CHAPTER 1
Arjun enters the house shrouded in darkness. He searches for the switches and starts getting worried when the lights suddenly switch on. He sees that the entire house is decorated and roshni is standing in front of him smiling with dinner spread on the table. He gives a sign of relief and goes and hugs her. They sit down to have dinner and arjun surprises her by showing her the tattoo of her name on his arm. Both hug each other. Arjun puts her face between his hands and is going to touch her lips when he hears a voice say "arjun sir." He turns and is horrified to see riya standing over there. The knife is in her hand and is bloodied. He feels roshni clutching him and catches her before she falls down. Her breath is coming in short gasps. Arjun tries to staunch the wound by wrapping his shirt around it but the blood soaks through it. He feels riya sitting beside him and tries to protect roshni. He turns to dare riya to do something but instead of seeing the maliciousness, he saw tears in her eyes. She drops the knife and catches roshni's hand and sobbingly said "I am sorry. I am so sorry." Suddenly, arjun's arms felt empty. He and riya looks around and sees roshni standing but this time with a serene expression on her face. Arjun starts crying. He said "I am so sorry roshni. I could'nt save you." roshni bend down to his level and taking his face in her hands kisses his tears and said "shhh, don't cry arjun. It is not your fault. You made the right choice. I am always with you. but now you have to save someone else." Arjun stares at her puzzled and suddenly the room goes up in flames. Arjun stands up and starts searching for riya. He sees her standing opposite him near the burning cupboard. He walks towards her braving the flames. But as he moves forwards, riya is going behind and shaking her head. He stops and shouted "riya, what the hell are you doing? We have to get out of the fire."
Ri: no, arjun sir you go. I have to stay here. Then only the fire will be extinguished.
Ar: riya, what nonsense is this. come, we have to go. come on.
Riya smiles her dimple smile and said "this is much bigger than you think arjun sir. you cannot save me everytime. I have to go arjun sir. In order to right the wrong commited and to protect those I love, I have to go." and she jumps into the burning cupboard.
Ar: RIYA
He got up immediately screaming. Looking around, he saw that he was in his room. He put his head on his hands and rocked himself to control the tremors of his body. What is this dream? Why did he go to save riya when he knew that she betrayed them? why did she say that it is bigger and she is sorry? Is there something more going on? How much hurt is the team going to be?
Arjun's reverie broke with the phone ringing. He composed himself seeing the caller id and took the call. His expression soon became stone hearing what is being said and he just said a curt okay and cut the call.
Within 15 minutes, arjun reached the office. He saw that everyone except aisha and sakshi is there. Shree is working furiously on the computers while rathore is pacing up and down with chotu and liza looking on. He entered and went straight to shree and asked calmly "how did this happen?". Shree who by this time becoming frustrated said angrily "if I had known how did this happen I would'nt be sitting here? How the hell can this happen? Just shut up and let me think about how to bypass this whatever is affecting the computer." A pin drop silence came up which made shree look up and finally notice arjun. He gulped seeing arjun standing there with his arms crossed across his chest and thought "shree, today is definitely your last rites. What the hell was I thinking opening my mouth to arjun sir?". but surprising everyone arjun said "shree, I think its best if I don't say anything right now and you better start finding out how to bypass this?". shree nodded his head hurriedly and started working on the computer. Arjun walked upto sameer and asked "what did the commissioner say?". Sameer looks at arjun and said "nothing. Which is far worse than him saying anything. One more mistake and he will definitely shut this team down." Arjun quietly said "you did'nt know rathore. How you could have known about riya?". Sameer said "rawte, I made the proposal of having this team. I selected those I thought were the best. I am responsible for whatever happens. So yes, I should have known about riya. I should have done a more thorough check on her when I was seeing her records. Dammit, I should have known."
Ar: no, you could'nt have known because she is sikander's pawn. And we never knew what sikander would do.
Sameer looks at arjun and sees that he is composed with his arms folded. Yet the circles under his eyes indicated the restless nights he had. Sameer could'nt help but curse himself. Whatever happened he should have known about riya. He trusted her, loved her like his sister yet she never blinked before betraying the team. This made sameer wonder how much he knows about the people he trusts. How can he know whether they will keep his trust or not?
His thoughts broke with sakshi's entry. He asks "sakshi, where is aisha? I thought she was coming with you." sakshi looks at him with a puzzled expression and said "but I thought that you had picked up aisha. She told me that she received a message from you saying that you will pick her up." Everyone paled hearing this and sameer said "but sakshi, I never sent any message to aisha." Sakshi said "wait, if you did'nt send a message, then who had come in the car to pick her up?" before sameer could say anything, chotu came with the cctv's cameras footage. Luckily they had a backup storage where the footage would be transferred in such an incident. Chotu put the cd in the tv and everyone watched it. sakshi picked up a glass to drink water but as soon as she saw the face the glass dropped from her hand. Everyone became stunned in shock. Sameer felt his heart break into a million pieces and the only thing he realized is that he trusted the wrong person again.
