karna he!

Aryan - lekin kyu?? maine kya kiya he??

Ajay - kya kiya he?? tumne jo nahi kiya uske liye tumhe saza milegi!

[both say this revolving around him in a circle]

Boxer - tumhari pehli galti.. pichle 5 saal me ek baar bhi phone nahi kiya!

Ajay - dusri galti.. tum zinda ho iss baat ki khabar tak hume nahi di..

Boxer - teesri galti.. Chandigarh tak aye lekin Delhi nahi aaye hume milne!

Aryan - look guys..I can explain.. [cutting him in mid, Boxer spoke]

Boxer - itni bhi kya jaldi he explaination dene ki.. ye to sirf shuruaat he.. list to bahot lambi he..

Shaina - guys please stop it for now.. Yahan party chal rahi he.. tum dono aise sab ka mood spoil nahi kar sakte..

Ajay - mood to tumne kharab kar diya Shai..

"Tumhe kya lagta he, surprize sirf tum de sakti ho? hum nahi??" A voice said. A man with bald head was standing there.

Aryan - Shotgun!!

Shotgun - Well arrest warrant me hi laane wala tha, lekin phir maine plan change kar diya. Socha kyun na iss baar tumhari galti ke liye tumhe maaf kar diya jaay!

Aryan looked at him doubtfully..

Shotgun - me sach keh raha hu.. actually upar se orders nahi mile to tum iss baar bach gaye!

Aryan was totally confused.. What exactly do they mean??

there was a complete silence for a few seconds when Ajay n Boxer burst into laughter looking at Aryan's face that was looking like a lost kid..

Ajay n Boxer engulfed Aryan into a tight bear-hug which lasted a little longer.

Aryan - guys ab bas bhi karo.. saans to lene do mujhe!! [parting from the hug] to ye tum logo ka prank tha.. huh??

Ajay - nahi Aryan.. aisa dimaag hamare paas kahan?? ye hamara idea nahi tha.

Boxer - haan lekin hume ye acting karne me bahot maza aaya.. aur tumhe sach me ek surprize mila..

Ajay - meri acting skills ke baare me to tumhe pata hi he.. so you know!!

Aryan - waise bataya kyu nahi ki yahan aa rahe ho??

Shotgun - Surprize jaisi bhi koi cheez hoti he na Aryan!! sorry thoda late ho gaya..Mumbai ki traffic..

Shaina - Ajay! Neha kahan he?? use saath nahi laaye??

Ajay - use to aana tha lekin doctor ne iss halat me travelling karne se mana kiya he to nahi laaya. Usse chhodo.. you know you're looking really gorgeus today! [he winked at Shaina]

Shotgun - Ajay.. kuch to sharam karo.. do baccho ke baap ho aur abhi bhi flirting??

Boxer - rehne do Shotgun.. ye buddha ho jayega na phir bhi flirt karna nahi chhodega!

All laughed. There was a happy reuninon after more than 5 long years! The others too congratulated them.

After a little while.

Neha - [on mic] Hello everyone!! I wish a very very very very very very happy Anniversary to my dear Bhau n Bhabhi! I heartily welcome all of you to this party. Thank you everyone for sparing your valuable time to come n join us here.

Well as our first two surprizes are complete, now it's time for the third one. This one is by Neha n me. By Neha I mean Neha Nair ohh.. Mrs. Desai actually! Well now enough of my chats, over to the projector screen.

(Surprize #1 - the party, #2 - the old SS team's reunion, #3 - the video)

The lights were dimmed n a video was started on the projector.

The screen showed Aryan n Shaina's marriage pics. Some other clips of their SS office, the team n some other memories of chats, parties n other functions.

When all eyes were on the projector screen, Neha came to Karan n took him towards the gallery.

Karan - kya kar rahi ho Neha? mujhe yahan kyu lekar aayi?? [seemed irritated]

Neha - baat karni thi tumse..isliye.. [she replied calmly]

Karan - kya baat karni he??

Neha - [held his face in her palms] naaraz ho mujhse?? I know.. meri galati he.. par me busy thi.. I'm so..

Karan - [jerked her hands away] busy?? Madam, no one is completely busy, it's just the matter of priorities. Do you remember when we talked last?? It's been more than a week!

Neha - madam?? why are you being so formal rats?? n last week?? I was so busy.. you know that!

Karan - busy.. yeah.. planning this stupid surprize of yours!! You know what.. this is a purely childish plan.. a totally cliched idea for a surprize!!

Neha - rats tum.. [she tried but couldn't find words.. she had been planning this surprize since last four days, she hadn't even slept properly as she didn't get time in the day, she had to work at night on this plan. n now Karan said it was stupid.. she was hurt a lot. She was lost in her thoughts, not listening to him.]

Karan - talking about being busy.. are you busy 24*7?? in a day, 24 hours, you don't even get 5-10 minutes to talk to me?? Do I say that you have to talk for hours with me?? Just give me 10 minutes of your time.. that would be more than enough.. but you don't even reply to my messages.

Buzzing of her cell brought her back to reality. She immediately picked the phone after looking at the caller ID.

Arjun - baby.. kahan ho tum?? It's time for the next surprize. jaldi aao.

Neha - ji.

She disconnected the call n left without giving other glance to Karan.

Arjun - (on mic) hope you all enjoyed the video.. so now here comes our next surprize..

Two waiters bring in a large decorated board n keep it in front of Aryan-Shaina. There were photos of the family members n small envelop like structure was made, inside them were messages n wishes. Aryan n Shaina one by one opened the envelops n read the messages. When Aryan opened Neha's envelop, there came out a small chit, Yahan nahi..kahin aur he..dhundh lijiye.'

he frowned for a second, then looked on the board carefully, he found a large paper roll at the bottom. He opened it n saw a beautiful portrait of his with Shaina n Sunny, but there was some empty space at a side too. As he traced his finger on the empty space, another chit revealed, Ab ye jagah khali kyu he ye bhi main hi batau?? Aisi cheeze samjhayi nahi jaati..khud samajhni padti he.' He read it in mind n looked away embarassed, while Shaina's cheeks turned into deep shades of red. Rahul cleared his throat to gain back their attention.

Rahul - aap to itne me hi kho gaye.. abhi to aur bhi surprizes baaki he..

Shaina - aur surprizes?? aise kitne he??

Neha - aaj aapki sixth anniversary he to 6 surprizes to bante he.. I hope ki hamare pehle chaar surprizes aapko pasand aaye ho!

Shaina - aisa kabhi ho sakta he ki Neha kisi ko surprize de aur use pasand na aaye?? hmm??

Aryan - waise mujhe ye surprize pasand nahi aaya.. [Neha's face lost all colors] Sonu.. kya hua?? meine abhi apni baat khatam nahi ki.. This is one of the best surprizes that I've ever received. Waise mujhe koi idea nahi tha ki tum itna bada sa surprize plan kar rahi ho..

Rahul - ek minit bhau.. ye surprize isne akele thodi plan kiya.. maine aur bhai ne bhi to help ki thi.. saara credit ise akele kyu mile?

Aryan - haan lekin idea to Neha ka hi tha..to credit aur credit card dono hi Neha ke huye na!

Arjun - bhau.. aapko kaise pata ki ye idea Neha ka he??

Aryan - itna to main tum dono ko jaanta hi hu.. aise ideas tumhare dimag me to aane se rahe..

Neha was smiling now..

Shaina - Neha.. abhi se shopping list banane lagi kya??

Neha - nahi bhabhi..aisi koi baat nahi he.. maine ye credit ke liye nahi kiya.. main to sirf aap dono ki khushiyo ko badhana chahti thi.. n I'm really happy ki mera ye surprize aapko itna accha laga!

Aryan - haan.. mujhe yeh portrait bahot accha laga.. main ise kal hi frame karwa dunga.

Rahul - now it's time for the next surprize. [he goes to the dias n speaks on the mic] Music is life n life is music.. so here comes a small piece of music from Arjun bhai n me!

Unknown to them, two eyes were constantly following them. Karan was getting restless..

Meanwhile, Neha had finished drinking more than one bottle of whisky.. She was still wandering in her memory lane.. when a voice calls her.. she turns n sees him.. as the lights were dim, she couldn't see his face clearly.. "Vivaan" she murmurs to herself.. "Kyun? kyun aaye ho tum?? kyu aaye wapas?? Akela kyun nahi chhod dete mujhe? Chale jao.. please leave me alone.." She said in unsteady voice..He didn't move, but tried to stop her.. "Driver.. gaadi nikalo.." She said to the driver.. he brought the car.. "Ghar chalo" she ordered n the car zoomed off.

He stood there looking at her retreating form.. When Arni came to him,

Arni - Mama.. aap yahan kya kar rahe he?? chaliye.. badi maa aapko bula rahi he..

They both go to the place where Aryan,Shaina, Arjun, Rahul, Sunny n Aryan, Sameer, Kajal are sitting, rest were having dinner..

Shaina - sabse pehle to me aap sab ko thanks kahungi.. iss pyaare se surprize ke liye!

Aryan - ek minute.. tum sab galat topic par behes kar rahe ho.. Sameer, pehle jisse shaadi karni he use to pucho, wo taiyaar he ya nahi!

Sameer - Mujhe tumse kaafi waqt se ek baat kehni he.. par keh nahi paa raha tha.. lekin ab kehna hi padega.. mere paas koi option nahi he..

Aisha - Sir aap..

Sameer - Aisha.. pehle mujhe meri baat khatam karne do.. tumhe pata he ki mujhe ghuma-phira ke baat karna pasand nahi.. to me seedhe point par aata hu.. Kya tum mujhse shaadi karogi?? [he said the last words in one breathe..shocking everyone!]

Aisha was still under shock.. Kajal kept her hand on her shoulder to get her back..

Aisha gulped..trying to digest what she heard right now.. then slightly nodded her head in affirmation.

Arjun took all three kids n went home, they had their dinner when others were dancing!
