Whenever The Lips Met...
Part-3:
He tried to recognize her.
He had seen her backside from a distance.
She had let her shoulder length hair freely and it covered her face partially while she turned into the private road.
He got the full meaning of her mask and gloves now, well, he thought grimly.
He would not find her now through finger prints.
'She must be 5"3 or 5"4...'
He was trying to read between the lines, while retracing the incident slowly.
Since it was an incident happened within minutes...
He had to admit that he could not identify her, at last.
He had nearly forgotten her as days passed.
He was returning back from a crime scene. He slowly reached the main road.
He thought of the murder that occurred that day.
How cunningly they've planned the -
He crossed a bus stop.
'Stop!'
The car came to a full stop.
He turned to see the crowd in the bus stop. No -not the full crowd, but a single person!
She too turned to see him from the mask, once the car slowed and stopped at last.
She did not really think that he could remember her after nearly a week now.
But he did!
She had to act fast.
She moved away from the crowd and called an auto.
His doubt was now confirmed as she got an auto.
The auto turned into a side street.
'Oh, not again!' he cursed under his breath.
It took her to a crowed area through small streets.
He thought she was taking him now to her place to seek help as he was trying his best to drive the vehicle without hitting the people who preferred to walk in the centre of the road that day. He wondered the skill of the driver of the auto.
At last the auto stopped before a crowd. She got out.
He saw it from a distance, since a pair of horses (This time!) was blocking his way.
He decided fast, instead of trying to tell them his urgency he could reach her by foot.
He got down and moved toward the crowd.
He searched and found her standing in the middle of the crowd.
He moved next to her, but her stead-fast eyes were seeing something without even blinking.
He followed her gaze and got that someone was thrashing a guy at the centre of the circle which the crowd had formed there.
None raised a finger against the fellow who was shouting as attacking the guy.
Arjun took a step forward in reflex and turned to see that the masked lady was not standing there anymore as expected.
Someone in the crowd was cursing, "Oh God, he's started as usual. Don't you have eyes to see this all? I don't know when this will come to an end!"
He silently approached the center and was noticed by 'the big man on the campus', duly.
Once saw that he got more than one pray that day, the man stopped beating the poor guy temporarily.
He had to tell the news to the crowd.
Once the beatings stopped suddenly, the guy fell on the ground like a rootless tree.
Arjun moved forward to help the fallen guy, but before he could lean forward a hand extended before him to stop him.
First he had suspected that the man was in alcohol.
When he squared his shoulders and looked the man in the eyes, he got that he was a mere hooligan.
"Who you to him?" the man demanded and raised an eye brow.
He said patiently, "I'm his brother!"
He did not want to show the crowd a free show that afternoon.
The man seemed happy to hear this. He said, "Then you have the right to interfere," he appreciated it.
"But you can't touch him and-"
The man fisted his hand and tried to attack him.
Arjun caught his hand in a firm grip which made the crowd gasp aloud and he continued, "And me, since I'm your father!"
He bent the man's hand behind his back and said, "Beta, family matters shouldn't come to street! Let's go in and sort this out," he said softly like a father to his beloved son.
But the man who seemed disliking either his father or the grip tried to shake his hold.
Suddenly men beset them from nowhere with clubs, chains and the sort.
"Now, who you people to him?"
Arjun inquired as measuring them casually.
He was doing nothing but what he hated the most.
Not left much choice.
"They are my men," the man explained proudly, but got a swat in reply.
The man was pushed away hither and thither as the fight was at its peak.
At some point the crowd started laughing at his state.
Someone even called the ambulance, of course, not for the goons. That was done by the police once arrived.
Once the ambulance arrived, the paramedics called the police, for they saw a man was whirling around and beating everybody around black and blue. Then red came- Yes, the blood!
The police arrived and saw that he was standing in the middle; he was just standing in the middle; he was standing in the middle alone.
More ambulances had arrived and started moving the patients carefully away, without missing any bones as the inspector reached him with his gun drawn.
"You, raise your hands!"
He turned tiredly towards the voice.
His face was smeared with blood as he was sweating heavily.
[Note: he was sweating not bleeding!]
He introduced himself once saw the confusion in the inspector's eyes.
"That's right, Arjun Rawte!"
The inspector saluted him fast.
The leader of the gang was still defying as he was moved to the station.
Arjun was silent when the crowd was shattered away.
He thought he had to see to it that the people would get justice, for this crime was occurring for some time then. He had to talk to the commissioner personally.
He moved to the car, washed his face and started the ignition. The car moved and he thought of the masked woman who was in blue without her gloves on this time.
Then he got the scenario well.
