Part-5:

One Day before the engagement:

Morning:

"You are right! He didn't call you up. All right! You can even divorce him for that, but not before you marry him first!" He said at last.

And she smiled at last.

He decided to use the ease of the situation to ease her out.

"See! You can fight for this any time in your life. But you have to get him first. He must be worrying about you now. If you call him now he may apologize for what he did. Thus he may talk to his mother about this new quiet attitude of yours and that may be the end of this whole problem!"

She grinned.

"You are becoming talkative now!"

He ignored the comment and said more,

"If you think, telling that girl about ' your boy friend's other girl friends ' idea won't work, and then I have other ideas for her!"

"And what are they?' she asked eagerly.

Now she was convinced completely, that he could stop the engagement and was ready to talk to her boy friend about that.

"Creating boy friends for her is for one!"

"That is not fair!"

"We'll come to that in a moment, but now, still we can make a fair one!"

"Meaning?"

"I've decided to do anything to stop the engagement!"

He started with a preface that shocked her to the core.

"We've to make sure that we've left no stone unturned!"

"So?"

She asked bewilderedly.

"So, I'm going to try to convince her to be my girl friend or even to marry me, if possible I mean, since we have only one day left!"

He swore.

"What non sense!"

She exploded, unexpectedly.

"Don't you believe I can convince her to-"

"Not that! I-"

"Thank you!"

"Phew! Stop this! Convincing her to- See! If only you stop talking this sort of rubbish we can talk this further!"

She announced and took a step back to turn toward the door.

"I said if and when you think that your boy friend's girl friends story won't work!"

He threw his hands in air and let her decide and waited.

She decided fast.

"We can use this, I think!"

"Finally, it seems creating girl friends to a beloved boy friend is easy and fair, but creating a boy friend to a girl- even if she is an enemy- is not!"

He revealed a truth casually.

She was shocked and came to know, what he meant while said 'We'll come to it in a moment ' , but she shut him up with a simple sentence, "Well, Let him decide!"

He laughed at that and thought, 'Clever!'

She entered into his room and started talking even before he could know about her entry.

"You were right! He accepted to do anything for me! If you were not there for me I would have lost him in my confused state. In fact, I want to thank you for that and for your readiness to marry her, for my sake!"

She laughed aloud dramatically.

"You've reanimated our relationship anyway! You know, once we caviled at something and we both avoided meeting each other. Then after two days, suddenly he was standing at my door step and started talking casually to me as though nothing had happened amid!"

He put the papers he was working on, on the desk and stood.

Merely to make her to stop her talking he stepped forward, but stood a step too nearer than the accepted range.

Merely to make her talk to proceed, she stepped back a step then two and said, "When I asked him-"

He was also moving along with her, she noted.

She didn't know what, but something in his eyes changed just in a split second.

"About- about our misgivings, he said-"

She was stopped short by the blocking wall behind.

"He said-"

He towered over her.

"I want a kiss!"

He asked simply.

She stood agape and asked, at length, "How?"

"Quite obviously, with your mouth!" he prevaricated.

"Impossible!" Her lips quivered.

"Then how come I know?"

"When?"

"When you cut the first call, at the hospital, to be exact!"

Said the monitoring lizard then, ever letting go of a clue!

"My God! At the very first moment?"

"Unfortunately!"

"I can't accept!"

She said feebly.

"I need my share!"

"Well, I-"

"Can I get my share if I prove that I smelled your cheat the first moment you started staging it?"

He asked agilely.

He had confounded her with his chaffer.

He stood erect and crossed his hands against his chest, as always.

"But-"

"But? Hear me out, Miss! You dramatically shouted into your phone, "shut up George!' before you cut the first call, sweetly.

Then while I asked you the boy friend's name you said it was 'Krish', unknowingly and hinted me in the car."

He grinned and threw his hands in air, as though to say 'That's all!'

"So you were cheating me all the while, not me!"

She repined.

"I wasn't cheating you, just was enjoying the show!"

She leaned forward to dig her face into his chest to hide the sweet saffron creeping on her cheeks.

"That's not fair!"

He smiled and in an unguarded moment snatched her from his chest, before she could etch a permanent mark on his chest and cast her against the wall.

When she bounced back, he got what his share was, and put an end to this story as well.

Guys! The show ends so forth!

Please, remember to get the tissues at the exit, while I have my kerchief ready unintentionally (?!), all the time!
