Chapter 5- Was it cupid?

The whole ride was silent as none wanted to talk with each other. Ayesha was fuming at Sameer for calling her fat and Sameer well he wasn't really interested in talking with her. If he wouldn't have been the ETF chief he would have strangled the lady next to him to death or would have definitely tortured her in ways that she would never think of disobeying him again .Just the mere thought of it brought a smile on his face ….

Ayesha saw the beast smiling to himself thinking and mentally slapping and punching him with all her might .When she was satisfied finally only did she chukled .If she can't beat the beast in reality whose stopping her dreams…

"Ms Kapoor , anything funny "

"Yes Sir, I just saw a clown smiling to himself "

Before he could retort she knew that they had location and she got down before the beast could even roar

Basement parking

Shree had handed them their respective hand free through which the whole team was connected.

"Ahann My bumblebee is finally here, now I can enjoy the party"

"Arjun , instead of enjoying can you keep an eye on the people "

"Aye Aye Captain "

Ayesha had just moved forward but was pulled back and landed straight on the one person she never wanted to be with

"Ms Kapoor, we came as a couple so it's better that you stick to me and I won't remind you again "

He had wound his hands around her waist in a way that it seemed that she was leaning on him but only both of them knew what were the actual condition was .

She felt secure in his arms but immediately brushed the thought aside and straightened herself with her best smile fixed on her.

The whole time Sameer hand was on his waist and whenever he turned to talk to her, his breath tickled her but being the cop she was it wasn't difficult to put up pretence of being unaffected.

Everything was going well and the couple was engaged, maybe it was actually a false Alarm .They had moved to the dance floor and Sameer dragged Ayesha just to be stopped by her .

"Sir where are we heading"

"Dance floor Ayesha "

"And why do we need to dance, I mean we are pretending as a couple that doesn't mean that you can order me around" , she spoke while gritting her teeth

"Ayesha , I have Absolutely no interest in dancing with you or even to pretend as a couple BUT WHAT YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND IS THAT WE NEED TO BE NEAR THEM TO KEEP ANY EYE.

Is that Clear to you now or I should make you understand again "

"Ayesha , Go with Sameer " It was Arjun voice that finally brought both of them back to reality and ended the stare competition

"Sameer Stay with the girl , there is something going on here"

The lights were dimmed as the spotlight was on the main couple.

Both Ayesha and Sameer had taken their places next to couple and had started to dance

She hated to admit Sameer was a graceful dancer, always in control of both their movements. She looked towards him and was observing him for the first time so closely. The way his lips were pursed together, his eyes were always on the target and the way few strand of his hair that fell over his eyes . He was handsome and there was no doubt about it.

Somewhere else Arjun was watching everything and recording the whole thing via the mini camera in his coat pocket and could not help to think over the past when he had first met her .

PAST (Sorry Past ke ander bhi past hai- Year is 2008 ..two years before Ayesha joined )

Arjun Rawte was in deep trouble, he threw a birthday party for his best friend and wasn't there .

Sameer Rathore hated parties but he had been blackmailed to join this one , ironic his birthday party and the host was missing .Majority of Arjun friends were present means it looked more of a Kitty party to him apart from the fact that few had already tried to be close to him ..

"Damn It Rawte"

Arjun was late by an Hour and now he was sure that he would be in good trouble and the ringing of his cell confirmed his doubts

"Sorry Sam, just give me 15 minutes I am nearly there "

"Arjun , is it my birthday party or yours because I don't see my friends but there a couple of your friends who have already wished me more than I thought "

"Oh Com Sam !! They are really harmless and please don't break their hearts you see that suits me , I am the heart breaker where as you are the good guy dude…Shaadi type material "

"Damn It Rawte , you better control your heart broken friends as I am not in a mood to lend them a shoulder "

"Okies , maximum 30 minutes and I'll be there "

"Fine , let me know when you reach "

"Hold On , Sameer Rathore did you just say fine , I meant no shouting ….Oh God !! Someone caught your eye there "

"Well you can say that "

"My friend ?"

"Oh No !! She doesn't qualify to be your friend..now come fast buddy "

He pushed the accelerator to its maximum limit, now curious to know who had managed to get attention of the Rowdy Rathore

Finally reaching the venue in a record breaking 20 minutes time he had ran inside only to slip and spoil his shirt. He had to call a friend to get a spare shirt and waited outside the venue devoid of any clothing on his upper half.

"Arjun still not there "

"Ahaan , Mr Rathore Looks like your dream girl left you alone that's why you are remembering me "

"Maushami , that her name "

"Sounds like a fruit to me "

"It's a forbidden fruit to you Mr Rawte "

"Possesive Rathore , Ladki aayi dost bhul gaya "

But he couldn't hear the reply as he bumped into someone for the second time and broke his phone .

It was a girl , the first thing he noticed was a her hair which fell right uptill her waist just like a wave and when she turned he met the most cold eyes he had seen in his life ..cold but beautiful .

She corrected herself and threw a glance towards him saying "Wear a Shirt "

"Ouch that hurt Mumma , what does wearing of my shirt has to do with you "

"I guess you lack Basic civic sense "

"My party , I booked the area, I wear a shirt or not wear a shirt or even stand naked that shouldn't be your concern should it be now Ms….

But she didn't reply but he could see the anger flaring up her cheeks and he smirked

"Ms Lajwanti "

"Shama , that my name " and she turned around walking away from him

"Don't burn me lady , I am a innocent man ..and its Arjun BTW " he shouted the last part

The lyrics bought him back to the present …Shama , only if he would have know that she was Rathore Mau that he would have saved himself from the heartbreak but know things never went as he had planned ,they never did .He was correct Sam was the good guy and he was the bad one

He scanned the hall area again and moved his eyes towards the couple in front of him.

Ayesha was there with Rathore, and he had bent down to say something to his ears. He saw her whole body stiffening at this while Sam was still talking accidently his lips brushed pass her ear and her eyes closed in submission .His Bumblebee was a gone case but knowing Sam he knew that it can't be just an accident .

Later that night the case wrapped up, it was the girls ex lover who had turned to be the culprit .Shree, Ayesha and Chotu had left together where Arjun & Sam left together after finishing formalities.

Arjun saw Sameer a little shaken oir lost but he couldn't put his finger on it

"You can still dance well , Mr Rathore "

"Thanks Arjun "

"Waise Ayesha also dances well na "

"Hmmm"

"She was looking good also today "

"Hmmm"

"It was just a accident of you kissing her on the ear "

"Hmmm ..What Kiss ..Arjun are you out of you Mind…"

"Admit it Sam ..you are attracted to my Bumblebee " and he went off to sleep leaving Sameer Rathore confused and angry at his own thoughts

PRESENT

Ayesha woke up from a pleasant sleep only to find the other side of the bed empty .As usual a red rose lay there for her which he would have plucked from there garden .

She completed her daily chores and went to wake up the two angels of her life but they were missing . She saw Arjun with Diya in his room selecting his clothes .All his shirts were out and thrown across the bed and she realized that Diya had rejected all of those.

"Diyu , I need to be in office warna you dada is gonna make my chicken curry "

"dad—da ..dada"

"Haan Ji your dada, now please select one and made the puppy face which was strong enough to melt a stone so how could Diya be indifferent to him

Finally ACP Arjun Suryakant Rawte was ready to head back .He picked Diya up and kissed her which she returned by kissing him on both his cheeks .

Yep he was ready to go but not ready to move on "
