Next Day,

ESS head-quarters,

Conference room

All except Neha were present there.There was unusual silence in the room. 5 minutes passed in silence. There was no sight of Neha. After 5 more minutes, Neha arrived.

Aryan - You're late.

Neha - by 10 minutes. sorry..traffic me fass gayi thi isliye..

Aryan - koi naya bahana nahi mila??[shook his head in disbelief] ok.. let's get to work..we've a new case. A.. [he stopped as a song played loudly]

Char bottle Vodka

kaam mera roz ka..

Na mujhko koi roke

na kisine roka..

Aryan glared at Neha..it was her cell that was ringing loudly in the conference room. She forgot to put her cell in silence mode!

Aryan - what is this early in the morning?? Hope you remember that the party time is over now..get back to work! [clearly annoyed n angry]

Neha immediately looked at the cell n picked up, ignoring Aryan's glare. She went near the window n talked..

Neha - bolo MD..itni subah kaise call kiya?

MD - wo shaam ko mere ghar aana he.. yaad he na?

Neha - [not remembering] kyu? aaj kya he?? [she looked at the digital watch on the wall n suddenly remembered something] oh.. I'm really sorry..pata nahi kaise bhul gayi.. waise shaam ko kitne baje pooja he?

MD - 5 baje.. tum aaogi na?

Neha - haan.. aa jaungi.. thanks for reminding.. aur haan.. don't drink, smoke n don't cry..ok??

MD - me in teeno me se kuch bhi nahi karta!

Neha - rehne do.. sab pata he mujhe.. ab jo kaha wo karo.. aur kuch bhi zarurat ho to mujhe call kar dena..ok?

MD - ok.. see you later!

Neha - hmm.. [call disconnected..she smacked her head] itni imortant baat kiase bhul gayi tu Neha?? [she came back n sat on her place]

Aryan - aapki chatting khatam ho gayi ho to ab kaam ki baat karein? [Neha looked away n he continued discussing the case]

Soon they were busy with the new high-profiled case.

Evening..

4:25 p.m.

Neha's cell buzzed with a reminder. They were still busy with the case. Aryan had gone to meet Commissioner.

Neha - [thinking] mera jaana bhi zaroori he aur ye case bhi.. but do ghanto me waise bhi case solve hoga nahi.. abhi tak to sari details bhi baki he.. me jaldi se jaakar wapis aa jaungi. Bhau ko message kar dungi.

As she walked out of Conference room, she met Rehan.

Rehan - kahan jaa rahi ho Neha?

Neha - wo me ek zaruri kaam se bahar jaa rahi hu.. do ghanto me wapas aa jaungi. [saying so,she left]

Neha first went to Anjali's place, as that was the nearest distance. Then both of them changed into plain white simple salwar-kameez n odhni n went to Maulik's house for the pooja'. It was Maulik's Mom's death anniversary today. So, they had gathered for the pooja'.

At 6 p.m.

The pooja was over now. They were feeding the children. Neha got a call from Aryan.

Neha - [before she could speak]

Aryan - kahan ho tum?? yahan itna important case he aur tum gayab ho? jaldi se office aao.

Neha - me bas aadhe ghante me aati hu.

Aryan - nahi.. 10 minit me tum mujhe office me milo.. sirf 10 minit.. [he disconnects the call]

Neha - 10 minit?? yahan se office pahuchne me kam se kam 20 minit lagenge.. n morever I need to change.. to aadha ghanta.. ab me kya karu?? koi bat nahi.. aise hi seedhe Office chali jaati hu.

She met Maulik n hugged him..

Neha - accha MD me chalti hu.. ek bahot important kaam he.. so..

MD - it's fine.. thanks for coming.

Neha nods n left.

After driving like maniacs, she reached ESS office in 15 minutes.

Aryan was hell angry already. She went to his cabin n he blasted at her.

Aryan - what the hell is this Neha? how can you behave so irresponsibly! Do ghante se office me nahi ho..wo bhi kisiko bina bataye.. [she forgot to message him] ye kya tarika he? subah se dekh raha hu.. koi bhi kaam thik se nahi kar rahi.. maine tumhe case ke details ki report banane ke liye kaha tha? reports do..

Neha - wo.. reports.. [she said slowly]

Aryan - kahan he reports?

Neha - aadhi ban gayi he..

Aryan - le aao. baaki aadhi me khud complete kar lunga. [said sarcastically] aap jaiye..jaakar apne so called important kaam kijiye!

Neha - bhau.. aap..

Aryan - Neha.. ye ghar nahi he!

Neha - sorry Chief.. me abhi reports complete karti hu.. [she went to her cabin n started completing the reports]

Late at night they were able to solve the case. The team was returning back to ESS office after completing the formalities..

Manushi - Neha.. aaj tumne ye white dress kyu pehna he?? baat kya he?

Neha - kuch nahi maan wo Maulik ki Mom ki barsi ki pooja thi aaj, wahan gayi thi isliye ye pehna tha.. par case ki wajah se jaldi aayi to change karne ka time nahi mila.

Manushi - waise acchi lag rahi ho.

Neha - thanks..

Manushi - mera bhai tumhe aise dekhega to flat ho jayega!

Neha - wo to waise bhi mujhe pe pura flat he.. crazy boy!!

Later, when Aryan n Neha were coming back to Rawte Mansion..

Aryan - I'm sorry Sonu..

Neha - Bhau.. aap sorry kyu keh rahe he?

Aryan - mujhe tum par aise gussa nahi hona chahiye tha..

Neha - koi baat nahi bhau.. waise bhi aapne mujhe daant-kar accha kiya.. meri galti thi..aapko bataye bina chali gayi.. pata nahi kaise aapko batana bhul hi gayi..

Aryan - side-effect of Alcohol.. tell me why you need to drink??

Neha - aadat ho gayi he bhau.. it is an undivisible part of my life now..

Aryan - tumne mere sawal ka jawab nahi diya.. maine pucha tumhe drink karne ki zarurat hi kya he??

Neha - zaruri nahi ki har sawal ka koi jawab ho.. zindagi ke kuch sawal aise bhi hote he jinka koi jawab nahi hota..

Aryan - baato ko itna gol-gol mat ghumao sonu..seedhe-seedhe keh do ki tumhe batana nahi he..

Neha - ji.. bilkool sahi kaha aapne bhau.. nahi batana mujhe aapko.. aur please.. ye baat dobara mat puchna.. mera jawab har baar yahi rahega.. so why waste time??

Aryan - [wondered what he should answer] jaisi tumhari marzi.. par ek baat yaad rakhna. tum khud hi apni zindagi barbaad kar rahi ho..

Neha- mujhe aisa nahi lagta..

Aryan - tumhe lagne na lagne se sacchai to badal nahi jayegi na!

Neha - [smiles mockingly] sacchai.. haan.. wo to kabhi nahi badalegi..

Aryan looked at her.. he felt something was terribly wrong.. n she was definitely hiding something big.. what was that?? he wondered..

Next night..

Neha was trying to sleep.. her thoughts pondering over randomly.. when her eyes caught the calender.. he immediately got up with a jerk..

Neha - oh Fish.. chaar din baad Bhau ki aniversary he.. aur maine abhi tak koi planning nahi ki.. [hits her head] jaldi se planning shuru karti hu.. waise bhi neend nahi aa rahi..

She went to the study room n opened her laptop n notepad.. started making a to-do list.

Meanwhile, Arjun was returning after a walk when he saw the lights of the study on.. he went to check who was working this late.. he saw Neha typing on her laptop. He went in..

Arjun - baby.. itni raat ko yahan kya kar rahi ho??

Neha - char din baad bhau ki anniversary he.. to surprize ki preparations kar rahi thi..

Arjun - zara mujhe bhi dikhao.. me bhi tumhari help kar deta hu..

Neha - aap?? kyu??

Arjun - kyu matlab?? Bahu ke liye surprize kya sirf tum akeli plan kar sakti ho? me nahi??

Neha - nahi bhaiya..aisi koi baat nahi he.. you can help me.. ek se bhale do!

Rahul - Aur do se bhale teen! [Rahul was up to drink water when he saw the lights of study on.. he came to see who was there, when he heard Neha-Arjun talk]

Rahul - ye accha he.. akele akele planning ki ja rahi he.. surprize to bhau aur bhabhi ke liye he.. mujhe bhi nahi bataya.. not fair!!

Neha - aaiye.. aap hi ki kami thi dada..

Three of them sat planning about the surprize party.. After planning for about 2 hours..

Neha - wonderful!! so everything is planned.. ab sab kuch bilkool planning ke hisab se hi hona chahiye..aur haan.. iss surprize party ke baare me kisi ko bhi pata nahi hona chahiye.. it should be a top secret!

Arjun-Rahul - [together] Aye..aye..captain!!

Arjun - chalo..ab so jao.. bahot der ho gayi he.. kal se saari taiyariyan bhi to karni he!

Rahul - haan bhai.. don't worry..sab ho jayega! neend to waise mujhe bhi bahot aa rahi he.. good night!

Arjun - Good night!

Neha - Good night?? subah ke chaar baj rahe he.. good moring kahiye!!

Rahul - oh baby.. abhi mujhe sone do.. bahot neend aa rahi he.. good night.. [he went to his room]

Neha - Kumbhakarn!! pata nahi dada ko itni neend kaise aa jayi he!!

Arjun - baby.. ab so jao.. nahi to kal subah uth nahi paogi.. jao!

Neha - ok bhaiya!!

She packs her laptop n goes to her room..Arjun also moves to his room.. to get a little rest..

In Aryan's room..

Sometime ago, Aryan got up to drink water.. he was coming back when he heard the talk of Neha-Arjun-Rahul.. he got to know that they were planning some surprize for his anniversary. e silently moved from there n came back to his room..smiling!

Shaina asked him the reason of his wide smile in the middle of night..

Aryan - kuch nahi Shaina..wo bacche hamari anniversary ki planning kar rahe he.. kuch surprize plan kiya he unhone!

Shaina - oh ye baat he.. par ab to wo surprize nahi raha.. matlab hume pata cha gaya na..

Aryan - haan.. lekin ek baat ka dhyaan rahe Shai.. unhe ye nahi pata chalna chahiye ki hume unke surprize ke baare me pata he..

Shaina - aap fikar mat kijiye.. ye baat unhe nahi pata chalegi. [thinks something] waise kyu na hum bhi unhe ek surprize de!!

Aryan - wo kya??

Shaina - [tells her plan in his ear]

Aryan - great!! ab aayega maza.. jab surprize dene waalo ko khud hi ek bada sa surprize milega!!

Shaina - yes!

Three days later..

Evening..

There was no case in the ESS office today, so all were completing the pending paper works.. as it was finished, Aryan called the day off..

While coming back home, Aryan took Neha to a mall.

Neha - hum yahan kyu aaye he bhau??

Aryan - mujhe kch kaam he.. chalo mere saath..

They both went to a saree shop to buy a saree..

Aryan - Neha, Shai ke liye koi acchi si saree choose karo!

Neha - kyu bhau?? kuch special he kya??

Aryan - nahi.. bas aaj mann kiya ki Shai ke liye koi acchi si saree le jau.. come on..help me to choose..

Neha - ok..

She thought to choose a saree according to the colour code for tomorrow's party. After that they bought a matching necklace too!

Neha - bhau.. ye aaj achanak shopping kyu?? kuch he jo main bhul rahi hu??

Aryan - [knowing that she was fooling him] nahi.. nothing special.. waise bhi tum kabhi kuch nahi bhulti..right??

Neha - oh.. I guess yahi baat me bhul gayi thi!! [in mind - Bhau.. itni aasani se nahi pakad payenge aap]

Aryan - [In mind] mujhe bewakoof bana rahi ho.. koi baat nahi.. me bhi dekhta hu..kab tak..!!

They went back to Rawte Mansion.
