Chapter 6

Aisha slowly opens her eyes her lips curling into a smile as she comprehends a new day. A new day to work with the people she considered as the next people closest to her family, seeing the person she certain to have already fallen in love with. Her eyes brighten remembering rathore's sir twinkling eyes as they both remember the date they went and what it led to afterwards. But slowly confusion dawns upon her face as she sees she is in a room not familiar to her and as the memories come upon what happened she gets up quickly but clutches her head as the pain almost knocks her out of her senses and she moans. The door opens and her eyes open to see the person she should least trust right now standing over there. Riya quickly walks upto her and makes her sit upright properly. She asked "how are you feeling?"

Ais: as if someone hit a large hammer on my head.

Ri: yeah, that can happen. It's a drug sideffect we are working on.

Aisha slowly remembers what happened. Her kidnapping, her escaping, her meeting of riya and the next second unconscious.

Ais: wait you drugged me at that cliff?

Ri: no, we did'nt. You fell unconscious as soon as we saw each other.

Ais: then why did you say that the headache was a drug side effect?

Riya hesitated and then said "you needed full rest aisha but it seemed you were having nightmares so we drugged you to ensure full bed rest."

But that one second of hesitation was enough for aisha to know.

Ais: no, you are lying. The reason was something else. What is it riya?

She caught riya's hand and riya winced. Aisha noticed that she is wearing full sleeved pant and shirt but in this sunny weather why would someone wear this? before riya could stop her, she pushed riya's sleeves back only to gasp as she saw bruises turning to purple dotting her arm which extended beyond the sleeves also.

Ais: I did this?

Riya is going to say something when a voice "it was expected from you." aisha noticed riya's posture stiffen and her hands slowly fisted into a fist as she turned to say to that person "not now samrat."

Sam: why not? She is conscious and she has the right to know what has happened to her.

Ri: she has the right to know but not right now. She just became conscious samrat. Let her rest for a while.

Sam: I am the commander over here and I decide what is going to happen I say she should know right now.

Ri: you are disgusting.

And she stomped off leaving aisha alone with samrat.

Aisha looks at him calmness now coming into her. she is ready to face whatever happened to her. and deal with the consequences.

Sam : mind if I sit?

Ais: no

Samrat sat down and looks at her.

Ais: so what happened to me?

Sam: first tell me. how are you feeling?

Ais: excuse me.

Sam: I think I was clear the first time. How are you feeling?

Ais: fine.

Sam: physically?

Ais: yes

Sam: mentally

Aisha is going to say yes but suddenly could'nt say it. It's as if her mind is bound in something she could'nt find.

Sam: feeling tongue tied. Unable to say yes?

Ais: what happened to me?

Sam: that also we don't know. we just know that you did'nt become bound to them. you became bound to someone else.

Ais: bound to someone else. What the hell are you talking about?

Sam: aisha, you have become a supernatural.

Chapter 7

Sam: or in other words a vampire.

Ais: what? Are you playing a joke on me? me? a vampire. There is no such thing as vampires. It is just myth.

Samrat took a mirror and shows it to aisha. Aisha's eyes become big as saucers as she observes her appearance. Anyone who sees her would have seen a woman with dusky skin with shining surface, lips of temptation and eyes of seduction. But aisha saw a woman with razor sharp teeth at the edges of the mouth, a predatory glint in her eyes and felt an undying thirst in her throat. She recoiled from the mirror and samrat set it down, his face impassive.

Ais: how? How? How did i...

Sam: become like this.

Aisha nodded her head, ashamed of herself. Before samrat could say anything, the door opened and riya came in with a tray laden with food. She said "that's enough for now samrat. Let her eat." Aisha expected samrat to go against her but instead samrat stood up and walked towards the door. While passing riya, he whispered clearly to riya "you can't hide her forever." Riya turned defiant eyes on him daring him to try her. he closed the door behind him. riya took a deep breath and gave a dimpled smile to aisha. She said "I hope you are hungry." She sat beside her and opened the tray. It was filled with all of aisha's favourite items. But instead of concentrating on the items, aisha took riya's arm and before she could stop her pushed her sleeves up her arms. She flinches seeing the marks which were already turning purple. She then looks at riya's neck and is going to see her marks when riya said "aisha, its enough." Aisha felt her hand froze and pulled back as if it obeyed riya rather than her. aisha stares at riya as riya's eyes widen with horror and she said "I am sorry. It was unintentional. Have your breakfast. We will talk later."

Riya got up from the bed and aisha caught her arm.

Ais: no, I won't leave you unless I have all the answers to my questions. I have been puzzled with you the moment you have entered our lives. Shree and chotu used to say great thing about you. whenever they talked about you, their voices used to soften with memory (riya's eyes filled with tears). When you first came into our lives, you made us confused. Yet, when you captured us you did'nt kill us but in fact saved all of us. we were able to take down one of sikander's major operation with your help. Yet instead of feeling happy, we were plagued with the question:- who are you? were you our riya? Or were you a fraud?. I have got tired of having these questions in my mind. Even now you are hiding things from me and I have had enough of it. so I want my answers and I want it now.

Riya wiped the tears in her eyes. she then looks at aisha steadily. Aisha stares at her back, her gaze conveying her determination and her strength to handle the truth. Riya takes a deep sign and for the first time aisha felt like riya looked older, older than her 24 year old self. Riya sat down on aisha's bed and said "aisha, you and samrat were right. it is your right to know the truth especially now. But I can't tell you the whole truth aisha inspite of wanting to. I will try to answer questions to the best of my ability but some things are just forbidden to know till the time comes. And your time to know all answers is'nt now. So I will answer but can you trust me not to give me all your answers? And do you want to know all answers?". Aisha looks at riya with speculation in clearly in her mind. She then said "yes to both of your questions. I can trust you and I want to know all the answers."

Ri: fine. It is in the end your wish. fire away.

Ais: who are you?

Riya just looks at her.

Chapter 8

Ri: me. I am riya mukherjee in this life.

Ais: in this life? What do you mean in this life?

Ri: do you believe in rebirth aisha?

Aisha looks at her with confusion in her eyes. riya smiles but yet her sadness could be seen in that smile.

Ri: rebirth is something which was part of our lives beyond what we had imagined. Hinduism advocated rebirth as a journey to reach the ultimate goal. In ancient times it is often said that some people who were attuned to the spiritual side were able to guess what an individual will be born as next. Rebirth is not only present in humans but also in nature itself. Nature has an evolutionary cycle. What comes will go. that is the law of nature.

Ais: riya, what are you trying to say with this? what does rebirth have to do with this?

Ri: because aisha rebirth has to do with everything what is happening and will happen.

Aisha remained silent waiting for riya to continue.

Ri: vampires, werewolfs and all things supernatural were'nt always the demons as taught by the elders. In fact they were once an accepted part of the human world. The supernatural world and the human world were able to co-exist peacefully. And the foundation of this peaceful co-existence was nature itself. It is often said that an unknown force has evolved nature. The existence of supernatural beings had further confirmed this belief that the evolution of nature was done by an unseen force. And everyone at that time believed that to mess with this force was to invite death. Vampires at that time were actually not has seen as predators but as saviours.

Ais: what? Vampires as saviours?

Ri: yeah, because at that time, vampires had a sense of dignity so deep that it was said that once a promise was given by a vampire he would fulfill that promise no matter what the consequences. And the vampires were actually the kindest people ever known. they would give the clothes on their body to a beggar without a care even if the weather is cold.

Ais: riya, how did the vampires survive? I mean they had to drink blood right?

Ri: yes, vampires did survive on blood but for that they did'nt had to hurt people. Every human would willingly give his blood upto a certain quantity to the vampire. In fact more than the humans, the werewolves and witches were the closest allies of the vampires. Mating took place even among vampires and werewolves and it is often said that the offsprings of vampires and werewolves were some of the most powerful beings in that time. There was no place for fear, only love, care and respect existed.

Ais: riya, you are saying at that time? But what time are you speaking about and how does that have to do with the present situation and with me?

Ri: aisha, even I don't know the time when such peace was there. And as to how to do with the present situation because you existed at that time. You were a human at that time but mated with a vampire.

Ais: okay stop, this is becoming too much for my head to wrap around. Vampires, werewolves as mates. Supernatural beings. i don't know what makes sense and what does'nt.

Ri: maybe, I have'nt explained right. (an idea comes into riya's mind). There is another way to make sense for you.

Ais: what way?

Ri: come.

Riya helds out her hand and aisha hesitates for a second. She slowly places her hand into riya's hand. The next second she felt a sensation in her body and closed her eyes. when the sensation loosens up, she opens her eyes and her eyes widen seeing the scene in front of her.
