Whenever The Lips Met...
Part-16:
"Searching a place after dark is much easy, tell me why?"
"Um..."
"They won't know we are coming!"
"Hush the engine first, they can hear even in the dark!"
We were going to check a warehouse stealthily that was the first in our list.
Ayesha and Arjun were doing the same in another place.
Our problem was, even if they did not have her in their warehouses, they had to save the goods inside from invasion at any case. It was called duty, loyalty, sincerity...and some more 'ty's on that list.
Shh...someone is turning towards the trees in the dark.
We hid behind a tree fast.
"We could have come from the front," I whispered as leaned against the tree.
We peered out to know what was happening in the backyard.
Another one joined him.
The first one took something in his hand, ''A GUN!'
The other searched his pant pockets and then motioned the first one to see our direction and moved away fast as though he was going to get something suitable.
But before he could return, the first one moved toward our direction.
He seemed he knew where he was going, even in the dark.
We clang to each and felt the same thing, ''To handle one is much easier in the dark, with four hands!'
But the other thought that- if we attacked one, definitely everybody would know about it and the place's silence would be damaged- stopped us. It could be dangerous for the girl.
'OUR MISSION IS TO CHECK WHETHER THE GIRL IS THERE OR NOT!'
We stood cocked, the next moment.
The fellow reached the tree and said, "I know you are there!"
Our hearts came to throats at once.
I could see Chottu's sweating neck even it was dark. I was not sure if he saw mine.
The man took a step forward and we hugged each other in terror.
The man moved forward and we moved backward behind the tree.
As he moved, we revolved the tree silently in each other's hands.
Suddenly he stopped and leaned down.
Then we could not see anything for a moment.
Then suddenly a screeching sound made goose bumps all over us.
Then a light came to life.
I would have laughed aloud then and there, if not Chottu cupped his hands over my mouth tight and pinned me against the tree.
That fellow turned to go as we revolved the tree around now in opposite direction.
Once he went out of earshot, we noticed the slab under the tree, where they would sit and smoke in the evenings.
That buffalo [I could not find a more suitable word then for that fellow] had forgotten his match- box there and now he came to retrieve it.
Then our mission started seriously without further ado.
Except some goods there was nothing in that warehouse.
We left the place.
The goods could wait a little longer.

Part-17:
The night was dissolving slowly without incidents. The building was quiet and except two or three watchers outside there was none in view.
There were more watchers around hours before.
It seemed they were doing the job in shifts.
The body builder was not in the last shift.
There was the unavoidable disturbance in a lone place with lots of trees around.
The mosquitoes!
When you are doing an important job like this, you can't explain them not to bite or you can't punish them even when you have a gun in hand readily.
The building was more like a house than a warehouse.
There was a lone balcony in the dark at the back, which led to a closed door, probably locked inside.

At the dead center of the building there was a small room with a chair at the center.
The chair was not empty; the girl was seated, tied, alone, sad and terrified- on it.
She was thinking about her father now.
Not exactly her father, but about the 'unable to return debt', she was going to get from him if he paid the ransom money for her.
She had to repay him for years. The thought that she would not go to be a proprietor of anything in the future, crushed her like anything under an elephants legs.
If she got a chance she would deny it for sure. She decided. But how?

In the outside, we were crawling in the dark watching the building along with the now two watchers, briskly.
There were lots of members in that building, at present, including the MD, Mr. Rithish, who was supposed to be in Kolkata, who was sleeping peacefully in his room at the back.
As though not to disturb his sleep, Arjun suggested to siege the building sharply at 04:30 in the morning.
We waited and started planning the mission in the meanwhile.
"First, we've to find out the girl's position before we attack."
If we could do this before the boss woke up, then we would go straight to him to wake him up from his sleep.
~..
"Ayesha, you go first!"
"Sir!"
"Find the girl and reassure her."
"We'll barge in after two minutes."
"See, from the balcony you've to open the door, which might be locked from inside."
"Right."
"Take the master key, the door has a double- side locking pad!"
"Good."
"Exactly two minutes."
Once planned, we prepared ropes to lower her into the balcony from a nearby tree.
Arjun left us there and went to the commissioner's house.
He discussed with him about the next move and what he wanted to do if he got a phone call from the kidnapper in the meanwhile.
He gave him a sheet of paper which said, what he was to talk and how to react to his threats.

We were ready to move, when he returned back.
He approached us and nodded.
When Ayesha's legs touched the floor of the balcony we did not suspect that the mission would be upset tremendously in a matter of minutes.
She opened the door and entered in.
I started counting the seconds.
We were about to move toward the building when I felt a sudden tug in the rope.
'Something is wrong!'
We looked each other in confusion and started to pull the rope.
Once she came within earshot, I whispered, "What happened?"
She breathed hard as though she came running before she tugged the rope.
Chottu asked, "Where is she?"
She opened her mouth at last.
"She is-"
"Oh!!"

Part-18:
Our mission had changed then.
"What happened?"
Chottu and I asked in unison.
She started...
Once entered, she moved through the dark which was easy now to see through it, with cat's paw.
She crossed a room and stood before a row of rooms.
She saw a small room, just latched outside and slowly entered in.
Then she saw the girl on the chair.
The girl was terrified at first to see a figure in her room approaching her stealthily.
But once she saw that the figure leaned against her and whispered in her ears, "Police!"
She calmed down.
Ayesha removed the binds and took the girl's hand.
She thought to move the girl to a safe place inside the building, before the team entered.
They crossed a hall and moved toward the door way through which she entered.
When they reached it, they heard a foot step behind.
Ayesha seemed tense.
What if they found them before the team got a chance to attack first?'
She signaled the girl to go ahead and tug the rope, which was hanging ready in the balcony and she would be all right there.
She turned and moved toward the hall again.
Thus our mission had changed.
We got that what we wanted.
Our mission (Original) was 'TO SAVE THE GIRL!'
We did it! Well, actually we didn't, but the girl is with us, any way, now.
Our new mission was 'TO SAVE AYESHA!'
We thought she would come back herself in a minute or we could get some sleep and would come back in the morning. I descended the rope once again in the balcony for her to tug, but-
The building came to life right away.
Everywhere lights started illuminating.
'They caught her!'
Well, we had no choice but to act.
We armed ourselves and moved toward the building's hidings and Arjun took the girl to his car which was standing at a distance from the spot.
He asked her as they approached the car.
"Can you drive this?"
She nodded quietly.
"Good. Can you identify me?" she looked his face in the dark to recognize it.
He opened a picture in his mobile and said, "Right, this is me. Any face other than me or anything suspicious, just start the car and go away. Here, my mobile. Take it" , he opened the driver's door.
She hesitated.
"Come on. Call-100 if you have to- if we didn't come back in an hour."
He closed the door and told her to lock inside and to be ready to move.

It was 04:43 am, when we started the shooting.
Then slowly the participants started getting make- up on different parts of their body, with real blood.
We were getting the place in our hands.

05:30 am-
The commissioner took his phone, and dialed Arjun's number.
None answered.
He got tense and waited in terror for five minutes, as per instruction- before he started dialing again...
Part-19:
I moved slowly inside as Arjun and Chottu were attacking some poor guys.
I crossed the hall and found the small room where I saw a tied Ayesha on a chair.
The room was still dark.
She saw me coming and tried to say something with her tape pasted lips.
"Mm..."
I plunged in and was talking to her, "Just a moment."
I reached behind her and was busily untying the knots.
That was when it happened unfortunately.
Mosquito bite.
I shook my head as it attacked my left cheek.
It returned vigorously this time.
I slapped myself and my ear piece fell from my ear.
"Oh, God!"
I bent down and started searching it in the dark, as was thinking I could use some light energy here.
As I was groping for it, I heard more, "Mmm..mmm...", continuously from Ayesha.
I was about to answer her when I found something near the wall.
I picked it up and found it was my ear piece.
"Thank God!"
I set it in my ear and moved to the rope, but-
'Why?'
There was no rope, to my surprise, there was no Ayesha either!
~..
The boss, who came out of his door, reached the dark room in haste.
He approached the figure, who was seated on the chair and he untied her binds as she tried to resist him.
"Mmm...Mmm..."
Once put the gun on her forehead she stopped her talking (?!)
Then he moved her under gun point toward the front of the building where the fight was going on.
It was his last chance. He shot a bullet toward the ceiling.
Everybody turned toward him.
He smiled at the immediate response and showed them her position.
"Come on, leave them," he ordered.
His men fell to the ground from the monstrous hands of Arjun and Chottu.
"Put the gun down!"
Arjun measured the situation. The boss was still in his sleeping robe and got that he had to be in lurch this long. He inferred that once the man got the firing was stopped he came out of the room and got Ayesha on his way here.
He started talking to him at once, "Well, it's her duty! And she knows well that she may lose her life in missions like this."
The boss seemed, he did not wake up from his sleep, full. He blinked literally and uttered with some effort, "Duty?"
As though it was the only word he could get out from his mouth.
"That's right. She is one of us. And I'm not going to let you go away for her!"
He announced as the boss looked at Ayesha in shock.
I, who was standing behind the boss waited for the right moment.
Arjun continued, "So, surrender! That's the only way before you!", as he aimed the boss.
The boss pointed the gun at her head, even though he got the point well.
"Very well! If you choose the hard way!"
Arjun said and moved his aim from the boss to Ayesha.
I got my very important lesson then.
'When you meet a person with hands tied behind and lips pasted with a neat tape, you've to remove the tape, first!'
I went out of the room and moved toward the front of the house, where the boss was staging a show.

"Oh! Sir-" Ayesha cried in shock.
Ayesha started struggling as the boss hesitated a moment. She got his hand and moved the gun away from her.
I moved in and hit the butt of my gun on his head.
He triggered the gun and a second bullet too went to the ceiling.
Ayesha got his gun as he turned toward me in slow motion, before slumped to the ground.

Part-20:
Once got the situation under control, suddenly Arjun was acting strangely.
He was poking along, to our surprise, not actually moving as he searched the building.
At the front we found a container. Once opened, we found that it was not a container actually, but a caravan from inside.
We guessed that it was prepared for the father.
''He has loved his father dearly.'
Arjun looked at his watch and smiled.
~..
She was waiting for us to return back.
She heard no gunshots for some time now.
The mobile in her hand was ringing for every five minutes.
She had no problem to attend the call, if it was not from her father.
At last she decided to pick up the call- she would attend the call and say- say what?'
It rang once again.
'How fast the time was moving?', she wondered.
She attended the call at last.
Before she could say a 'Hello', her father started talking, "Oh, Arjun! What happened...What happened to her? Why didn't you pick it up? Tell me, how is she? Is she-"
She had cut the call, unknowingly.
~..
We had nothing to do there except to call some vehicles to move the bodies away.
As I took my mobile, Arjun moved toward me and extended his hand.
He moved away once I put the mobile in his hand.
"Arjun! Why did-"
"Sorry sir! Your daughter is safe. We are on our way."
~..
She came out of the car as Arjun approached.
"Get in!"
He said laconically.
Without a word she got in. She was still having his mobile in her hand.
She was in confusion whether to give it to him or wait till he asked, for she felt embarrassed to say that she didn't attend her father's call, to a stranger.
To her surprise, he did not ask his mobile or even show it in his face that she had his mobile in her hand.
"Where are we going?", she asked suddenly as he started the ignition.
"Why, to your father's house!"
He seemed too confused.
"I'm not coming there! I'm going back to my grands!" she announced.
"Sorry! I can't help. I'm here for the sake of the commissioner. His order is me to drop you in his place. If you-"
He stopped short as she turned and opened the door to get down.
He started talking again as though she did not do anything to stop his speech.
"-Are you ready to go back there again to the bad guys, I won't mind."
She could not distinguish the good and bad guys then.
He was saying, "Then you can get down here and well... you can walk a fifty kilometers to the bus stand, where you got down yesterday morning."
She thought of the dark hours there and closed the door again quietly.
She needed time to shake the shaking in her knees.
He smirked and moved the car.
Once caught this she said, "You can drop me at the main road where I can get a taxi," she vaunted and leaned against the seat.
'She was not done yet!' she thou...ght.
"Why should I?"
He asked quietly.
She looked at him in shock.
"What, I -"
She turned her face to the other side.
The car was moving in silence.
She turned to him yet again, as she got something to argue about.
"Why should you save me then?"
He smiled and said, "The commissioner said so!"
"Right, what will you tell him when he asks about me?"
"The truth! That you refused to come with me to his place-That you went to your grands. Why, aren't you even going there, after all? Then tell me what I should tell him."
He asked sincerely.
She went dumb at his reply.
