Chapter 4A

Miss Renuka entered inside and looked bored with this situation. No one could understand how she could behave so indifferently while her sister-in-law and apparently friend of long date was dead. Arjun hated her and her attitude at first look. He hated artificial people, and this Renuka was such an artificial person.

"So Renuka-ji, since how long do you know Mrs Simi?" Riya asked.

"I've known her for almost 20 years now, we went to the same college and were in the same class," Renuka replied while checking the nail polish on her fingers. She seemed more interested in her fingers than with their questions. Arjun felt a sudden urge to shake some sense into her, but he controlled his anger and let Riya proceed with the questions.

"Did she have any enemies?" Riya continued.

"Of course, she'd have many enemies! She was a tramp! Used to go after the husbands' of others and any single male, as soon as my brother was away on business!" she snapped and said with anger and disgust. Both Arjun and Riya were shocked at this statement, but they kept quiet about it.

"You were her best friends, so what happened between you two! It seems that you hate her a lot? And how can you say that she was unfaithful?" Riya asked silently, though she was fuming inside.

"She stole my fiance, my engagement broke because of her! She's nothing more than a big liar, and cheater!" Renuka said scathingly.

"Your fiancee?" Arjun asked, "Who was your fiancee?"

"He's dead now!" Renuka said with tears in her eyes.

"Dead? How did he died?" Arjun asked with interest now.

"Well he died in a car accident. Apparently he had been drinking heavily, and took a turn too quickly, and went in a cliff when he couldn't control the car!" Renuka replied.

Riya immediately mentally removed the ex-fiancee from her list of suspects, while Arjun was stuck on the way he died.

"Did any doctor examined his body?" Arjun asked.

"Any doctor would have examined his body, if they had got it nah! Everything burnt in that accident, even his body! We didn't get anything out of him!" Renuka said in between sobs now.

"Have you seen this earring before?" Arjun asked Miss Renuka.

She looked at it, for a few mere milli-seconds a fear passed in her eyes and but was soon gone, and thankfully only a person like Arjun could notice that, which he did.

"Did Mrs Simi have any depression problem! I mean, has she ever showed any suicidal signs?" Riya asked.

"Frankly speaking, I don't know. I haven't talked with her at all since a long time now," Renuka replied without any trace of emotion now.

Presently they told her to go away, but forbid her to leave the city till the case wasn't solved.

After her, they questioned all those working in the mansion, but didn't get anything much to help their case. There was lots of rumours and gossips about Mrs Simi, her mother-in-law and sister-in-law like they had anticipated.
