Chapter 3

She looked down and instead of horror, she felt peace. Peace that she finally knew with certainty what she had. She looked at the fallen person and instead of hatred, she felt gratitude towards him, gratitude that he finally did one right thing for her. she pulled the knife out of her chest and tossed it aside. Blood started coming out and she started feeling dizzy. Her knees buckled and she is going to hit the ground, when those two familiar arms enveloped her. She looked into the stormy black eyes that she knew longer than he had known and whispered just enough for them to hear "I have a heart.""

"NO" anoushka shouted dropping the glass she was holding. Aryan rushed to her and caught her by the shoulders before she fell. anoushka looks at him and Aryan sees terror in her eyes, terror not for herself but for someone else. Aryan made her sit on the sofa. He said to the policeman who had entered their room "anoushka felt faint and I grabbed her before she fell down. The glass fell and broke." The constable asked concerned "let me call the doctor." "no" both of them shouted startling him. anoushka then tried to rearrange her face into a smile failing miserably and said "its okay uncle. No need to call the doctor. I feel fine now." The constable looked unsure so Aryan said "please don't call the doctor uncle. She feels fine now." At the sound of his voice the constable's eyes became unfocused and finally focused upon them confused. He then asked "did you need anything?" both Aryan and anoushka shook their heads and the constable left the room.

Aryan caught hold of anoushka hands and asked "what happened? What did you see?". But anoushka ignored his question and asks "did you wipe the constable memory and just hid it?"

Ar: hid it. he will remember later on. But that's not what's important. What did you see anoushka?

Anoushka hearing his voice felt compelled to obey him but she controlled herself and said "Aryan, quit using your power on me. you know its wrong."

Ar: and what you are trying to do is right? why are you not answering the question anu. What did you see?

Anoushka swallowed and fear again appeared in her eyes. She whispered so that only Aryan would hear "I saw riya di die." Aryan looks at her with horror evident in his eyes. He immediately got up and picked up the phone. Anoushka put her hand on the phone and asked "whom are you calling?"

Ar: papa. He has to know about this.

Ano: what are you mad Aryan. You can't call him.

And snatched the phone from his hands. snatching the phone back, he said "no, I am going to call him. he only is the one who can prevent the death of riya di."

Folding her hands, anoushka said "and what would you tell him Aryan? How would you explain to him what I saw is in the future?". Aryan hand's stilled on the phone. Taking the phone gently from his hands anoushka said "its best he does'nt know Aryan. Di told us not tell him about ourself. How will we explain to him that his children are not ordinary children but half- animal, half- human?"

Ar: but we have got to tell someone anoushka. Its in the future and the future can be altered. And he is the only one who can prevent. If we do not trust him, then whom can we trust.

Anoushka had no answer to that question.

Arjun sat in his cabin staring at the wall unseeingly. Seeing riya jump off the railing, his heart had stopped for a moment and then started after seeing her on the ground alive. He could'nt understand how could he still want to trust in her inspite of everything that happened. Seeing his gun on the table, he remembers the moment between them.

Flashback

Arjun came to the gun practice area and was surprised to find riya there. She had'nt noticed his arrival and was busy trying to hit the target unsuccessfully. Wearing the headphones and the goggles, arjun went near her. he smirked internally seeing her get startled at his arrival. He said "you are doing it wrong." Riya's lips pressed together in anger. Arjun then gestured her to stand in front of the target. She stood in front of him and raised her gun positioning herself. Arjun did'nt think just put his hands on her shoulders and whispered in her ear "stop being so stiff. Relax your shoulders. And don't put your weight too much on your left leg. Distribute the weight equally between the legs. Now, imagine that an innocent is standing in front of you but the target is the one thing blocking you from the thing. In order to clear the hurdle you have to shoot. Don't think that you are taking the target's life think that you are saving the innocent's life and shoot." Riya shot and the bullet hit near the smallest circle. Riya looks at arjun and arjun said "good, but could do better." And he removed the goggles and headphones and was going to go away when riya said "arjun sir." he turns to see riya hesitate before she said "nothing." Arjun folded his hands and said "yes, riya what you want to ask." Riya placed the gun on the table and walked towards him. then surprising him, she leaned towards him and kissed his cheek and whispered "thank you." and ran away scared that arjun would scold her. arjun instead smiled and putting his hand on his cheek softly caressed the spot where she kissed.

Flashback ends

Arjun thought "I thought I knew you riya and I can trust you. but now I feel that I have made my biggest mistake trusting you. am I right riya? Am I right?". he snapped out of his thought when shree opened his door and said pantingly "arjun sir, come fast." And he rushed behind shree but not before he heard a soft voice whisper in his ear saying "no, arjun sir you can trust me arjun sir. you can"
