CHAPTER 16:

She reached a bit late. He had already left the building. She took a taxi and followed him. He was driving in high speed to the only destination where he found a bit peace of mind.

She was delayed on the way due to a traffic block. But she knew where he would be heading to.

Flash back:

It was Sapna's birthday. She was quiet and didn't want to celebrate it. It was the first bday without Riya. She went as usual to office. Everyone was already there "good morning sir... hi chotu..shree.." all said hai. 😊Arjun just nodded. "sir… yaha pe koi bohot bada secret chupa raha hai.." shree started. Both Arjun and Sapna were shocked inside. "kya matlab?" Rathod asked. "aap Sapna se hi puuchiye…" he winked at her.😉"kya hua Sapna ?" she didn't know what to say. She just nodded negatively.

"sir aaj Sapna ke bday hai.." chotu was excited. All were happy. Arjun was silent. He didn't know about it. " oh sir.. that.. yes..but mein celebrate nahi kar rahe hai.." she said.😳

"kyu?" chotu was not ready to leave her. She just looked sadly. They knew the reason. But her friends were not ready to let her suffer. "kuch math bolo tum… sir ek choti se cake ready hai.. le aau?" Rathod agreed. They bought in a small white cake. They were ready. She looked at Arjun. He just nodded slightly. She cut the cake and gave to Rathod. Then shree and chotu. Arjun was not there. She felt slightly bad. She went out to buy some sweets. She was distributing pedas to all. But Arjun was still missing. Chotu noticed it " yaar sir yaha nahi hai.. or unhe sweets pasand nahi hai… tho kya ma ye le lu…?" she couldn't help but smile. "sure par shree ko bhi dena…" "ofcourse …. " he promised and gulped two.😊

It was a free day. No new cases. " yaar lagtha hai ki sab tumhare bday celebrate kar rahi hai.. koi case nahi.. wow…" even Rathod was relaxing there. She smiled. Arjun came in " Sapna mere saath chalo.. "

All were surprised. "kaha sir…?" 😳

"bus tum chalo… mein neeche hu.. Rathod koi kaam hai tho bula dena…" he looked again and walked out. She didn't know what to do. "shayad koi surprise gift dena hoga. How ro…." 😉Shree was so happy. "SHREE…." She stopped him and looked at Rathod who was having an amused face. 😳"jao.. warna wo zyada pakayega…" she took her bag and was about to go.."tumhe mein badme dekhlungi.." she whispered to shree.."sure mein yahi hu.. sab batha dena…" 😆she glared and went down.

He was already in his vehicle. She silently went in. "sir hum kaha ja rahe hai?" he didn't answer and just drove silently. She didn't ask anymore. She knew him. After an hour they reached in front of a small white house. It seemed neglected for a while.. but still had a warmth. He was just looking at the house. "sir ye kiska ghar hai…?" he was silent for a while." Mere… mere or Roshni ke…" she couldn't believe. "kaafi time se yaha aane keliya soch raha tha.. man nahi tha akele aane keliye.. isliye …" he turned to her. She had tears down her cheeks. He felt sorry. "so… sorry Sapna.. didn't mean to hurt you.. wo bhi aaj.. I m sorry..lets go back…"

"no sir.. please don't say sorry.. aaj apne prove kar diya ke aap mujhe friend manthe hai.. I m so happy.." she smiled. 😊" apna ghar nahi dikhaoge..?" they smiled and he took her. He stopped at the door unsure. "come on sir.. let it go.."

He opened the door.. and went in .. it was mostly covered with sheets.. she looked around.. she felt at home. He was just watching her. She went in front of a photo- him with Roshni.. they seemed so happy together. She cleared the dust from it. Then slowly moved to the Bappa's idol. She cleaned it. She found oil and match sticks in nearby cupboard. She lit the diya.. he couldn't take it any more.. he went out. She prayed and went out to him.. he had tears in his eyes. She sat near to him.. "thanks sir this is my best bday gift.. ever… thanks a lot…" he was looking into her eyes. They smiled.😊 Rathod called him and he spoke for a while. "jaana hoga…" she nodded and went to close the doors. And came back to give the keys. "tum rakhlo.. jab chahiye.. mein puuchlunga…" he went back to the vehicle. She was so happy. 😳She kept the keys close to her heart and stood there for a while. She went back and before he could start "sir ek minute.." she took a sweet box from her bag which she had saved for him and showed it to him. He just looked at her. "please sir.. ek lelijie.. please.." he smiled and took one. "happy bday Sapna.."😊

"thanks sir" it made her day.."par sir ek problem hai.."😳

"kya hua?" she just smiled. "chotu or shree ko ab ek kahani sunane padega.. I have no idea what to say". He just smiled and drove back.

Months later: it was Roshni 's bday. Arjun was so silent and lonely. He went to office. Everyone was there except Sapna. "where is Sapna?" "patha nahi sir.. wo aaj half day leave leliya hai.. "

He didn't know about it. He felt something. After a while he got a call from her. He went to the window "kya hua.. kaha ho tum…leave mein ho?"

"sir.. ssh… aap please Rathod se kuch kahiye or neeche parking lot mein aayiye.. kuch kaam hai.."😊

"kya hua? Sab teekh tho hai?"

"ha.. aap bas aayiye.. or sir se thode time bhi manglena.. " she cut the call. "ajeeb ladki hai.. ab ise kya hua..?" he thought. " Rathod mein thode time keliya bahar ja raha hu.." he went out. She was waiting for him. She looked cute in that white salwar. " aagaye aap? Good.. ab chaliye.." she got into the driving seat.. he stood there itself . "aayiye sir…"

They drove silently. it was evident that she was happy. "kaha ja rahe ho?" "surprise!! " she said with a smile. 😊They reached the home. He was shocked. "hum yaha kya kar rahe hai?"

She smiled and asked him to follow. She opened the door for him. It was cleaned and so tidy. Someone had removed all the dust and kept the house so neat.. as if some one is staying there. There was a single photo of Roshni. There were diyas infronts of it.She looked at his shocked face and smiled. She went in and brought a cute white cake. He looked at it again " Happy Birthday Roshni" it was beautifully decorated. she lit the candles and asked him to come forward. He was in a trance. And slowly came and cut the cake. She took a piece and fed him. He was about to cry at any moment. He just looked at her and suddenly hugged her crying..😳 at first she didn't know what to do.. then she gently patted on his back. No one knew how much time they stood.😳 Suddenly he woke up and moved back. "I…I am so sorry.." he went inside to his bedroom. It was arranged well. A white sheet on the bed. And his marriage photo on the wall. He went and sat on the bed keeping his face in his palms. She slowly sat by him. He felt her and slowly looked at her.." thanks Sapna… thank you so much… you are really my best friend…". They smiled and was ready to go. She closed the door and gave the keys to him. " ab aap rakhiye.. jabhi yaha aana chahthe ho tho mujhe bula dena.. " she smiled and went to the side seat. He stood looking at her for a while and then took the driving seat.

Flashback ends

He was sitting on the door steps. His face in his hands. She sat by him and kept her hands on his shoulder.. "sir…".

CHAPTER 17:

He was so disturbed. He just didn't know what to do. One side wanted him to go after Sikander.. the other part wished to save everyone… from the unknown that was yet to come.. he felt her soothing touch. He didn't know how this much change had been brought to him in such a small span. It was almost like she could read his mind. many unspoken words were shared between them.

"sir ye kya kar rahe ho aap? You really wanted this case. But aap aise bhag kyu rahe ho? "

"mein bhag nahi rahe Sapna.. mujhe ye case chahiye.. mujhe use chahiye.. its just…" he didn't know how to put his words. "just what sir..? I really don't get it. Agar ye case hamare team ko milenge tho problem kya hai..? it will be easier.."

"tum nahi samajh rahe ho Sapna.. ke isme kithne khathre hai.." he walked away. She went to him.

"isiliye sir.. its better ke hum ek saath kaam kare.. we will be there for each other. Tub tho hum…." She couldn't complete. He was holding onto her arms fiercely. There was a storm in his eyes.

"Sikander ke dushmani mujhse hai.. pichle baar jab mein uske saamne gaya.. tho usne… usne meri Roshni ko le liya.. I was there.. or mein kuch nahi kar paaya… is baar bhi kuch aise hi hone wale hai.. sub maano ya na maano.. mujhe abhi abhi ek family firse mile hai.. Rathod, shree, chotu… tum… ab mein tum sabko nahi khona chahthe… TUMHE nahi khona chahthe… samjhe…" he was shivering. She was just looking at him dumbstruck. He came into sense and left her and moved back.." ab mein kisiko nahi kho sakhte.. agar mein akele jao.. tho zyada se zyada kya hoga.. wo mujhe maar denge.. par I promise ..use leke hi jaunga…"

"ha.. teekh kaha.. zyada se zyada wo aapko maar dalega… tho hame kya…? Ha?? Aap aise selfish kaise ho sakthe ho? Bas aapke bare mein hi sochthe ho? Hame kya…?"

He turned to crying Sapna.." aise math kaho… mere matlab wo nahi the… tum jaante ho?" he was confused.

"sir… aap kaise sochliya ke hume aapko khokar kuch feel nahi hoga… Rathod sir aapko bohot manthe hai.. kabhi kehthe nahi.. but aapke fikar karthe hai…" she was screaming. "mujhe patha hai Sapna…"

She didn't allow him to continue. " chotu or shree.. wo aapse darthe tho hai.. but ek bade bhai manthe hai.." she was hysterical. He tried to stop her. "or main.. mein aapke koi nahi hu na… ?" this shocked him. "aise math bolo tum.." now he was angry. "tho kya kahu aapse…? Aap mere liye kya ho, iske bare me aap nahi janthe.. aap mere wo dosth jise mein ek baar kho chuke ho.. or fir khona nahi chahthe… or kabhi aap mereliye us dosth se kahi zyaada ho.. samjhe aap… " he couldn't say anything. "or ek baar sunlijiye aap.. agar fir khabhi bhi aise baath kiya.. tho mein kabhi aapko maaf nahi karoge.. kabhi nahi.." she ran and stood beside his vehicle. She was crying bitterly. He felt sorry. He went by her."Sapna…" she didn't look up. He slowly took her chin and made her look at him. "I am sorry..really sorry…"

"please sir.. aap aise kabhi math kahiye… bohot dard hota hai.. bohot…" she couldn't control her self. She cried leaning onto his chest. He slowly wrapped her in his arms.. she let all her sorrows out. He could feel her shivering under stress. He slowly patted her back and kept his chin on her head. Keeping her secure from the whole world..

They stood there for a while.. then she felt much better. She slowly took her face from his chest and looked at him.. his relaxed face was looking at her.. he slowly cupped her face in his hands.. wiping her tears with his thumps.. and slowly placed a kiss on her fore head. She kept her eyes closed.. feeling so secured... she looked at him.. he was still calm… " lets go Sapna.. we have a case ahead…" they let go each other..and silently drove back to the office.

"aap kehna kya chahte ho??" Arjun was fuming.. "no... mein aise kabhi nahi hone dunga."
