"if you love something,let it go.."
She walked slowly towards a man with his back turned to her. He stood at the end of a cliff. From the underneath came roaring voices of the busy blue. He heard her footsteps,but stood there with indifference. She walked up to him leaving a concrete gap between them both. He turned around to face her.
His body felt a rush of emotions. He tried his best not to break down in front of her. He drank in all his pain and didn't let even a single sigh escape his mouth. She stared at him with curious eyes. They stood there facing each other. The cool evening breeze flew making them shiver. They spent moments of silence. Moments which are the best spent in a relationship. Moments where so much spoken through the eyes. Moments where words,expressions aren't a priority.
After about 15 mins he spoke.
"i don't know what to do" he said calmly looking at her with soft eyes.
She looked at him with moist eyes. She knew the time had come. She knew this day would come. She tried hard not to lose her grip.
"i cannot forget her" the man said indicating his late wife.
She looked down as hot drops fell off her eye creating an ocean beneath. He looked up and closed his eyes. He didn't want to do this but he was forced to. Maybe this was written in his destiny. She turned around and walked up to a small distance when she stopped.
"i love u..i still do..i will always love u..." she said with a lump in her throat.
He couldn't listen to her speak like that. She mattered to him. She did. But!Pheww!
"u know ..i didn't know what love meant until I met you...meeting u was the best thing that has happened to me...i will never that moment..." she said smiling ,now facing him.
It pricked him to be the reason for her heartbreak. He gulped a ball of pain. She looked warmly one last time. Yes,the last time. This is where everything comes to an end.
"i love you too" he said.
She looked up at him and smiled.
"i know" she whispered.
"but i cannot have you in my life...i want you...but I don't.."he managed to say. He didn't know he could justify himself better.
She gazed at the ocean in front of her. The waters were so serene. The weather was cool,the trees were dancing,the sun bid a goodbye. The nature looked so beautiful.
She looked at him standing there next to her now, looking at the ocean with her. They looked at each other at the same time. The magic happened again, the one that happened 2 years ago. But magic cannot last right? It happens and then fades out soon.
They looked away.
"i should go" he said.
"no..i should go" she said and began walking.
As he saw her moving away from him, a different kind of pain emerged. You know the kind of pain when someone tears of your skin with a knife? The pain you experience when someone splits open your heart,the pain you experience when your body entire stops functioning,the pain that completely shuts you down,the pain that stops your heartbeat,the pain which comes before the final moments of death...
She folded her hands and walked. He turned around and stared at the vast sea again. The first tear in years dropped. It fell from his eye and went and fell into the water below. It created an unusual ripple, a painful one.
She sat in her car and zoomed out of the place. As she drove, she trembled,shivered. Her eyes produced a never ending chain of drops. She had lost him. She had lost her everything today. She stopped the car and cried loudly hitting her head on the steering wheel. She felt her heart crumble, her skin burn,her head spin. Yes it hurts, the magnitude of hurt? well pain doesn't have a magnitude, it just comes and stays..doesnt go very easily. Doesn't leave sometimes.
Love maybe a beautiful thing,but the pain it brings is vast.
He stood there as darkness completely enveloped the place. She sat motionless in her car which was parked at edge of the road. She looked front, a lonely path. A new journey maybe? but she didn't want this jouney. She wanted him. Knowing that it was over, she turned on the ignition and drove slowly remembering him. Maybe this was her fate. Maybe she wasn't meant for him. Maybe he wasn't meant for her.
But as they say, stories never end. There is always a beginning, cause an end is also a beginning.
