my god! this ashok is really a psycho!🤢🤢🤢 like father like son. you can't expect chakravarthy's son to be normal right?😆😆 i hope malika at least shows some reaction in that scene.

why does CJ Baskar like violence so much? in 'Penn' he had this scene where deepa & her sister were beaten up. that was a pretty nauseating scene.😕 and now this? what kind of values are these scenes imparting into our minds? that domestic violence against women is commonplace?

Leena, I agree with you. These directors take violence against women as common and has to be in serials. someone please knock some sense into them. 😡

I hope we could do something about the abuse against women potrayed in these tamil serials. The directors don't even seem to realize that it is a criminal act to hit a women leave alone do physical torture (like this hot iron etc). It is so depressing and agrevating to see such abuse being screened on these popular tv channels.

Dasa, Pat and others -

After reading ur comments, I can imagine how violent it might have looked on screen. I too agree with all of you on that; after all it is a TV serial with even little kids as audience - such serials are not censored and therefore the directors should apply better discretion, in what they choose to show.

For the past few weeks, I've been watching the game show "Thiruvalar Thirumathi" produced by Radaan on SunTV, which I'm sure some of you might have watched too. It has a section where the husband and wife are supposed to fight and compromise on a given situation and I almost always see the husband attempting to hit/slap the wife, while they are purportedly arguing. I mean these are real people, not characters in a serial.

In fact in one such show, a man not controlling his emotions, really slapped his wife with her eye glasses flying in the air (they later claimed that it was a timing error). To say the least, it was horrifying to watch - all in the name of a game show. With ratings increasing for such shows and more viewers (incl. young ones) turning in, it must be the producers/channel's responsibility not to promote such a act. It really sets a bad example, b'cos the situations gives to these couples are daily situations that families face and definitely they should be asked just to argue verbally and not to involve any physical violence.

I agree with you Jenim. But dont expects the producer or the channel will do something with such kind of thing, coz only money and rating count for them.

Jenim and Meli, both of you are right. these people only care about income and ratings - nothing else.

the producers wont do anything as all they care about is the cash flow. its up to local governments to put a stop to these things and make it illegal/censored

Since the local government in this case owns "the channel" one can imagine how regulated/censored the shows will be 😉
