Chapter 13

Shyam paces in front of his car checking his watch again and again. He said to the guy leaning casually against the car "you sure that they got her? there is no trap?". The guy smirks at him and said "shyam relax, chill maar. Have a beer. They have got her. Got the confirmation half an hour ago. My man saw them take her out of the police van with the guards unconscious and drove her away in a car."

Shy: it just does'nt make sense to me siddharth. Arjun suryakant rawte is one of the genius police officers. How can you know that he did'nt pull any trick?

Sid: one thing shyam. He is an ex police officer. And as to his genius then it is overexaggerated. He is just one of those so called police officers who thinks that he can do everything honestly. And his honesty is his weakness.

Shyam is going to speak when a car burst out into the clearing. Shyam stiffens while siddharth straightens himself with a casual grace and all the men lift their guns in anticipation. The car stops a half a distance away from them. The front door opens and out steps out the person they did not anticipate to see. The girl raises her hand indicating she has no weapon.

Shy: what is this siddharth? How did you get her to come?

Sid: that is my secret my dear friend. And this is my surprise for you.

Shyam gave him a lecherous grin and said in a sickening silky voice "khushiji, this is a pleasant surprise."

Khushi's heart is pounding out of fear but her voice was steady as she said " where is she shyam?"

Shy: arre khushiji, you have started calling me shyam. I am honoured.

Khu: don't flatter yourself. You are still the most disgusting individual I have ever met.

Shyam's hands tighten into a fist hearing this. he said "khushiji, you still don't understand me. I did it for you, for us."

Khu: don't you dare bring me into this equation shyam. You did it only for you. And on top of that you are in the end a coward who will only stab people's behind to achieve your goal. You will never attack from the front.

Shyam is going to advance towards her but siddharth places his hand on his shoulder. He said in a silky voice "careful khushi, you do know that she is with us and we can do anything to her. So control your tone around shyam."

Khushi took a deep breath and goes to the other side of the door. Opening it she takes out riya her eyes blindfolded and her hands tied. Khushi said "I have brought her. Now where is anjali?"

Siddharth nodded to one of his men and his men opened the car and took out anjali her state in a similar position like riya. Khushi opened riya's blindfold and riya lurches towards anjali but khushi got hold of her arm and made her stand there.

Sid: now the exchange goes about in this way. Shyam will walk with anjali half a distance while you walk with riya half a distance. At the middle both will exchange each other's hostages. Any trouble will result in anjali's death. Do you get it?

Riya and khushi nodded their head. Riya and khushi started to walk. One of the men is going to walk with anjali when siddharth stops him. Within a second he takes out a syringe and injects it into anjali's arm. Riya and khushi yells while anjali grimaces in pain.

Ri: what have you done?

Sid: oh this is just an incentive. You see I don't know whether you will cooperate or not, so I have injected anjali with a bacteria which within a couple of hours will kill her. and the antidote is with me. so to ensure that you deliver the information I have injected her. give me the information or she dies.

Ri: how will I know you will fulfill your end of the bargain?

Sid: you don't. but do you want to take the chance?

Riya looks at anjali. Anjali stares at her, her trust evident in her eyes that she won't let anything happen to her.

Ri: okay, fine I will do it. but I want the antidote.

Sid: and you will get it. after I get the information.

Riya nodded to khushi and all 4 of them walked to the centre of the clearing. Shyam looks at khushi up and down in a lecherous manner. Riya bends and tries to hug anjali but her hands were tied. She just caught anjali's hands and said "you will be safe."

Anjali kisses her cheek and said "I know."

Khushi takes anjali and shyam caught riya by the hand but riya shakes him off. As khushi looks on, they got into the car and drove away.

Within seconds cars surrounded the clearing. Before the car stopped the door opened and arnav jumped out running towards khushi and anjali. He hugs anjali first and after checking she was okay hugs khushi. Khushi hugs him back bursting into tears and said "I could'nt save them both."

Arn: shhh, it was not your fault.

Khu: but I insisted on making the exchange.

Arj: which was the right choice.

Both turned to see arjun walking towards them his eyes hard but it softens seeing anjali unharmed. He takes out her arm and sees the injection mark. He said "don't worry. Nothing will happen to you."

Anj: save my di mr arjun. She is more important.

Kar: and we will get the antidote also.

Ais: mr raizada what is so special about riya that they are after her. you have to tell us now.

Arnav took a deep breath and said "riya is not just a model. She is also a journalist, a crime journalist."

Everyone except khushi stares at him shocked.
