Verma's POV

I stumbled a bit as I reached our safe house...

I didn't know what to say... near one of the grocery stores a small 28" tv had a movie going on... and I heard a line

"Chaata maarna aasan hota hai - par maafi maangna utna hi mushkil..."

That was so my situation...

To ask for forgiveness... this was the most difficult thing ever in my life... oh God -why am I so complicated...

I looked at a dusty mirror and found Sakshi behind looking at me... with a smirk on her face...

"Sakshi?" I asked...

"Kya?" she asked...

"W..woh Kappy se maafi maangna hai..." I mumbled...

"Aur as usual it's the toughest job in the world..." she smiled sarcastically...

"Tu uske side pe hai ya mere side pe?" I fought with her...

"Kisi ke side pe nahi hoon main... and ya - don't you dare point out ki whether I forgave Kappy or not... instead of saving bhai ... I was saved - I was furious Verma... par jaise din beet gaye.. " she breathed for a second...

"I knew ki agar main waha hoti toh shayad main bhi wohi karti... and when I was stopped from going towards Arjun - twice... tab main phirse gussa thi... to only know ki ghalti toh meri hai... pyaar karna meri mission pe thi hi nahi... aur agar pyaar kar hi li... toh phir uski ifaazat karna meri dharm hai..." she looked away into the sky...

"Yeh sab bataaka ab kya faida Sakshi... I am sure you can go back to Arjun... pyaar zindagi main kitni important hai - I know.. and you should forgive Kappy..." I smiled faintly...

"Hm... bas ab pata nahi main kaise face karoon..." she softly whispered...

"Aye daredevil... tu kabse pheeki daal ban gayi? Kappy ka dil is as big as the universe... I remember... jab neend mujhse door thi toh Kappy used to sit next to me with bucket loads of old stories to make me go to sleep... aur maine..." I looked away...

Sakshi looked at me... her big doe shaped eyes... staring into my soul... "Verma... you have been as good as a counterpart to me... hai na... and we both have done the same mistake when it concerns Kappy..."

"If you are my counterpart... matlab tu Rawte ka bhi counterpart hai na..." I asked...

To see that she left without an answer...

But I heard what she whispered before she left... "Rawte ki nahi... shayad Arjun ki..."

I dusted my pants and slightly crept into the living room... the door was open... wait... did Kappy know that I am coming?

Kappy had dozed off...

I look at the exhausted person on front... elbows were bleeding... back in action eh?

My past records - especially with Kappy told me one thing... to not speak with my bestie...

I slowly went and picked up Dettol and cotton...

Washing the wound carefully, that was the only manner in which I could apologize...

Chuckling Kapoor looked at me...

I was lost... I tried to say something and I found myself engulfed in a bear hug...

I had lost my family pretty early... maybe that's why was I insecure... scared and a full time loser in emotions...

I hugged Kappy tight and weeped silently...

"Oye! Pushpa! I hate tears!" Kapoor laughed...

"Yeh toh mera line hai!" I pouted...

Kappy hugged me again...

"Yaar I am sorry... I have to say..." I started speaking...

"Ssh... I know... khoon ek nahi hai par humara dosti khoon ke rishte se bad kar hai... right? Don't explain nor justify..." Kapoor smiled at me...

"Yaara... bas mujhe pata hi nahi chala ki hum dono ek hi raaste pe chal rahe hai - itni drama ki kya zaroorat thi?" I complained...

"Waqt aayega Verma... bas ab thoda intezaar kar... and about asking sorry - please... dost hai.. yaar... pata hai that it's cliched... but no sorry... ok?" Kappy asked...

I nodded and hugged Kapoor again...

And I realized that words were never required... just the act of repentance... God knows for how long did we hug and silently cry...

Sniffing out my tears I said "Oye... ab reunion ho chuka hai... bhook lagi hai... kuch bana jaldhi!" I said while Kappy laughed and ruffled my hair...

I knew there were many questions and a plan ahead...

But for now that would be kept to rest...

Especially when my hungry stomach was waiting for the spaghetti...

And for once my heart felt light...

Now no matter what...

I would never leave Kappy's side...

"Kappy... woh Sakshi..." I started..

"I know... tell her ki I miss her... aur mujhe aaj tak uske ek baat pe bhi hurt nahi hua... and tell her... ki jald can she meet him... but tell her to meet me as well..." Kappy said smiling...

I looked up at Kappy and smiled... "She will come Kappy... she will..." I smiled again...

"Wait - you mean Sakshi can meet Arjun..." My voice trailed off...

Kappy looked at me and nodded...

Maybe things were now turning for the betterment... her reunion with him won't be sweet... there would be many emotions on fore... anger, pain, happiness, joy, desire... yeah you heard it right...

Desire - I have seen it in his eyes... when he glares at Sakshi... at one point there is a man behind who wants her... needs her... but does he lov... phew - Mr. Complicated! I knew that as well.. but then maybe it was time...

"Grr" my stomach grumbled... Guess I'll leave my thoughts and get ready for dinner!

"Kya baat hai Liza?" Arjun asked...

"Sir... iss reports main silicon.. iske itne saare traces nahi hona chahiye... in fact yeh joh specific silicon in logo ne likha hai... you know the polymeric structure..." Liza started her explanation...

"Wait! Liza... details mat batao kyunki mujhe samaj nahi aane waala... main part batao" Arjun looked at her confused...

"In short Sir I don't know why but blast site pe iss type ki silicon toh milna hi nahi chahiye kyunki yeh wires ya explosives main aate hi nahi..." Liza replied...

"Kya tum bata sakti ho ki kaha pe yeh sab..." Arjun asked...

"Nahi Sir... I have to research...bas itna hi pata hai as of now..." Liza replied...

"Hmm..." Arjun thought when something hit him like bolt...

"Liza tumne kaha tha ki tumhare ghar pe blast hua... kya tumne kisiko bataya tha that for that entire week you would be staying at home as tum theek nahi thi..." Arjun asked while pacing around the room...

"Nahi Sir.. maine toh bas aap logo se baat ki thi.. that's it..." Liza answered...

"Shera breakfast doon ya woh bhi skip karne ka iraada main hain - ha tera dimaag toh na khaana na pani na chai se chalegi na!" Karan said sarcastically... knowing that it was a day since Arjun had anything...

"Very funny... jaa la joh bhi laana hai..." Arjun grumbled...

"Waise Shera... Liza ghar main thi kyunki sick leave thi... iss baat main itna jump kyun maar raha hai?" Karan asked voicing out Liza's doubt...

"Karan... jab Liza ne sirf humain bataya ki woh ghar main hai - yaani baki sab ko toh lagega ki woh ya toh ETF ya humare paas hai... toh unlogo ko pata kaise chala ki Liza is not joining us? Ab yeh baat samjhe ya..." Arjun questioned

"Kahi koi jasoos tum logo ke peeche nahi tha na!" Karan spoke...

If the same dialogue had been said before - surely would have Karan be whacked on his head...

"Hmm... you could be right Karan... par matlab..." Arjun said...

"Sir... kahi koi humara phone tap toh nahi kar raha na?" Liza asked...

"Exactly Liza... par humara phone tap karna bohot mushkil hai kyunki it's protected... Shree ne kiya tha... usko tap karne ke liye uss insaan ko Shree se zyaada technical gadget ki zaroorat hai ya phir... usse zyaada dimaag..." Arjun said and sat down...

While Simran brought a plate of plane paratha and sweet curd...

"Hi Liza... right.. Karan ne bataya... main hoon Simran..." Simran smiled and immediately hugged Liza...

Liza smiled back "Hey... par main kuch nahi khavungi... mann nahi kar raha hai..."

"Haan... tu aur Simran kha le.." Arjun agreed...

"Arrey Devdas aur Devdasi... thoda khane se mote nahi ho javoge!!! Aur Liza... tu toh waise bhi patli hai... jab Bengali shadi hogi tab thoda sa wait ki zaroorat hai na - warna utna jewelry kaisi pehnegi!" Karan joked...

Liza turned red but had tears as well... how more painful could it get to know your love is there and yet not be able to speak to him...

Simran gave Karan a pissed off look and clasped Liza's hand gently... nodding that everything will be fine... soon...

"Yeh Devdas kaun hai?" Arjun barked...

"Lo Samajdaar ko Ishaara hi kaafi hai.." Karan whispered to Simran...

"Main Shree ke baare main keh raha tha.." Karan lied..

Arjun gave a "ya right" look and concentrated on finishing the food...

"Good... kuch der na khaane se bhi na tu usse jaise pakad lega... sona, nahana, khaana... yeh teen cheezein are a must..." Karan said while Arjun just nodded...

"Usse pakadna? Kaun Sir?" Liza asked...

Arjun sighed and told her about the accidents not being just because of a simple raid... he didn't reveal SIkandar's name as he felt Liza didn't need that information... but just told him about the situation out here... he couldn't afford a confused soul roaming around...

Liza just gaped at Arjun by the end of every information...

She silently went back to finishing her food... Arjun had decided that very soon he would transfer her back to his home town, exactly Arjun's home town... as he believed in one thing... no one finds for the enemy in their home... Sikander would not trace for Arjun in his village...

Rather Arjun would present himself to be active in Mumbai... and Liza being presumably dead... Arjun had to move her out of Mumbai as soon as possible... hence best place... his ancestral village...once where his grand-father had lived... Khetopur (random village guys)...

"Liza... tum aaj hi yaha se nikal javogi... par war kuch nahi... tumhari dekh bhaal ke liye... aur haan ... you would have every research facility there... main kuch karoonga uske liye... God bless... and I'll make sure ki tum jald hi Shree se mil pao..." he smiled faintly at Liza...

She teared up and was about to hug him but was just able to clasp her head and voice a silent Thank You...

Arjun nodded and asked Simran to get all the preparations done... Karan too volunteered to go but Arjun refused...

"Kyun yaara?" Karan asked...

"Simran ki shooting hai - woh kabhi bhi... kahi bhi jaa sakti hai... par agar tu bhi bahar jaayega... then it would be too much of an activity.. got it?" Arjun said...

"Hmm theek hai... chal Liza... yah se hi tata goodbye... sun... Simmi kuch kapde de dena Liza ko..." Karan said and brought his car in which Simmi could drop her...

"Par Shera... Simmi ko waapas aane main raat ho sakti hai... it's not safe..." Karan voiced his concern over Simmi...

Arjun smirked and told Karan... "Sun... koi hai jo hum pe nazar rakh raha hai... koi tha jo Liza ko bachaya tha... ab yeh toh do insaan ho sakte hai... alag alag ya phir ek saath... I am sure he or they must have kept an eye on us... ab agar main Liza aur teri Simran ko bahar chor raha hoon then I am sure ki koi na koi unke peeche jayega... and I wouldn't be surprised if he or they mujhse bhi behtar ho... isliye mujhe utni tension nahi hai... agar nazar rakh hi rahe hai - toh theek hai nazar rakho..."

Karan just marveled the intelligence Arjun had "Kya baat... silent informer jo Shera ko madat kar raha hai - usi ko indirectly kaam pe laga dia! Kya baat!" he chuckled and left to see if the preparations were set up...

Arjun gave a quick hug to Liza before she left and drowned himself in his work again... Karan too seemed to be in an off mood... well why not... his Simran was off to drop Liza..

"Meri Simran... wah wah Karan... ab tu yeh sab hi soch!" Karan chuckled and went to repair a part of the car...

Arjun looked at Karan and thought "Kuch hi ghante pehle inke papa ki maut ki baare main baat ki... aur ab yeh khush hai... kaise... mere baat bolne se toh zakhm phirse khul gaye... dard phirse aane laga... shayad bhavuk hoke main Sakshi ke baare main soch raha tha... pyaar toh tumse hai na Roshni... pata nahi... uss din when I cried out that I love her... dil main sukoon aaya... par ab joh tumhara chehra dekh raha hoon toh I feel the pangs of guilt in me... yeh kya ho raha hai Roshni?" Arjun looked at Roshni's picture in his wallet...

Finally his mind and heart had decided to come into battle with each other... however... both causing equal pain to the agonized man Arjun...

That's when he noticed a flutter near the vent...

He turned and saw a person disappear "Karan.. pakad!" Arjun barked and ran out of the garage... He was sure he found someone...

Well Wisher?

Then how could he make a mistake of him being noticed...

Running out and panting...

Arjun knew that now the well wisher would keep a watch... Karan too stood next to him... panting after their futile running attempt...

They came back to find Anjali creeping up to a plate with a glass in her hand...

"Anjali... kya kar rahi ho?" Karan asked...

"Arrey Arjun bhaiya ko poocho... he will understand.." Anjali whispered... keeping her gaze focused on the plate...

"Plate aur glass... mujhe samaj nahi aaya..." Arjun replied

"Bhaiyya... maine padha ke kuch insects sweetness samaj sakte hai... toh to test that I kept a sugar solution (sugar dissolved on water) on the plate... phir I waited till a fly sits on it... aur ab jab beith gaya toh main dheere se - peeche se haan - haath main glass lekar uss fly ko trap karne waali hoon - school main proof dikhane ke liye kuch hona chahiye na... ab yeh baat sys?" Anjali whispered...

Arjun grinned at her when she successfully captured the fly...

"Kya baat hai Einstein! Par..." Karan went and removed the glass...

"Aah!!!" Anjali looked shocked and was about to pull Karan's hair when Karan told her to shut up...

"Anjali... apna point prove karne ke liye - kisi ke bhi jaan khatre pe nahi hona chahiye... chahe machchar hi kyun na ho... kyunki dimaag main yeh machchar tha ki nahi woh toh nahi beith ta... par haan... plan banake kisi ko trap karna mann main beith jaati hai... ok! Btw tu bhaag ke uss machchar ko pakda kyun nahi?" Karan questioned...

"Arrey... agar bhaagti toh woh machchar bhi bhaag jaata... phir pakadti kaise?" Anjali smiled...

Arjun looked at the tiny moral science and science lesson in front when an idea dawned on his mind...

"Karan... yaha aa..." Arjun called Karan...

"Kya hua?" Karan called...

"Kya tune kabhi kisiko ya kuch bhi dekha hai uss vent ke paas?" Arjun asked...

Karan thought for a good five minutes... then he got a message on his phone... "Uff... yeh Vodafone kya leliye... mere peeche hi pad gaye..." Karan grumbled...

"Haan to tu keh raha tha... haa ek baar dekha tha... arrey jab tu kuch file pakad ke bohot roya..." Karan said and felt guilty of the last line when he saw Arjun's eyebrows knit together and his jaws click in place - guess he recalled it as well...

"Hmm.. chal ek kaam karte hai..." Arjun told...

"Kya?" Karan asked...

"Makkhi ko pakad na hai..." Arjun said...

"Hein??!!??" Karan looked at Arjun...

"Beta .. aur reh iss paagal Shera ke saath... woh do baar toh Devdas ban chuka... teri shadi bhi nahi hone dega yeh paagal... kahi mandap se Simran ko hi bhaga na de... kehke ki Karan mera dost hai... Simmi door ja.. isse mat shadi kar... iska future main sirf maut hai!!!" Karan cursed his future...

" Haan... waise mann main mujhe gaali dena band kar... bas chup chap wohi kar jo main batata hoon... got it?" Arjun told and discussed a plan with Karan...

Karan nodded and immediately set off for his work...

"So... Well wisher... ab makkhi banne ke liye tayyar ho jao... kyunki jitna information milna tha woh toh mil gaya... ab toh main bas itna hi jaanta hoon ki tumhare paas isse kai zyaada information hai... aur information dhoondne main shayad kamyaab na hoon... par nikaalne main toh maahir hoon..." Arjun said grimly and went back to the garage...

Arjun had laid the sugar out.. he knew that the well wisher would come... and yeah... right now instead of being amazed he would just sit and watch him coming...

"Am waiting to meet you.." Arjun gave a ghost smile and sat on his chair... knowing that the time won't be far now...

The questions in his notebook lay...
