Chapter 4

Rajesh chaddha had been with the hospital as a male nurse for 10 years and had been privy to its secrets for 5. He was masochistic, a drunkard and loved beating up his wife. He was frustrated when his wife went to complain to the police but thanks to his connections he did'nt get in trouble. His only complaint was that his wife now has the sole custody with his two male children but he knew it is better than spending the rest of his life in jail. He has as usual that day went about doing his work leering at female nurses, trying to get close to female patients. At noon he had gotten the order of the next and the last package. He prepared the injection required to give to that patient and went to the room. after checking that no one is there to come into the room he enters the room and sees the patient. The man is sleeping peacefully unaware how he is going to be now. Rajesh smirked knowing that this man would be the perfect piece for the experiment. After all acp arjun suryankant rawte was well known for his ruthlessness with criminals and his upholdence of duty. He went to the side of the bed and saw that the IV was almost empty. He patted arjun's arm and said "seems mr arjun rawte you are going to go into deep sleep. Permanently." He takes the syringe out and is going to plug it into the IV when he felt the air rushing through. His frightened gaze flickered towards the door but he heaved sign of relief when he saw that no one is there. He became puzzled but shrugging it off he is going to plug the syringe into the IV when he heard a female shout "NO." and the next second he was flung to the wall.

Arjun woke up hearing someone crash into the wall. He opened his eyes to see riya staring with murder in her eyes and his gaze shifts to a guy who was knocked unconscious after he hit the wall. He stares at riya and for the first time felt a puzzlement of how the guy was flung into the wall near the window when riya was standing at the door. he watched as riya strolled towards the guy and became shocked when riya was able to lift the guy easily by the neck and was choking him. he said shocked "riya leave him."

Ri: no, arjun sir, he tried to kill you.

Arjun got up and grabbed riya's arm but he was surprised when he could'nt budge her arm from leaving his throat. Her arm felt like it was made up of steel. He said calmly "riya, look at me." riya looks at him her arm still tightening around the guy's neck and the guy's face slowly turning into the blue. He said looking into her eyes "you only told me that every individual including a criminal have a chance to live. And you are only going against your principles riya. He also deserves a chance to live riya. Leave him. I am not worth it." Riya eyes slowly change from murder to sadness. she left the guy's neck and the guy felt down clutching his throat gasping. He got up and was going to leave when arjun's arm shot out and punched him in the face knocking him unconscious. Riya looked at the guy in amazement as he fell down in a heap. Arjun said calmly "I just said a chance for him to live. Not a chance for him to be free." Riya smiles and catches arjun's arm when he turns to call. She said "you are wrong sir. you are worth it." arjun stares at her stunned when she left his arm still smiling. He turns to see sameer, aisha and sakshi rush into the room. sameer looking at the guy and hiding the worry in his voice said in a frustrated voice "what happened over here rawte?". Arjun was going to say something when he glanced at the mirror kept at the wall in front of him. only his reflection is shown, riya's reflection is not there. Seeing where arjun gaze landed, riya turns to see the mirror and sees what arjun saw. She smiles sadly at arjun who was staring at her aghast and said "now, you know the truth."
